Staying here feels like you are living history. The restaurants are fantastic with well made drinks and an interesting selection of craft beers.
I can’t think of a thing. The property has every type of room from centuries old historic to modern motor lodge. It’s hard to go wrong. I do miss having a full breakfast option, but the coffee and pecan rolls are really good.

Excellent

convenient location to the Mass Pike
the room was tiny. we booked early on booking.dot com and chose a low rate in the inn, but since the place was practically empty they could have found us a room with a little more space. at least two chairs in the room would be helpful. we usually stay in the motor lodge part of the complex but thought we’d try something a little nicer. it really wasn’t.

We stayed in the main house. Right at the top of the stairs from check-in. Floors are uneven. Old charm, lovely. But not so great if you have stability issues. Slept ok. Was there for an afternoon wedding opted to stay in case too much was inbibed. The place is beautiful. restaurant hrs on Sunday closed very early. We had to go elsewhere to eat a late dinner and have drinks. Might stay again...

Perfect location for what we needed! Excellent amenities in regards to the entire property, on site restaurants/food options.. cool vibe.
motor inn was VERY dated.. kitschy, which I could appreciate buuuut the addition of mini fridges, an update on the fixtures and carpet..would help the skeev factor..

The size of the room was a surprise. It was large, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The coffee, hot chocolate and scones in the morning were delicious. Enjoyed the lovely Christmas decorations

The grounds and historic inn were beautiful.
we stayed at the motor lodge. It’s in dire need of an update. The shower was cold, the furniture was worn, and the room was dark. There was no real breakfast available, even for purchase. This is very disappointing, since in the past breakfast had always been quite good.

Complimentary small muffins and coffee were ok.
Check in 4 hours after promised time was a terrible inconvenience. No hot water in shower.

decent size room and accommodations for all family members attending a wedding function there.
the woman at check in (young lady with dark long hair) was really sort of rude. very short with us, and we asked to use a different credit card than the one used to hold room but she charged the wrong one. gift bags were left at check in by bride and groom for the wedding we were attending and while checking in we heard comments being made about them, comparing them to another’s gift bags also left there. When we finally checked in we had to ask for the bag although she knew we were there for the wedding. not friendly at all and made you feel like you were a pain to deal with. hospitality may not be the right industry for her

Good value
Could use an update

Good value (although Booking.com places you in the ‘motel’ part not the historic inn). Complimentary tea/coffee all day (and excellent cookies to purchase) and breakfast. Decent restaurant onsite. Quiet spacious rooms (in ‘motor lodge’)
No tea/coffee making facilities in room (and a long walk to complimentary ones in main building).
3.5
The room and hotel was what I expected for an old in. The bakery was nice.
The food was ok, wife and mother didn't like theirs. Would have liked fresh towels daily without having to ask for it. Covid is over, regular service should happen.
4.5
Beautiful grounds, rooms were clean and spacious. A little outdated, could use we fixing up. Staff was excellent. We ate in thr taproot, food was delicious. Alicia was our waitress, very pleasant. She was definitely over worked with not much help. Overall, we will definitely come back. It was a nice stay.
Waitresses needed more help, they really hustled. They had to make all the drinks and deliver the food. Felt bad fir them.
3.5
The original building and restaurants in it were historic as expected. Restaurant dinner good and service very good. Extensive grounds so no near toads etc
Most of the accommodation is not in one of the 3 historic or new but charming buildings. They are in motor lodge buildings that are basically motels same as days inn etc. (but set in greener space). The breakfast is basically to collect and take to your (probably far away) room as there are only 4 tables for two and hundreds of guests

lovely location and amenities
thread bare carpet and very dirty old wingback chair that we wouldn’t touch
