Close to restaurants, ocean,, etc. Loved the old-fashioned character of the place. The room had an original tiled fireplace which had been converted to gas, beautiful pedestal sink, charm!
Towels need to be replaced and upgraded. More working electrical outlets would be a huge plus.

The breakfast is typical , yogurt , apples. cellophane wrapped pastries, we didn't bother as we had to leave early, but the coffee is decent.
2.5
The location is amazing, as it’s just across from San Elijo state beach.
Rooms are dank, dated, and very sad.

Location location location everything so close by coffee shops restaurants grocery stores Bars They have a bar that’s close by that’s outstanding the location is perfect. They have been outstanding work close by a lot of fun location is perfect Close to everything
No restroom door hated that .Swinging doors that look like old saloon doors . The rooms little bit outdated What’s your paying for the location which is outstanding

rooftop patio. jacuzzi.
The 2 best things about the place, rooftop area and jacuzzi you can’t use past 10:00. Night is when you would want to use these. No microwave. Only one is in the office so nothing to heat food up with past 10:00. If you run a blow dryer and the AC at the same time the electrical box trips. Happened 2 times in 2 days there.

I liked the location, the room size and the neighborhood.
The wallpaper was peeling, the chandelier was missing crystals, the paint was peeling from the bathtub fixtures (around the jets), the portable air conditioner was terribly loud, banging and sadly ineffective so I was hot all the time, and the sofa was stained. It was an expensive stay at a place badly in need of repair and renovation.

Very comfortable and clean, close to beach, shopping and restaurants!

Room decor (santa fe) was excellent. Gas fireplace worked to take the chill off. Great location with basement, off street parking. 3rd floor deck with good ocean views.
Mattress was too soft. Shower control was unworkable. Heat/AC control didn't function Exterior of building needs carpentry and paint repair. The hotel does not appear to be loved. Coffee and snacks were supposed to be available between and 10 AM only, but doors remained locked to the office until 8:15. Only 1 Keurig machine, so long wait to make my coffee.

the property is located close to restaurants, donut and coffee shop and a walk to the beach
the rooms are a little bit old and need some loving, breakfasts could have a lot more variety and not just store bought sweet breads and granola and oatmeal …. coffee was great though

Location
Dirty, mold and mildew everywhere, sewer smell, broken shower, stain of ALL kinds on rugs, sheets, pillows.
No concern from employees, when we told them about the sewer smell, he was not at all surprised. Why would they put us to that room in a near empty “hotel”.
Because most of the rooms are uninhabitable, they try to air them out during the day.
For this we paid over $500 for two nights. I will never recover from being duped into thinking this is a real , actual hotel.
Do not stay there!

The room is a bit outdated.

Location
Old dingy room with no amenities in room, TV didn’t work , only one working outlet (no charging ports) “breakfast” was not even continental and no coffee available until after 8-no in room coffee. Shower was low pressure, 5’ shower head and temp markings backwards Towels were just above paper towel quality…..but location was perfect

The room's decor was charming and warm...and the last night of my stay was the last night the hotel had guests prior to closing for renovations. I especially loved and enjoyed the fireplace and the view.
I hope they change the door to the bathroom to a 'real' full length door instead of medium-size swinging doors!

Unique older hotel with a great location.
Our room needed more lighting.

The fireplace in our suite was wonderful and the charming French Decor. The location was great for relaxing and evening walks. The holiday decorations were so cheerful and put us in the Christmas Spirit!. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Great choices of coffee in the lobby. Hot Chocolate too! Perfect for the winter weather we were having while visiting.
We would have really liked to have a microwave and small coffee maker in our room. Coffee and microwave were in the lobby only. Not far, but we had to get dressed to go there. Other than that it was an excellent. warm and cozy place to stay!

Saloon doors on bathrooms...I would recommend they change to a sliding barn door

Location was best part of the hotel. Could see ocean from the room, and only a short walk straight to the beach. Roof deck was very nice also.
I was surprised by how rundown my room was. For the price and from reading previous reviews, I understood that the hotel was old and needed updating. However, one of the bed posts in my room was broken off and it just gave it a skeevy vibe. At minimum, that should have been replaced.

I love that the hotel rooms are different themes. There is a roof top with an amazing view of the beach.
Lots of place to walk.
