About this villa rental
The villa nestles on the outskirts of Castelnau de Guers a picturesque medieval hilltop village dating back to the 11th century. The village has a bar/restaurant, post office, boulangerie, grocer and tabac. It's renowned for 'La Circuit St Antoine' a 10km walk which explores the village and surroundings with stunning views of vineyards and mountains. Castelnau is a short drive to the beaches the nearest being Marseillan Plage. Cap d'Agde, a 20 mins drive away boasts 'Aqualand' sports park. A short journey north takes you to mountains, lakes and gorges. Lake Salagou is renowned for fresh water swimming and Gorge d'Heric ideal for abseiling, hiking and canoeing. Culture and history are catered for in the nearby towns of Pezenas, Montpellier, Carcassone, Narbonne and Beziers. Pezenas, a renaissance town with its winding cobbled streets housing shops, galleries, bars and restaurants, is a 5 min drive from the village.
So in summary the villa located in an ideal position. You can explore the Languedoc region - visiting significant historic sites such as Pont du Guard or you can visit the small towns and villages most of which have weekly markets. You can mooch around the antiques and bric-a-brac shops in Pezenas. Visit the vast number of wineries - all of which will give you a tasting. If you want to take the children to theme parks there is Aqualand at Capd'Agde. a Dinosaur park and and a Safari Park at Sigean.
Alternatively you could just laze around the private pool and soak up the sun. The villa has a great outside area - it walled and very private over looking a quiet olive grove at the back. There is a pool and a sunbathing area. There are 2 BBQs, one gas and one charcoal and a patio dining area and if it is too hot there is a shaded dining terrace adjoin the living room and master bedroom.
We have totally refurbished the kitchen with new units, worktops and appliances. The living room has been completely refurbished and bedrooms have also been updated.

We had a lovely week here and found the property comfortable and fairly well equipped. We were a family of five and we could have done with a few more glasses and would suggest putting some soap in the kitchen and bathrooms. Despite these suggestions we would recommend this property.

The property itself was lovely; comfortable, well maintained, well equipped, and spacious. We enjoyed using the pool and exploring the local area, with highlights being the Wine Festival in the village and the 10k St. Antoine walk.
Sadly, the bar/restaurant in the village no longer appears to be open, which means that you will need transport to eat out in the evening - we also couldn't find the boulangerie so that has possibly closed too. The little supermarket in the village is very well stocked, however!
We especially enjoyed visiting Pézenas, which is beautiful, and Lac du Salagou where we hired a pedalo from Wind 34, and enjoyed a couple of drinks.
All-in-all a fantastic stay, which could only have been improved by a restaurant/bar within walking distance.

We found Les Trois Oliviers perfect for our family holiday. It is spacious and bright, is very well equipped and met all of our family needs. We particularly enjoyed eating on the covered terrace (breakfast and lunch) and barbequing in the evening on the patio while the children splashed about in the pool. The pool area is private and great for getting a sun tan. It was good to catch up on UK TV and we tried to follow the French news on local TV. Languedoc has everything, beaches, lakes, historic sites and even theme parks - all within a short drive of the villa. I would recommend this villa without hesitation!

The owners have taken great care to ensure that you arrive fully armed with information about how to get there, what to expect at Les Trois Oliviers and basic information about the area. This well equipped property is in a great location, afffording a wonderful view of the surrounding area, as well as being well placed to get to the coast if sea and sand is what you are after, or the hills to the north, if you prefer walking in the varied countryside of the Herault area. For those who just want to take it really slow, the poolside at Les Trois Oliviers will be enough to quickly get into the holiday mood. The owners also provide contact details for english speaking, local contacts in case of unexpected problems with the property. The A-9 Autoroute is easily accessible and day trips to Nimes and Carcassone are with easy reach.

Professionally handled rental, detailed instructions, opened the way to a delightful stay in a well-appointed villa. Discerning owners have made this medium-sized house very comfortable. Charming kitchen overlooking the Herault Valley, excellent outdoor/balcony dining area; comfortable semi-formal lounge and dining area, made for a great layout. Pool is small but adequate for non-Olympians, and nicely private. Extensive private patio for BBQs and star-gazing. Comfortable and well appointed bedrooms.
Local environs are v. pleasant; Pezenas is a rural town with large Carrefour, and excellent local GP for minor mishaps. 20 min car drive to the Med for beach and swimming, and seaside towns with more character and dining options that Pezenas. On balance - a great destination.

We had a fantastic holiday at this villa. It was better than we imagined it would be from the website description. It was very well maintained, well equipped and spacious. The view from the kitchen French doors was beautiful. We really enjoyed having breakfast at the round kitchen table, with the doors open, looking out across fields to the hills. Also, in the evenings we enjoyed the wonderful sunsets and also the view up to the old buidings in the local town which were warmly lit up.
The pool was a great place to cool down after a day at one of the nearby beaches and we enjoyed cooking a number of tasty BBQs and sitting outside on the rear veranda in the evenings.
The local area was great. We only stayed for one week but could easily have stayed longer. There were good beaches, such as Vias Plage and Marseillan Plage, within about a 25 minute drive and lots of pretty villages/towns to visit. We also enjoyed a day out in Sete where we watched the "Joute Nautique"
The owners seemed friendly and approachable and provided excellent customer service.

We stayed at the villa for 2 weeks in July/Aug 2009 and had a very enjoyable time. We found the description of the property on the website to be accurate, so no nasty surprises, and thought that the price represented fair value for money.
The area is very attractive and my wife particularly liked the small shops and cobbled streets in Pezenas. The villa is situated in a quiet location on the outskirts of a quaint village, but within easy travelling distance of the coast and regional towns. Even a bull ring in Beziers, though thankfully no bull fighting when we were there.
Tried numerous local wines and did not find a bad one!
