Beautiful grounds, elegant rooms, and we felt like we were miles away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, yet less than 10 minutes from Old Town Pasadena. Staff was excellent, attentive, friendly, and provided superior service.
Several venues were closed for private events during our 10-night stay which was disappointing that they weren’t held in meeting rooms or the ballrooms instead of closing down a restaurant or the Tap Room that should be open to the public.

Professional staff, beautiful setting, nice restaurants for visiting with family
No issues

Beautiful & relaxed. The pool, the jacuzzi, the grounds.
Difficult to reach services. Had to call repeatedly or be on hold a long time.

The grounds are beautiful. The room is very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Service at restaurants was good.
The hotel is so big that I would get lost going to the lobby. Depending on whether I turned left or right to go to the elevator from the 6th floor I would come down to a different place. It took a while to get it straight.
Also, was not happy with the $42 fee for parking.

This is one of the greatest hotel I ever stayed. The staff is very friendly, thanks Gary, he is so nice and helpful. Hotel includes everything you can expect in a trip. Terrace breakfast is impressive, dinner is so good. The bed is comfortable, shower is nice, outside swimming pool is awesome, and the SPA is free and so nice, and the hotel location is good in Pasadena. Thank you

Stunning visually. Unbelievable grounds. Super responsive and friendly staff.
There was nothing I didn’t like.

They should enforce a minimal dress code. If I’m paying that much for a place and I’m celebrating a special occasion in The Tap Room, I don’t want to sit next to a sweaty man in a tank top and baseball hat who is also being loud.

Lovely property. Pool cocktails and afternoon tea were excellent. Very comfortable bed. Nice bathroom (stained marble notwithstanding) with well-designed shelf large enough to hold lots of items. Good bedside lighting.
1) Check-in was slow and inefficient and my room was very far away from the main building, which resulted in a $20 parking charge to my daughter, who lives in Pasadena and had driven me from the airport, because I couldn't complete check-in within the allotted and inadequate 15 minutes. I don't expect this kind of tacky nickel-and-diming from an upscale and very expensive hotel.
2) My room was described as having a garden view. This turned out to be a view of the street with a strip of lawn, so hardly as anticipated.
3) The staff were generally lovely, with the exception of the valet desk.
4) Room very ordinary; no amenities such as a coffee maker or working refrigerator.

pristine location, excellent service, very kind and professional staff.

beautiful gardens, but the we’re immaterial to the lodging experience
Not much. it’s a very old lady with too much make up trying yo be young again. it doesn’t work. Electrical issues phone issues and when we called down about them it took between three and 24 hours to get any help

pretty property
breakfast was very very expensive . the wait for the food was over 45 minutes each day.
children's room wasnt tempting. Pool table needed new cloth. it was cool and sometimes rainy and not much to do. Had to go off property for activities.

Grounds are beautiful, very clean, comfortable beds
1. Thermostat in our room (1315) was unreliable - would go from hot to cold to hot to cold.
2. I paid $ 9.00 for an iced tea in The Terrace restaurant - I questioned this at the time and also at checkout. There is no iced tea in the world that is worth $ 9.00. Very irritating

Room was large and comfortable. Bath excellent. Royce dining was first class
My wife has a hard time walking and our room was at the end of a wing, so everything was a long walk.
The Terrace wasn't open for dinner at the time we were there. The Royce is wonderful, but we needed a mid range place for the second evening

Nice size room but. Very nice views and nicely furnished. Comfortable bed. Beautiful grounds
Wonderful and top class staff and customer service.
Nice gym, equipped well. i did appreciate male and female spa areas as well.
Very nice food at the one restaurant tries. Very opulent looking bar.
would have liked a more easily accessible area for the smoking area - had to walk across the field and wasn't sheltered properly during the rain.
Would have liked to explore the hotel more but there was a big event happened so not all the restaurants were open or areas open for the public.
There was an issue with the heating in the spa so my massage room was quite cold, but the staff were very nice in offering me a discount afterwards due to that.
For couples it would be nice if theres an area where both can experience the spa together - unisex area, rather than just the massage waiting room.
Room could have been more extravagant for the price.

The staff and services was top notch and professional. The hotel was awesome and well kept. Was there for five days and didn't want to leave. They made sure the guest felt special. The Terrace restaurant was wonderful, and so was the staff. I will go back.
The steakhouse restaurant was overrated for the price. Not a large variety of food. I ordered the salmon, and it was panseared, not tasteful for the price, My husbands ribeye was dry. The ceasar salad was delicious.
