The food was excellent and the staff attentive. The fruit was fresh the hot food was well made. The building was beautiful and a joy to look through. The staff could not have been nicer.
Nothing!

The old building has such a unique history with a chapel and grounds. Myra checked us in and gave us a tour of the mansion and spoke about the history. In the morning we found the path to the old lake and enjoyed the route. Bed was comfortable and the room spacious.
finishes are a bit dated.

No hot water on shower/ tub.

The building was very old but charming. The location was very quiet, no sounds from traffic.
The building was in need of a lot repair and maintenance. There only seemed to be central heating and furnace was noisy. The window coverings were not enough to keep the room dark.

Enjoy the look of the place
The walk up to the 3rd floor.

A visual delight! If you like historical buildings, this is your place. Beautifully renovated and very clean. The receptionist (I think her name was Myra) was WONDERFUL. We made plans to arrive early and she gave us a tour and explained the history of the large building when we arrived. I loved the different types of rooms, and enjoyed going up the spiral staircase to the tower room. The hallways on each floor are as huge as a little ballroom and full of time-appropriate furniture. Breakfast was delicious and hot!
This is an old building-so this is not really anything against this beautiful bread and breakfast-- but if you are handicapped, it would be a challenge to stay here. We are in our 60's and did just fine, but there are a lot of steps and no elevator that I was aware of. To take your suitcases up one or two flights of stairs might be a problem for some, although the steps are not deep. Also, the bathtubs are really cool, as they are all clawfoot, But it makes getting in and out of them difficult. Perhaps they have handicapped accessible entrances, but I didn't see them, so I would advise calling first. Another very small inconvenience (because we are used to regular hotels) is if you need to do computer work from the room, there are not any tables/desks to set your laptop on, although we made do with the furniture that was in the room. None of these minor inconveniences would keep us from returning again. It is a bit hard to find, as the entrance lane seems hidden between a street and another facility. But if you look closely, there is a sign posted at the entrance, although a bit faded.

I had a terrible time finding it, it was not well marked. There were lots of stairs, not easy for an old lady. There was no offer of assistance. I did not find out there was no real breakfast until I got there, only some obviously stale tiny muffins and coffee I had to make myself. I went elsewhere for breakfast. My bed was comfortable, but the room was dusty, especially the bathroom floor. I will not stay there again nor will I recommend it to anyone.
Were some fresh pastries and already brewed coffee really too much to ask? Really?

We loved every aspect of the mansion and will return for a longer stay in the future as we love anything that is historical.

This is such a charming bed and breakfast. It is attached to a church who owns the property. Very secluded and secure feeling. Has a really fun history and all of the rooms have their own décor theme. The small staff were so welcoming, helpful, and friendly.
With an old home, there are quirks which could be an issue for some like no elevator, slower draining tub, but for two adults without mobility issues it worked great.
Breakfast is included on Saturday and Sunday and was a small, but yummy selection.
There was not much for us to be able to complain about. For the price, this was a great stay. We are looking forward to coming back when we are in town.

Clean and beautifully decorated. Each room is so unique and the wide hallways with couches and tables were a comfortable gathering place. The grounds were pretty. There is a short walk around the small lake that was very nice after dinner. Myra was friendly and welcoming.
The claw foot tub/shower combo is charming, but was a bit small. We were there mid-week so we missed the breakfast.

The history, the elegance of days gone by. The chapel was so beautiful and so we're the rooms. The location was exceptional, very close to multiple attractions and a ton of awesome restaurants
The mansion is very old so it needs some TLC. There have been obvious improvements, it just needs a few more.

I loved my stay here. The staff were extremely friendly and generous. They were more than happy to go the extra mile to help me out, even allowing me to check out later than the usual time. Breakfast was good, too.
The WiFi was a bit slow from my room. Also, be warned that you will need to provide an accurate check in time, as the front desk is only staffed from 3-6 pm, and they require advance notice for checking in outside this window.

Old, antique filled lodging.
I love that this place isn’t some cookie cutter hotel/motel.
