Nice room.
Booking.com didn’t mention the 23 dollar resort fee. Feels like a ripoff. They should include this in the total price. Very disappointed about this.

Location
Motel Six would have been cleaner. The outside of the building is dirty. The walkways have food spilled and spread everywhere. People leave food from room service outside doors and it sits in the heat all day. It isn’t picked up until later in the day or over night. The ice machine on level 2 didn’t work. The inside of the room smelled horrible. I had to buy an air freshener to be able to stay in the rooms. Tile floor hasn’t been washed in weeks, small hairs all over the bathroom in the corners. There are no privacy curtains. Just see through shades and decorative drapes in sides that do not close. Nothing to block out light at night.
We came back one afternoon and a maid was chatting with a male friend outside of the room she was cleaning. It was not an employee and very suspicious with a hotel room door open. We saw this behavior by several females chatting with men at hotel entrance doors. I wouldn’t leave any valuables in your room at this location.
Oh there is no in room safe either

I like fact that it was a historical hotel and that there was a lot of history in the area. I also liked the amount of restaurant and shops near by and San Marcos golf course.
That when I booked my reservation I was given one price and upon arrival I was given a different price. I had to spend various hours during two days to get it corrected. The other issue was debris coming out of the air ducts.

The bar food was excellent. The room was on the ground floor and a corner room so it was quiet and quite large. The furnishing felt a little dated but the room was quite nice overall.
The room was next to an alleyway (within the hotel complex) that was used by the restaurant service staff and so it was actually quite noisy (especially early in the morning). It also meant that the small patio area was not all that private and we found ourselves breathing in the smoke from the hotel staff that smoked just around the corner (in the alleyway).

Location was great. Loved having my room right outside the pool area. Staff was nice.
The room was dirty. The pillow on the couch looked like someone threw up on it. The body wash in the shower was empty. The bed was uncomfortable.

Nice location for our needs, good size room, quiet, pretty grounds. We enjoyed the outdoor breakfast area.
The carpet seemed like it needed cleaning. Pillows were a bit hard for me.

The water pressure was not good in the shower, they also did not replenish toiletries and coffee for the room, we had to call everyday for those and towels.

The room was nice & good size with a beautiful shower & bathroom.
It was a little on the pricey side.
7.0 / 10.0

The property is located close to several eating places and shopping.
The location is loud most nights, the walls are not thick enough to keep sound from going all over. The water takes about four to five minutes to get hot, even on the ground floor.

Charming hotel & with friendly staff

I liked the lobby, the guest room and the staff. We had a few drinks at the lobby bar and the drinks were reasonable with good pours. I especially liked the rate even including the annoyingly elevated "fees and taxes'.
The breakfast place looked boring so I walked somewhere else. The food and service may be great but I didn't try it. I went to try to find the golf course and saw the clubhouse from afar as it looked like a lot of construction or something going on. Finally, I lot of the outdoor plants under the corridors looked like they were struggling or dead or both.

We like the location and the updated lobby/bar with music playing was nice.
Room 302 needs some serious help. There is a very loud click/bang sound every time the A/C goes on or off. The bathroom fan is very noisy and the bathroom door does not close.

The lobby/bar area. Live entertainment. Walking distance to great restaurants/bars!

Front Desk team was very nice.
There was a dirty wine glass by my front door when I arrived. It was never picked up the three days I was there,
