Very Very clean and the staff were so friendly and willing to help you with whatever you needed. I would definitely stay again.

It was in the middle of town and you could walk to all restaurants.
4.5 / 5.0
Room was quiet and warm when we walked in (that was great considering we went out and didn't get back until after dinner and check in. No bad odors, everything was clean and neat. What more could one ask for when they just need the room to sleep in. Added luxury was the fridge. It was twice the size of most AND no ice build up. No build up on the tiles in the grout in that bathroom and all was finished expertly, had plenty of towels and the bed was VERY inviting with the amount of pillows given. Kind of gave you one of those jump in and cuddle sort of feelings. The bed was firm, but not hard so our backs appreciated that too. Oh, and no bedbugs since that seems to be a concern these days. The windows were caulked very well and didn't leak. Nice touch from some places we've stayed at. Carpeting was clean, no rips or tears OR stains and is commonly found in lower-priced places. Oh, oh AND there is still some cushioning under the carpet too. Woo boy, was THAT appreciated. Curtains closed all the way to make it real dark all night long. And, they trust us travelers by hanging pics in the room. They were a bit high bug still gave an air of being cozy. Don't know about the TV, in this day and age we focused on our phones for weather and such so we didn't turn it on, but I'm sure it worked. Wifi was great too. And, the door, I've got to say something about the door since this was an open travel lodge and not enclosed in a building. The doors closed perfectly with no air coming in or going out. What we found exceptional of this place and I'm afraid to point it out is that the place doesn't look like much from the outside so we were expecting far less for what they charged for the night ($55). Boy, what a surprise. That's all we did was walk around the room for about 10 minutes pointing out nice things.
Only one thing, for those who look for anything wrong, was there was some vent exhaust buld up over the bathroom tub which stood out considering everything else was great. Easy clean with a swiffer. The 4" piece of rug missing and patched at the door is from people going in and out with their suitcases so no big deal and there was no cold air coming in from under the door.

It’s located in a decent area
The bathroom door didn’t lock, nor did it have a latching mechanism. The bathroom had mildew growing on the ceiling. There was leftover trash and dust everywhere. It definitely needed a good deep clean.

clean room, nice staff
4.0 / 5.0
On the main road in Maggie Valley so it was close to everything.
There was not much I didn’t like, just wish there were more places to shop.

old, dilapidated, hot water only in the sink, outdated with good will furniture.

This is an older hotel, but the rooms are up to date and were very clean. Great bang for the buck.

Location, clean room but a little run down.
Check in staff was a little difficult to understand and took a long time.

The price was good and it was close to everything.
The bed was so uncomfortable and rooms are very outdated. The bathroom was tiny and the floors in bathroom were grungy looking. There were stains on the walls. The pictures on website are definitely deceiving.

the beds were hard. Everything else was great.

The location was fair on Soco Road, the main road thru Maggie Valley.
I was very put off by the obnoxiously gagging scent of some type of pungent overspray that the housekeeping crew utilizes when cleaning the rooms here. It was very displeasing and I kept my room door open for a long time after checking in, in an attempt to air out the room. It literally made me gag!
I booked 2 nights, but after completing my first night's stay I received an emergency call regarding my Mother back home in Ohio.
This call happened at 12:30 pm, well in advance of the 3pm checkin time where I would've had to pay for another day.
The owner / manager instead charged me for the second nights stay despite the obviousness of me being upset at the disturbing news regarding my Mother.
I felt that he certainly COULD HAVE made an exception for me in light of the circumstances.

nothing
run down rooms and the acceptance of drugs used on premises. the manger did nothing about it.

The location was close to the Indian Ceremonial Grounds walking distance.
The room was run down. Light cords were cut, air conditioner had 1 inch gaps around it allowing bugs to crawl in, the bath tub was cracked and had a rubber mat glued over it. When you stood in shower you had to avoid the center section in fear of falling through.

The owners were fabulous and super accommodating. The room was clean, the shower had good pressure and was hot and the pool was clean. Location was great as you could walk to restaurants, shops and Wheels of Time.
The motel does need some TLC however. You couldn't get a bottle of water in the freezer of the fridge as it was so frosted. The molding in the bathroom was rotted due to the shower leaking, and the outlet in the bathroom didn't work for the hairdryer. A few minor fixes and this motel could be a real gem!

it’s like going back in time to the 1950’s to a car motel, and the beds were comfy and the blankets were soft. also very close to the motorcycle museum.
