Weekend getaway

Came here as a weekend get away from New York. Main reason for booking was the price, proximity to NY and the indoor pool. Pool was heated and the area was clean. Staff is attentive and friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. We absolutely loved the blankets. Both onsite restaurants were good. There were plenty of places to eat within a 10 min drive. We loved our stay here so much we are going back next weekend

Excellent

The rooms are very spacious. Hotel is so luxurious. I think it should be 4 or 5 stars at least. It's comparable to Marriott. 3 stars is under-rated. I used the pool-it's nice with warm water. Staff is very nice.

Don’t stay here because the staff are unresponsive and seem like to me that they were a lot of problems

I don’t like nothing about the property. I think it is definitely not a full star in my view and the reception and staff were no help.

Management were less than helpful.

The bar was nice.

There was a party on the tenth floor. The manager had to break up a fight around 9pm and I had to call down down to reception twice due to the loudness of the same crowd. loud bass, yelling, smoking, you name it. The police came and did nothing. I fell asleep around 3AM due to the party finally settling down. HORRIBLE experience both nights I stayed.

APA was Awesome

Everyone was very nice and pleasant during my stay here. I wish they just had maybe a continental breakfast or something to offer. They do have a restaurant and lounge on site though which is helpful for dinner.

Everything was good. Just would suggest a possible continental breakfast or even grab and go bags.

The hotel was very nice. They have a restaurant and lounge on site. The staff was very nice. The room i stood in was pretty spacious.

The rooms could use a microwave. But other than that, no real complaints.

no hot water for a winter night stay, horrible

Hotel boiler was down, there was no hot water for the entire duration of my stay. there was no apology or any compensation from the hotel.

The perfect getaway!

it was our second time staying there and it always gets better! I love the location, you sort of feel like you’re far away and in a private setting but thankfully the malls and other stores like target are like 5 minutes away!

Awful bugs

The place was loaded with cockroaches. I told staff about the room we were on even taking the smooshed roach with me in a bag. I was told they did not want to see it. They moved us to another room that had dead cockroaches in the tub and toilet . Then my husband went down stairs in the elevator and killed another roach in the elevator. At that point I called booking.com and they called the hotel. I did receive my money back . However the only hotel we could find with availability was not in a good part of town and not a desirable hotel at that but they had no cockroaches. The reason we could not find availability was because other at that hotel left before we did for the same reason. This was our first wedding anniversary trip and honeymoon weekend since we did not get one prior. So to say our honeymoon weekend was ruined is an understatement. I feel the Howard Johnson's needs to make restitution for our honeymoon since ours was ruined due to their uncleanly and uncaring conditions. The blonde lady at the front desk gave my husband the excuse that someone else brought them in. All I know is it was not us I don't have these in my home. And if someone else brought them in and staff didn't know them why did it effect the other guests. Also the hotel had an indoor pool that was also a factor in our reservation. It was closed for the season. Who closes an indoor pool for the season. We live in Lancaster Pa and plenty of hotels with indoor pools are open. I feel they were to lazy to heat the pool.

Superb

Room was large, and the staff were very helpful, courteous, and warm / welcoming.

The ice machine on our floor didn’t work, but that’s really not a big deal at all. I look forward to booking here again.

Uncomfortable

convenient location

No microwave in the room. We had to go down to the lobby to heat our food up. Out king size mattress was sunk in DEEP in the middle of the bed. very uncomfortable.
