Hotel had lots of restaurants and grocery stores around the area. It was very quiet but in September the beach is not busy. You can tell they are doing improvements on the property. Room was clean sheets were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed my daughters wedding and spending time with grandbabies and some quiet time alone with no distractions.
Restaurants and stores were close by.

The service was friendly. The staff were very courteous. The breakfast staff greeted us with a friendly smile and attitude. The evening staff tried to find us another room, to no avail. The morning manager was very sympathetic and we appreciated them refunding our second evening; as staying any longer was out of the question. We would not have stayed the first night but due to traffic we arrived at 7:30pm. This location is an insult to Quality Inn's, as we’ve been to many others; this was an inn yes; however zero quality!
The smell of the room was terrible; we had to open the door for over an hour to be able to sleep in it. Part of the ceiling was all scraped and appeared disgusting and we felt unsafe. The fridge door was broken and the freezer part had over 4” of ice making it useable. The bedding was too large; looking very sloppy thus resulting in it hanging all over the floor. One cover had what appeared to be paint spilt over it. Inside one bed we found an old disgusting used medical toe sleeve. The toilet seat was extremely discoloured with nasty spots. The bathroom counter appeared wet as it had a clear coating poured onto it and someone forgot to spread it out evenly. The walls were dirty and the mirror was full of hand prints; pictures below. The exterior door to the pool had no lock on it at all.

The nice lady at the breakfast facility was fantastic. She is asset to the hotel and deserves a raise for going the “extra mile” for the guests.

Bed was very comfortable. Close to the beach and historic St Augustine.
Very limited options for breakfast. Very run down and dated looking. Internet was awful. Both of us could not use at the same time.

The location is great.
Room was not clean, tub was clogged and ceiling over shower was leaking. We asked the cleaning lady, who by the way was with her 2 children, to clean the room and check the bathroom. As we watched from our car, all she did was change the garbage and replace towels. Would not recommend and will never return

Not far from the beach.
Hotel was quite beat up. Not very clean. Found old food in the refrigerator. Just not something I would ever return to. My last night I slept through a beeping noise from one of the other rooms on and off all night. Tried calling to front desk, but no answer. I was able to sleep through it for the most part but it did become very annoying.

The breakfast sucked so much.

Great location, I did not eat breakfast.

The location.
The facility was very shabby. There was a musty smell. On a three-day stay, we were only given fresh towels once. I found a dead roach on our third night of stay.
We needed to go to another hotel to purchase Old Town Trolley tickets.Which, by the way, was a lot of fun was informative.

The property is in a great location. That’s what keeps me coming back
This hotel has gone down hill astronomically and the price has gone up. I’m not sure if the hotel has change management or what. The rooms have been painted so poorly. I seen near the bathroom vanity where there was actually HAIR painted into the wall. There is some kind of clear coating on the vanity that looks out of place. It has bubbling all in it. The shower had practically no pressure. It just felt unclean. I didn’t witness any bugs. The staff at the desk weren’t very friendly or warm. The refrigerators in the rooms aren’t very cold. In one of our rooms the Fridge door was all rusty. Like really? The air conditioner smells moldy. The housekeeping did leave clean towels everyday.

We stay in St Aug all the time as we live in Jacksonville area. This was the first time staying at this hotel. We didn't utilize the breakfast but we did go to the beach, putt-putt, and alligator farm and ate dinner out.
The entire room was filthy. I took seven pictures because I really want someone to see the filth we stayed in. It was too late to look for another hotel. Parking lot and hotel grounds didn't look safe to me. I wouldn't go for a stroll at night that is for sure.

parking the only thing I can mention, which is big and mostly with no cars in it. And the reason, I suppose..., please read below.
If you are intending to stay in this motel (what is not very clear designated), please bear in mind following circumstances:
1. The building is very old, then the standards will follow.
2. The bathroom air extractor/fan/vent/noise-producer/sleep-destroyer is very loud, with no hope to shut it down as it works almost 24/7 (noticed it was only off for 2-3 hours every day). Talked to reception, they said they cannot switch it off. And please remember again IT IS REALLY LOUD.
3. The kitchen is quite small and there is always people there. Though staff, which is good, tries to accommodate guests by extending breakfast hours.
4. The motel is quite near to the beach, BUT located in the 'second' line off the beach. It looks like you will cross the road and will be there. But no. The hotels/resorts/etc which located in the first line block the way, fence is everywhere. You will need to drive from the hotel location to find the road to the beach, and the free parking is not guaranteed as it is mostly residential areas.
Everything above is not related to motel staff, which is good.
Spent 2 nights there just to visit the old town, could not wait to leave. Sorry about people who spend a week.
If you have no choice for a night, it is ok (pricewise), otherwise to add a few more dollars to upgrade.
