Great Place To Stay

Really, I loved pretty much everything. The staff were hospitable and helpful. I would stay here again!

I wish that y'all (and many other motels) would steam clean/shampoo the carpets in the rooms. I wear white socks and even when I don't leave the room (and am not wearing shoes) my socks end up being dark brown. I'm sure the room had been vacuumed. It needs a deeper cleaning than vacuuming.

This is our hotel to stay during our next visits

The stay was wonderful and staff very helpful and served with a smile

The room did have a smell, so we bought cleaner and sprays to clean and freshen how we liked.

A highlight of a full on road trip from Charleston to JFK

Stayed at Southport for the 4th July celebrations (we had discovered Southport after watching the Safe Haven film). Hotel pool was most welcome in the heat of the afternoon, before we headed back into town for the fireworks. Good breakfast.

The pool was dirty and the carpet was old and the bath tub was old and the AC wasn’t working good it was hot in the room it wouldn’t let me set it. And the bath towels look dirty with stains

Beware, this place is below standard! Dissapointing.

Nothing!!

Breakfast options were terrible without any healthy foods including the old oranges. We are dairy free. The decaf coffee urn was empty as well. My husband was taking a shower and there was only 1 bath towel. I asked housekeeping and there were none on the cart. The young man said to go to the front desk where the lady said there was none available. Frustrating! Overall, this was a disappointing place.

A great value, great location.

We had an issue with kids above us jumping off beds. I called to ask if we could be moved, and we were moved to a suite! It was really nice!

I love this place. I'm booking Wingate every time I visit Southport, no questions asked.

Everything was very comfortable. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive, along with housekeeping. The entire hotel was clean, beautiful, and peaceful.

The only problem would be the toilet in the room. It was very loud when flushing and a bit concerning.

The hotel was very clean and it seems to be a new building with new furniture and fixtures. The bedding was very comfortable.

The air conditioning unit made a lot of noise. Bathroom did not have enough toilet paper and had to request more rolls from front desk. The breakfast buffet was poor. Only coffee, juice and a waffle maker. No variety.

Had a great stay

near south port

check in was at 3 we checked in at 330 and room was not ready waited down stairs in lobby for 15 mins was told room was ready. go up and room is not ready had to wait another 10 mins. I was not a ass about it and staff was very apologetic but it should not have happened

It was GREAT

I was glad to find a hotel that still has a bathtub. Loved the comfort of the bed and pillows!!

I didn't like that the free breakfast was dinky . Wasn't anying to really pick from. Over all, the stay was great. Breakfast option would be the only reason I wouldn't stay here again.

When you walk into the hotel lobby, there is a strong scent of bleach or some other chemical. We found a dead but bug on the floor as we walked into our room. Then my husband found two more dead bugs. As we were eating, he saw a roach run across the dresser. The room was old and dated. We were placed in another room, which was okay.

Matress was a bit tough, tub drained very slowly. Standing in water in shower.
