Could not have been a cuter place. I loved that it felt like a real home. I loved that you could tell that the innkeeper really had put some effort into having a positive experience for the people staying. We stayed over the 4th of July and got to stand in front of the home for their community parade. We walked everywhere- popped over to the shop the Brown Jug for charcuterie bits- walked down to the Italian shop for some italian ice pops- coffee shop and bakery and went antiquing. The benefit of the location was EVERYTHING. It was clean. It was comfortable. It was charming. 10/10
Also, breakfast was good but a little confusing on how many courses we could expect, what the process was for self serving, etc. But thats such a teeny tiny little thing.
NOTHING.
You know, we looked at "constructive" feedback of this place before booking and honestly after staying I think people have their heads up their butts on how the real world works. This place is not owned by a property management company that has a formula for hospitality they apply to their portfolio of properties and sleek marketing. This place is owned by hard working folks- managing a huge historic home, in a competitive place during a busy season. It is family run.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the luxury linens were wonderful.

The location is very convenient and the room is the same as in the photo. The owner is very nice, very friendly, and the breakfast is delicious. Lots of coffee/tea bags and snacks provided (though I didn't eat them). The surrounding greenery is nice and quiet.

Bed was not as comfortable as it could have been.
Shower area very tight.

This was the standout place we stayed at on our New England road trip. The owner gave us a tour & explained the history of the property at check-in & was so welcoming, her three-course home made breakfast was exceptional! The guest house is in a great location for exploring the whole of Cape Cod, the seals at Chatham fish pier are a must see!!
Sandwich itself is quite a small town & doesn't have a huge amount of shops/restaurants - didn't bother us for a two night stay but if we were there longer we would choose somewhere a bit bigger

Great location. Got a little history about the house by Katherine. clean towels daily. fabulous breakfast.

The location and innkeeper.
No air conditioning in room and a problem with ants in our room. You cannot bring snacks to the room without ants swarming.

The old-style vintage decor and unrushed style of the home.
The history.
The quiet relaxed locality.
The welcome and care throughout.
The breakfast! (They must home cook all night to prepare.

We had such a lovely time! We were treated like family by Kathryn the Inn Keeper! The breakfast was delicious!!!
I can’t think of anything…

Breakfasts were outstanding - imaginative and beautifully presented!
Candies, sherry & port, centrally located fridge (please eat, or throw, Linda's pasta leftovers which we forgot to retrieve when we departed), evening chocolates, etc. -- all appreciated!
We are in our eighties and need stronger lighting when reading -- a floor lamp would help.

Great host. Lovely residence.
More pictures of the room for selection. Opted for what sounded like a more deluxe version of the regular rooms (those had lovely photos). We expected more or less the same but just dialed up more, with whirlpool bath, for our anniversary as special treat/indulgence. But the pricier more deluxe room ended up very plain (even compared to the one pic on offer in advance), extremely uncomfortable chairs (seat cushions about 10 years overdue for refilling, and no arms), mattress topper narrower than bed so it felt like we would roll off it, cramped room with virtually no space on the tiny tables, the bath was just an extra large whirlpool tub but not inviting for a soak. Which could be overlooked if the room had been more inviting in general. Nevertheless, very clean, and thankfully due to major winter storm and covid we got the rest of place ie living room to ourselves so that made up for the disappointing room. Without that unique circumstance the room would have seemed overpriced and our first anniversary in 7 years somewhat ruined. Would have much preferred the more real fireplace and more pleasant appointments of the less expensive more standard room, which ironically had more space, what looked to be far more comfy armchair seating and end tables for use. next time we will book one of the other rooms, so we have a private retreat that will be reasonably comfortable. But apart from this aspect we loved it and the host could not be nicer or accommodating.
