beautiful historic building and location
the fact we were not told we were in a separate building, I think you should tell them
5.0 / 5.0
Location is fantastic. We were able to step out the door and be in the heart of the town. Restaurants, shopping, everything to enjoy a stress free week. We had a few events at the Naval Academy and were able to walk there as well. Because of the location, we had no need to rent a car. The building and rooms were clean and cozy. Beautiful historic building. Would definitely stay here again.

Street construction until 1;45 am, could not sleep. Hotel didn't notify us of this. did not offer any compensation

The room was clean. the location was great, almost everything we wanted to see was within walking distance.
Entry door to room was difficult to use. The key card had to be carefully held in horizontal position or lock would not work. We were not told in advance of this. We found out only when a staff person opened the room.
Internet did not work for two days.
TV remote changed volume only, it did not change channels. I figured out the problem myself. The set top box for the cable TV had fallen below the TV stand. Putting it back in under the TV finally got everything working.
The water reservoir for the dehumidifier filled up and it stopped working. We called hotel staff who are not on site to have it emptied twice during our 3 night stay. Nobody emptied it. It shouldn't be up to hotel guests to figure this out or tamper with it. So, it was off the whole time we were there.
The electrical outlets built into the room furniture either did not work or were so loose that nothing could be properly plugged in securely enough to properly power the device.
The front desk is in only one of the three properties, ours, the Maryland Inn is not one of them. We found this inconvenient.

4th floor king room. Awesome view!
Not a fan of forced valet parking. No on property coffee or breakfast.

I was placed in The Maryland Inn in Main Street. The history of the building is interesting but not what I preferred.
1. Placed 2 blocks away from my intended location (Governor Calvert house) without any notification. I chose the location to be able to walk to an event at the Naval Academy.
2. My keys did not work and I had to sit in the hallway with my stuff until maintenance arrived with keys that worked.
3. There were no batteries in the tv remote. Ultimately explained why the tv did not work.
4. Someone from management called to ask whether I was satisfied and hung up on me mid sentence when I started to explain my dissatisfaction. Rude.

Location perfect.
Cleanliness. Lovely. Except for a very strong mildew smell in hallway.
Beds, pillows, linens were heavenly.
The very young, I’m assuming inexperienced, young lady at front desk was very
Nice, but needs more training in greeting, answering questions, being informed about area.
The valet was hard to find the night we arrived and the next day. We just parked ourselves.
The shower bar was hung incorrectly so that the curtain hung to the floor and slid down to center of bar. Not really a problem, but might need to be addressed.

Room was dirty, cramped, in need of repair to wall and bathroom window.

Bathroom too small, very noisy air conditioner

Two young gals at the front desk had no idea how to communicate other than click away at the computers in front of them. When I asked during checkin if we had completed everything and were done. One of them looked perplexed and did not know how to answer without being rude about me not understanding her emotions of her face that we had all completed. When we checked out the next day the smae gals were again unable to carry on a coherent conversation other than the logic of the computer screens in front of them. Pretty strange feeling.... like we were talking with robots.

Enjoyed the updated furnishings and room decor in keeping with a Historic Inn . Bed was very comfortable, good closet and drawer space. Nice to have coffee pot, Refridgerator etc. Staff and Valet were very friendly, helpful and accommodating of requests. Location is perfect - can park the car and walk to shops, dinner etc.
In room air conditioner was noisy. towels could have been a bit thicker.

We stayed at the Calvert House, right on State Circle. Great location, view, historic setting and super convenient for touring downtown Annapolics. I would highly recommend to others.
Our room was on the 4th (top floor) and apparently under the HVAC system which ran all night and was loud enough to make getting to and staying asleep difficult. In retrospect I would either check the room first or stay on a lower floor in a quieter room.

The property was centrally, located and beautiful
not great instruction as to what to do with your key upon departure. I had to call and ask what to do with it and they told me just leave it in the room. Which would’ve been good information to have before I left the room.

Nice property - bad room
My room backed up to a atrium where they had a meeting that they began setting up tables & chairs for at 6am making a lot of noise. Then a singing group started practicing their music and singing for the event at 6:30am. Not exactly a good situation. Anyone in rooms 3221 to 3229 should check with the hotel to see what events are scheduled in the atrium.

No restaurant at the hotel, but breakfast restaurants in walking distance. Loved that everything was in walking distance, shopping, awesome restaurants, Naval Academy, marinas. Employees very hospitable, front desk hosts and valet attendants helpful, cortious.
2.0 / 5.0
location
useless wifi, extraordinarily uneven staff, terrible valet system (nearly made useful by extraordinary efforts of one valet) that ended up overcharging us, bathroom unheated, thermostat directly under vent and thus completely unreliable.
3.0 / 5.0
Clean nicely furnished room and bathroom, comfortable beds, very helpful staff especially on arrival in rain and crowded New Years Eve conditions
Late Sunday (January1) night, awakened by loud regular 'plunking' sounds from the bathroom. Discovered water dripping from an access panel in the ceiling above the tub; managed to quiet it with several large towels and it eventually stopped but I could not get back to sleep.
On arrival in room, found clock-radio flashing bright red with no obvious way to reset or turn off; windows faced covered courtyard, no daylight visible on beautiful bright morning; very loud disturbing sounds from heating unit every time it came on.
