Very close to lots of shopping.
Very noisy by the pool, but stopped around 9:30.

Location
When we first got there they tried to put us in a room that was far away and not lit at all - also no outside lighting so it was not safe and no parking because a truck took up like 6 spots - I let the desk girl know but nothing happened and we changed our rooms - In the middle of the night someone came and banged on our door and ran away - I called the front desk and he said oh yeah I heard that because we were right above the lobby - did not feel safe - our dead bolt did not lock but the top lock did on our door - Staff In the morning - particularly the kitchen staff Tammy was standing around in the am and chatting with 2 other staff members and the breakfast area needed serious attention . Dirty counters , burned hash browns, dried eggs and dirty tables.

Coffee and breakfast
It’s old, everything is broken. We had to switch rooms. Just very disappointing.

Our refrigerator was not clean on the inside.

Great staff, clean & orderly lobby area.
Our room was in the far back of the property - very old & in need of repair. Broken tiles in the bathroom , discoloration of the old toilet, door was very difficult to open and close, springs on mattresses were broken creating deep holes, other guests were smoking outside our room , the cooler worked but rattled loudly all night, and the parking lot was not lit, and finally the sliding doors were dirty.

This hotel was in a good location for visiting old downtown Grassvalley. The hotel room and lobby were clean and well organized. Breakfast was better than expected.

Room was nice and clean and staff was very nice when I checked in.
Room was supposed to be 175.00 after taxes. Noticed I was charged 250.00 for the room. No help resolving the issue.

Breakfast was your average hotel Breakfast, except for the fact that it was well stocked and kept warm by the staff.
When I checked in I asked for a room with two beds, because the lobby was very busy and I wanted to appear to have a second person with me. I checked in then left, returned back late. I checked the room for safety and under the bed I found trash. A beer bottle, some raisins, something brown that may have been a dog bone? I was alone in a city I was not familiar with (had never been there) and I was expecting the hotel to be a little nicer. The sheets on that bed had spills same on the skirt, and then I realized that the green service needed card was left by the last people who stayed in the room. It says to drop it off at the front desk, but house cleaning should have been working in that area and seen it. The chair had a black film where your head would rest. I always assume those are dirty but in this case you could see the color of the dirt. I decided to just sleep on the bed that appeared to be clean and once I ruled out safety I stopped looking around for cleanliness and just got to bed. When I checked out the attendant was super kind and said she would have moved my room.....which I get that but I didn't want to walk outside by myself super late. I asked for a discount. I think I was supposed to pay 157? They cut it down to 117?
Honestly I feel like I should have gotten additional compensation. This was a neglect of house keeping, not just a little over sight. I appreciate the discount I received but I feel it should have been additionally discounted. I asked the attendant who I could talk to and she said her manager but that honestly was the most they could do. I want to be clear, the attendant was great! I should have asked for a new room but I did not feel safe. I was given this room presumably because it was ready to stay in, yet it was probably not cleaned aside from changing some linens and making the bed. If I can be given additional compensation or a credit on my booking.com account I would greatly appreciate it.

Bathtub had ring and mold. Live bug crawling in the bed. Went to breakfast at 7am and half the breakfast serving bins were empty and no coffee.
The woman at the front desk was friendly. Shes the best thing that BW has going for it.
