The guy on the night shift was very suspect. And there was people walking around looking suspect. And I think they gave somebody my room key as well which I did not like and the guy called my phone who work at the front desk on a block call. And I think that they shouldn't even have a $50 deposit at that cheap hotel.
That the had cameras.

Leaving right away
The night manager was the most obnoxious, aggressive, unfriendly and unprofessional representative that I have encountered after decades of travel l.
He seemed to boast that he had over 5 arguments with normal customers with families that very evening. He stated that he preferred the normal junkies that just come to fix instead of the demanding tourists.
Just avoid the location, there was much unsavory activity occurring in the immediate vicinity. However, the night person was sufficient enough of a deterrent that I left after my 6 minute encounter

Close to the venue for our concert we attended.
The lock to the room hadn't worked in days! We were told they wouldn't give us a discount for it either. We had to call the front desk to come manually unlock the door to get back in the room each time we walked out. As smokers, we had to walk over to a designated smoking area each time, so propping the door open was our only option. In a motel on Van Buren, this was horrifying. We were sure we would get robbed at some point. We had nowhere to park because we had a trailer attached to our truck, so we had to take up multiple spaces sideways and got blocked in. The room was filthy- nothing was wiped down, floors were sticky, mold in restroom. Walked to the restroom in socks and the socks were black. There was a drug addict next to us that was up all night, hollering and pacing around our truck. Management told him to go back inside a couple times but never made him leave. We knew we didn't get a 5-star place, but for literally the same price as the ritzier places on the same block, I was expecting so much better.

Worst stay of my life,
Blood stains on the bed, even after room service changed my sheets there was still blood stains, so much soap scum in the shower I didn't feel comfortable taking a shower had to use the shower at my gym, the door does not close all the way so you can hear everything outside and some of what's going on in the parking lot making it hard to even sleep especially in the morning with everyone making noise I did not get the sleep I wanted, also there was not any breakfast or food of any kind and my room did not provide coffee as it said on the room details or tea;
complete false advertisement

The price.
The air-conditioning was great.
The carpet in the room looked dirty.
The room smelled like cigarettes.
The bathroom door was broken, and the towels were like sandpaper.
The sheets were not clean at all, I found hairs on one of the beds. So we slept on top of the bed.
The wifi didn't work properly.

The room had a great location in downtown Phoenix. Close to Pizza and a McDonalds.
The floor appeared that it was not cleaned, the sink area was too narrow, the window was too high up and the bathroom light was on a motion sensor with a short timer, where you had to keep moving or motioning to keep it on. Had to shower in the dark.

The service. Very nice man working there (Mark). Was given a full refund when asked if we could have our deposit back.
The door for our room looked like it had been broken into multiple times. No lighting in the parking lot that was necessary to feel more safe. There were several beat up cars in the parking lot that looked like our car could also be broken into. If we had felt safe at all we could have taken pictures to show how dilapidated the building was. Fortunately for us when we asked for our deposit back, the man on duty, Mark, gave us a full refund.
