Liked that the location was close to where I was bending robe the next morning. The bed was extremely comfortable probably the most comfortable bed. I’ve slept in in a hotel in a while.
Very dark not enough lighting. The coffee pot was so tucked away. We did not find it until we were ready to leave. Went down just after 7 AM for coffee and breakfast. A few guys said hope you’re not down for breakfast because there’s not much available. After going into the breakfast hall, there was very little sausage in the heating compartment. Nothing for waffles, no milk for cereal, cream cheese, but no bagels and needless to say just no food options. We checked out around 8:30 AM 8:45 again checked to see if breakfast was stocked and nothing. Nobody was at the front desk when we left to check out so we just left our key.

The young lady at the counter was exceptional! Give her a raise!
A lot of little things. But for me, the toilets were way too low. 6'8 400lbs, with bad knees, did not make for a comfortable time getting on and off.

Location
No ice on the floor, mention Ed to clerk. The
toilet would continue to run unless taking the back off and closing the flap inside. Otherwise the stay was ok

Very friendly staff, clean room, quiet night stay. Good breakfast
Pricey for a one night stay.

I think Booking.com should tell guest way ahead of time that there is construction at a hotel. Heavy chlorine smell on first floor.

Great breakfast. Nice rooms. Clean.
They are doing some construction. Would have been nice to know they were gonna start hammering at 730 am.

The beds were pretty comfortable.
The property was under construction. Workers were shaving styrofoam and it was flying EVERYWHERE! I was irate because I was inhaling it (you couldn’t breathe without inhaling it!) it got in everyone’s hair and on our clothes. It was frustrating. The employee at the desk said that there wasn’t anything she could do about it.

The staff was excellent. The front of the hotel was under construction but the staff helped us out and made it easy to understand where to go. The room was clean and quiet. Super big and clean

we were main floor which made it easy with children and elderly.
the outside grounds could have been cleaned up better. my daughter steps on a dead baby bird upon arrival.

nothing
It was being renovated. Which typically wouldn’t bother me. However, how the contractor had organized the site and the materials was not “friendly” to the paying customers. The quality of the interior finish renovations was very cheap, incorrect, and overall bad. The interior room window had failed and had condensation ( to the point it was hard to see out the window)
We specifically chose this Hampton Inn because it had a hot tub. However, it was broken.
Coffee: Two out of three mornings it was stale and cold. This is not typical for Hampton Inns.
Cleanliness: the hallways and stairwells had not been vacuumed in awhile.
Management: the night manager was non-existent.
Cost: I’ve stayed at a lot of Hampton Inns. This was one of the higher priced ones, but the poorest quality.

I was told I would get an aarp discount and I did not

Very little, although the bed was great!
This property was under full construction with most of the building wrapped in plastic construction material. The entrance was entirely closed off & I saw NO signage directing me where to enter. It turns out, after much driving & wandering about, you enter through either unsecured side doorway & you then wander further, eventually to the unattended front desk! Awful! My room’s window was also wrapped with outdoor plastic, so I had zero visibility to anything outside. Quite an unsecured & tenuous feeling! The breakfast buffet was quite underwhelming, with cold eggs & sausage and no one attending to things. I did not finish anything I selected!

the room was dirty like someone had walked
through it with muddy shoes. the toilet wasn’t working properly. and the hotel was under construction which left two side doors completely open for anyone to walk in. didn’t feel very secure. also sounded like the workers were working on the roof after 11pm and walking around and dropping stuff. we were on the 3rd floor and there was no one above us. the room smelled of old cigarette smoke and the refrigerator didn’t cool down at all. our food was ruined due to this issue. the sheets were dirty and gross.

the strand were great!
someone needs to be more thoughtful of the handicap accessibility rooms. there’s ZERO grab bars by the toilet and they are standard height.
also the bed is much to tall for disabled folks to get in and out of with out help or risk of falling.

the breakfast was unexceptional and barely warm. the location was in the middle of no where.
Location was poor in that no restaurants nearby. No one offered any information on where to eat.The toll plaza was not manned and did not take credit card payment. Luckily we had brought $15 in US quarters. We went into LaPorte to find only one decent restaurant - Enzo's. We ate twice at the local golf club the Briar Leaf which was good food/value. The parking lot back door had a sign that said "card access only for your protection" - in fact the door was broken and would not lock. Some of the front desk staff seemed very junior and new. Building overall felt quite tired. Overpriced. Fridge in room so noisy we had to unplug it to sleep.
