Don't go here

Leaving

It was filthy. The check-in was long and rude. It was half burnt down. There was a group of people standing outside smoking and drinking. It was scary. I couldn't stay there. I had to get a different roppom at another hotel. It was terrible.

Not that great

It was a place to sleep and shower

Everything in the operational part of the hotel was “make shift” ( due a fire in the other part last year) Full kitchen amenities, but nothing to cook or eat with, very old and rickety “slap together” place.

Close to airport, a place to lay down, this is not the ritz, expensive for what it is, but it’s an expensive area.

Close to airport, free airport shuttle was easy to use, room was large, was cheapest on booking.com in the airport area, still very expensive to me.

Half of the property is burned down because of fire damage last year, there’s a kitchen within the room but not one utensil to actually use any of it…… very expensive for what quality you get, I think this is an expensive area but still for the price I payed I would expect better quality.

Priceline/booking should immediately remove this hotel listing immediately for safety.

This hotel was horribly misrepresented on Priceline. Not a single aspect felt safe or met any standard safety and cleanliness expectations.

This hotel should be removed from all booking sites for the immediate future. Firstly, half of the hotel has suffered extensive fire damage, and is boarded up. As this building of the hotel presumably housed the check in desk, the “front desk” has been seemingly moved to the second building and now occupies a first-floor hotel room. Our door frame was splintered and had A barely functional door jamb, and the kitchenette fridge has numerous dents and potential knife stabs (and didn’t actually appear to be operable). One of the two beds lacked sheets, and the bathroom felt as if it needed a healthy dose of bleach and had an insect infestation. The room DID have a balcony, as advertised, but it was littered with broken plastic furniture. Guests (?) appeared to be loudly using the hallway window outside of our hotel room for smoking at 2am and the whole experience was bizarre . This was possibly the least safe and clean hotel our party has encountered. I suspect many of the reviews for this property are inaccurate or heavily filtered, so if this somehow makes it as a review on the website, please avoid booking the America’s Best Value Inn on Spenard in Anchorage.

Very spacious. Good breakfast.

Sketchie person with pitbull staying at Inn made stay seem threatened. This resident would let the dog off leash near the entrance and dog went beserk when another resident took her dog for a walk. I am sure other resident was frightened and threatened. The cable box was not in room when we arrived and it took some time to fix the situation. Think box was stolen by previous guest.

We were a bit scared.

Absolutely nothing. I can’t believe this is actually a real hotel and not a movie set from Breaking Bad.

The picture of the hotel entrance on the booking site? That is now a burnt-out shell of a building. The place you will stay is behind that: 3 moldering floors, no elevator, weird smelling stained carpet throughout, warped doors. Good luck!

Disappointing

Check in late night/early morning

Cigarette butts on the balcony, was not really clean feeling, asked for ground floor and got 3rd floor, part of hotel had been burnt and boarded up

Not recommended except location and price were important to us

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We were a large group and were able to check in early into a few rooms which helped immensely with the luggage. Breakfast provided is helpful and sufficient. Free shuttle to/from airport is very helpful. Public bus stops are close by.

Room smelled of smoke, wasn't clean, only one towel provided

Never stay there!!!

Americas Best Value-Anchorage. Nothing-except the woman at desk was ok-tried to be friendly. You should take this hotel off your recommendations-now!!!! The condition of the entire place was worse than horrible!!! Rooms were vintage extremely old-table broken, dark, drapes falling off windows, sofa-wouldn't sit on, barely any lights in entire room, paint cracked and flaking, flooring was old patched tile, halls-dark -with huge pile of dirty laundry piled high outside laundry room on floor. front entrance window cracked and broken-looked like a bullet hole in area? Across the parking lot there had been a fire in their other unit. Breakfast was hardly considered a breakfast-only had coffee. I really didn t want to spend the night there-hardly slept but did t have a car and it was late at night.

I would like a refund or whatever you can do for some refund. Husband said-"don t ever book with bookings again!!" We did a bookings a few weeks earlier in Colorado and was wonderful,so not sure if my husband's advise is right?

Could not recommend

The only redeeming factor was the bell man/handyman Fred who got the TV to work, brought us coffee maker and was the only staff member that was helpful and pleasant.

It is very old, not well kept up. There was a fire in another building a year or two ago, nothing has been done, debris still on roof, windows boarded up. We were told to wait at door 6 at airport, shuttle didn't come. We weren't told the van would have a different name. It was waiting at door 5. No hot water. Left after 1 night, preferred to lose second night rent to be gone.

Would never stay here again and I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone!

What I like about the property was that it was located next to a great Korean restaurant and proximity to the airport. The young ladies at the check-in desk were very pleasant to deal with. They were very welcoming and friendly!

Everything! The property looked run down. The main building in front is closed due to a fire from last year, so the check-in office is around the corner and it was cramped. The room we stayed in smelled horrible and the bedsheets were dirty. Also, as we walked up to the our room it looked like the door was opened, it wasn’t, but the doors are so old that they don’t close all the way. We felt so unsafe!

checked out early to minimize the time spent there

Bathroom sink and toilet were clean, and soap and toilet paper were in adequate quantities; bath tub appeared clean but I didn't use it. Lighting was adequate.

Hole in wall beneath switch plate cover, bathroom faucet wasn't securely fastened, it appeared that one of the beds had dirty sheets on it, drapes weren't fully attached so left gaps, flooring was a mix of old and replaced stuff (seemed to not be level), suspect that I received flea or bed bug bites from staying in the room. Generally shabby, including hallway leading to room.

room wasn’t ready on arrival at 00.30 lots of police around sink blocked no duvet on 1 bed no towels mouse running around the room
