Peter and Denise are great hosts. We talked with Peter a bit on our first day staying, and we were impressed by his passion for taking care of the Inn. He is a very down to Earth person, and you can tell he works extremely hard to make everything perfect for his guests!!
If I had to change anything (which I wouldn’t) I would say it would be nice if breakfast went until 10 . However, that is a personal preference from me because I sleep later on vacation.

The grounds are lovely, well maintained with beautiful flowers
Not impressed with the hospitality. In summer 2023 Covid protocols still in place for self check-in. During the pandemic, I understood the need for them, but at this point it seemed like lazy hospitality when observing others getting welcome tours and given recommendations for activities. I understood a continental breakfast was offered, but muffins made from mixes, no protein except for hard boiled eggs on single serving plates and no seasonal fruit though it was the height of berry season conveyed cutting of corners at every opportunity. I knew I’d booked a small room, but expected comfort for the price payed. However, the bed was uncomfortable, the window unit air conditioner reduced sunlight, never cooled the room so was constantly on and it (or something else) gave the room an odd smell. There was a large mini refrigerator in the room, but it had no freezer shelf making it useless for beach goers needing to keep ice packs cold. Each of these things alone are not enough to seek someone out to share dissatisfaction, but the totality of them was enough to make us feel cheated when we’re familiar with lodging in the area and what they cost.

Continental breakfast was very good . Different offerings each morning of our stay. The kitchen hostess was lovely and so pleasant. The patios are inviting and comfortable. It was fun to have breakfast outside. Denise and Peter are perfect innkeepers!
Room size was small but manageable for a short stay.

Great selection of healthy and fresh breakfast choices. Every day the selection was a bit different. We liked the fact that there was a choice of eating inside as well as outdoors with comfortable chairs and umbrellas. We liked that recycling was emphasized.

The proximity to the beach is excellent- truly only a 5 minute walk. The rooms are also so charming. We also loved the fire pit and enjoyed having a drink with the other guests in the evenings.

The property was beautiful and well-kept. The location is very close to Nauset Beach, which is gorgeous and one of our favorite places on earth. The room was extremely clean, so much so that I commented on that to my husband a few times. At the same time, the room was very warm and cozy. There was a continental breakfast spread each morning with coffee that had a lot of delicious and healthy options. We enjoyed the hammocks and the firepit on the property as well. We will definitely stay again!

Peter and Denise were wonderful hosts! The breakfast was delicious and it was a short walk to the beach! We enjoyed our breakfast out on the deck. They had a nice fire pit out back too. The bed was so comfy. The check in and out was so easy as we were delayed and checked in late with no problems.
Great recommendations for dinner close by too.
Nothing. Everything was great.

From the breakfast in the morning to the incredibly comfortable room, bed and beautiful surroundings in the inn — which felt like what it is: a beautiful old captain’s home — we loved every minute!
I wish we could have stayed much, much longer!

The SKI is the perfect location, super clean, and very comfortable. The owners, Pete and Denise, do an amazing job keeping the Inn clean and cozy, plus they are so warm - they even remembered us from our visit two years prior.
We wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Great location, lovely outside seating, bathroom was a good size
Considering the price, the Room was very small, bed was small, felt the bedding had seen better days and lighting in the room was poor. I’m sure there are nicer rooms on the premises but was disappointed with our one.

We really needed a mini getaway amidst this pandemic. That said, we are still in a pandemic, so we wanted a place near the beach, especially one that made us feel comfortable and safe. From the start and right at booking, we knew we made the right choice with Ship's Knees. They are following all the protocols to keep themselves and their guests as safe as possible. Thank you!
