Couldn't stay because the silica dust

The construction was a no go for me an my family.parking lot was full of material, silica dust everywhere..then to get charged from booking.com is crazy.i cancelled because my son is allergic to silica dust. Please beware of posting hotels that don't meet anyone's standards..

Their name was NOT “Wingate by Wyndham” it was the “Sleep Inn”, our room was gross, we felt hoodwinked, and we canceled

PLEASE READ!!! Take a chance here if you dare. Upon arrival we thought we were at the wrong place because their name was NOT “Wingate by Wyndham” it was the “Sleep Inn” and that was not communicated to us. I saw some reviews for renovations but our room and our colleagues rooms were in terrible conditions. Patched up holes in the walls, stains on the mattress and pillows, dripping water in the shower, and mold on the shower door. The facility and room was not only outdated, but not well cleaned or maintained. Nor did the online pictures reflect the real condition of the room. I am disappointed and feel like I was hoodwinked. I wish I had taken some pictures for context, sorry… Needless to say, we canceled our reservation and went elsewhere.

Don’t stay here

Really gross. Extremely outdated and dirty hotel. Peeled paint, pee stained mattresses, comforters had stuffing falling out, doors slammed, carpet looked like it was from the 1980s. For the fact I paid $120 for the night, disgusting and they should be ashamed they let it get like this. Absolutely DISGUSTING

Staff kept this place from being a fleabag hotel.

Very friendly and attentive staff. A+++++ for them!!!!!! Everything was also very clean.

The ironing board in room was broken. The room itself was very worn; paint worn off doors, wallpaper cracked and peeling, holes in walls, wood splintered in areas on door where an old lock used to be, stained carpet. Also, walls very thin and noise comes through easily. Pool area was under renovation so couldn't use that. If this place hadn't been so clean otherwise and the staff so great, I would have thought it a dive and gone somewhere else.

Exceptional staff and very clean room.

It was a very clean room and the staff was exceptionally friendly and supportive. I really can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff was. They were engaging and thoughtful and seemed to want to make their guests as comfortable as possible. The king bed was very comfortable and the linens were soft. Breakfast had a good amount of choices from hot items to cold items. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Owensboro.

I don’t have anything negative to say about this property. I hope you’ll take care of your current staff because they are exceptional. And that seems to be hard to find these post pandemic days.

Could have been better if peaceful

The location was perfect the room was perfect

Staff could have handled the situation with room 204 and 206 better than what they did. Me and my husband were disturbed by someone beating on our door and we were up until 1 am with teenage girls running up and down the halls screaming and slamming doors. The situation was pretty well looked over

It was what I expected for 74 dollars

I did like that there was free breakfast.

I didn't like that the hot tub was gone and all that was left was a huge hole in the floor with traffic cones around it. I also didn't like that the pool was freezing despite the fact that hot water was circulating from the pumps. I didn't like that the room had damage to all the walls and it made me think that the facility itself was not maintained

super clean, friendly front desk staff front desk was so helpful that they even provided me a charging block for my phone because I forgot mine. Greatly appreciated!

breakfast staff made my granddaughter severely upset by telling her she wouldn’t serve her any food without her having shoes on. I mean, who does this to an 8 year old?

Very good

Not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. Compared to other hotels across the nation this one is great for the price. Breakfast was good (eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, as well as the more standard cereal, muffins, etc.) The rooms are modern and clean, and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good stay.

Not really a complaint, but they need to do away with the carpeting in the rooms. Too hard to keep clean. They inevitably end up stained over time.

Did the job but, has really gone down hill over the past year.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Price was a little high for what you get but not too terribly bad.

There was a lot of hallway traffic. Waaay too many slamming doors. But eventually about 1am they all quieted down.

Enjoyed my stay with my grandson and the hotel fit the accommodations as expected.

Hot breakfast every morning. Pool was decent and never crowded.

No smoking area...

i stayed for a week, staff was unacceptable, place a wreck, then they tow my vehicle at my $280

a place for my wife and i to stay, the breakfast was decent,

staff attitude, staff incompetence, poor house keeping, rooms dirty, faulty amenities, no laundry, no vending on all floors, breakfast was late, breakfast area was unclean/unsanitary, staff did not keep up with demand-no food available unless requested---yet staff was sitting in area eating--just rude unprofessional attitudes. a housekeeper said she saw mw on camera in parking lot, saying she saw me, i was on my phone with my mother, same one again, in front of staff and other customers, i asked to show footage , she said i was on phone with a business call i took that morning, in my room, but she stated it was the evening before i was on phone in parking lot. felt privacy violation, very much, very uncomfortable staff enviroment

worse staff ever-decent facility if the staff was competent. bad experience-terrible staff

breakfast menu and products are good. breakfast area being ready for breakfast, cleanliness, and availability of food was less than pathetic. staff wassitting in dining area, all eating, and no food available. i felt as if i was offending them in asking when more food would be availabe, as i was on a time lime. the only response i got was from the house keeper, to use the tongs for the one pastry i grabbed, the tong was not in the pastry case, she said to use "one of them by the eggs and other stuff"? i guess i didnt like much, if at all. pool was filthy, hot tub down, and no towels. i asked about the pool/hot tub/towels,, i was told to look around and figure it out, it is what it is???? something to that affect. the more i think about the experience, the more it upsets me.

staff was lethargic, seemed as if i was disturbing them just to check in or out, house keeping and maintenance issues abound, staff gave my family a sense of creepy--they didnt seem to like their job, and talked about it, asking for tips? after a week, i advised i would be away 1 night, and tipped $20 to the night desk, they towed my truck and cost me $280- i stayed 1 nigt in another facility to compare,. staff behaves downright disrespectful to guests, as in playing dumb and very slow, phones ringing, just in adequate talent, no talent. like the convicts are running ther prison. i felt they were up to something, or hiding something, and had privacy issues with their behaviorin our experience, and invasion of privacy,

I would recommend staying in a cardboard box under an overpass before I would recommend this hotel.

What did I like? I liked checking out! John was nice. That’s it.

The room was gross. Carpet was so stained I had to lay my towels down to walk on. My heater didn’t work the first two nights I was there. Replaced for my final night. There was a hair and dirt in my shower and another hair in my sink. The shower dripped all night. The pillows on the bed were tiny squares. The iron was on the floor. Someone stuffed some nasty tissue in the peephole. Breakfast was gross. Cold. Understocked. Very limited selection and ran out quickly.
