About this house rental
Beautiful Breton style house 10 minutes drive from Lannion with it's excellent shops, bars and restaurants and of course the famous large Thursday street market which sprawls through the whole town. Fishing, riding, good walking, cycling, land yachting and sailing are all available in the local area. The headland at Le Yaudet is not only a place of magnificent natural beauty but also an important historical site, with roman celtic remains. In the garage of the house there are 4 bikes (Gents, Ladies and two children's) on which you can explore the countryside. This is a wonderful area and this is a great base from which to explore it. Or of course just sit in the South facing garden and enjoy the peace and quiet with a glass (bottle) or two of wine. The patio outside the patio doors enjoys the sun for the majority of the day and has patio furniture. There are 4 sun beds for use in the garden. A short stroll will take you down to the headland where the Leguer river meets the sea and this has to be on of our favourite views. There are many lovely little paths that lead you around here and down to the very quiet and private little beach. We now have a lovely new creperie/bar in the village run by a lovely young couple from Normandy. Another lovely walk is along the path and towards Locquemeau which gives great views. At the end there are a is a bar and restaurant - Great for Moules Frites! But if you get in the car and explore you will be rewarded with many fine safe and quiet beaches in our little corner of Brittany. I cannot guarantee you sunshine but I can guarantee peace and quiet here in our lovely village

Hope to stay again
A lovely 3 day break in a nice part of France. The house is very well equiped and the modern kitchen is nice to cook in. The dogs loved the garden and the local cove. Visited seveal ports andenjoyed the coastal roads. Hope to stay again. Gerry made the stay easy and it was great value for money.

The property is ideal for couples or a larger family. We found everything we needed and the place was clean and modern with a homely feel.
Our stay was based around walking and general sightseeing and the location was perfect for our requirements being in a quiet residential area without losing its sense of privacy.
We would thoroughly recommend a holiday in this area and especially a stay in this house.
Gerry, the owner, was more than helpful with directions and useful information to help us enjoy the facilities on offer in the surrounding area. a really enjoyable trip.

We were completely bowled over by this property. It is obviously used as a main residence by the owner during significant parts of the year as everything from kitchen to living spaces is practical, modern and purposeful without distracting from the breton character of house or location. We ended up using one bedroom per person, simply because we could as a family of four. It is perfect for dog owners as the loop of the GR34 long distance path provides a dpectacular 60-90 minutes walk with a historic keltic harbour bay at its midway point. The next town Lannion, is particularly exiting with its mix of history, culture and quirky tourist charme. It is obviously a living town where you might meet people who are happy to let you try out your french. The spectacular pink granite coast is less than 30 minutes' drive away. It's a place you could use as a base for exploring finistere, but don't have to. Lazing in the garden between barbecues is a perfectly acceptable alternative. It's also foodie heaven with weekly markets all over the place. The butcher in Ploumilliau has arguably the best sausages in the world!

Absolutely Perfect!
Our family loved, loved loved staying in Le Yaudat!!! We had never been to Brittany before and this house exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect with a fully updated kitchen which is equipped for home cooking. We spent hours exploring the beaches, walking trails and local sites and enjoyed watching the sunsets on the rocks. I would highly recommend Le Yaudat and hope to return in the Summer months.

Lovely layout, well appointed and clean property
The house is well laid out, with all mod cons, and extremely comfortable. It is in a quiet cul de sac which is overlooked by a beautiful windmill.
We were delighted to discover that the coastal path was just a short walk from the property so we enjoyed many local walks and a swim in the sea.
We spend out time mainly exploring the many coastal path walks that were within an easy drive of Le Yaudet . The owners has left quite a comprehensive list of local attractions so, as we were feeling very lazy, we just mainly worked through it.
The house is in a very beautiful part of Brittany - a wonderful area for those of you looking for a complete break from the hurly burly of a busy life!
There is a very welcoming Creperie within easy walking distance of the
house.....spend several evenings there.........and so nice to be able to walk home after a couple of glasses of wine!
We would highly recommend this property to our friends and relatives.

Lovely house in wonderful Brittany
We have stayed here before so knew what to expect. The work that Gerry has had done to the house has,in our opinion, made a lovely house even better. It is a perfect base to explore the Finistere region with all of its wonderful beaches and villages. Even if you don't want to move far you can make use of the nice garden or laze in a hammock! Our only regret was we only had a week - longer next time!

Thank you for renting us your house, which was perfect for us - very well equipped and comfortable. We loved Le Yaudet itself and it was a great base for exploring this gorgeous corner of France. So many pretty little beaches, we managed to swim in a different one every day. We also cycled to the boulangerie at Ploulech for our morning bread thanks to the bikes in the garage - a nice touch! Would love to return.

Beautiful, relaxing holiday!
Thank you for a truly memorable holiday! :-)
Le Yeudet already was a special place to us. Everything about it we loved. The peacefulness, the beauty of the area and coastline and the house is very well equipped.
Our favourite place is definitely the headland and the cosy beach within 5/10 mins walk from the house.
We already can't wait to go back! :D
Thank you again!

A great find
This was our first holiday abroad with our 9 month old daughter, so we were a little worried about having everything we would need. We needn't have worried at all. The house and the location lived up to our expectations and we had a thoroughly relaxing and peaceful week.
There is plenty to do and see in the area, lovely walks, quiet beaches, great drives. The house itself is in a great location, only a few minutes walk down the hill to Pont Roux, less than 10 minute drive into Lannion, and a quick drive to the excellent patisserie (great cakes), plus only 5 minutes to the Intermarche.
The property is well equipped, everything you'd need in the kitchen, lots of books and dvd's plus UK tv if you want it (we preferred to relax, read and enjoy the peace and quiet).
Overall we had a great time, and our 9 month old daughter had no problems settling in. We would definitely recommend a stay here, and we will definitely be returning again.

Disappointing!
We Loved the location of the house and it was great discovering new areas, but unfortunately the house didn't live up to expectations. The kitchen was serviceable but felt in need of a good clean - the fridge needed a good wipe out and the oven also could have done with a clean, the appliances reminded me of ones I had used when I lived in rented accommodation as a student. The lounge is ok probably the best room but unfortunately you can't enjoy views of the lovely garden as the seals have gone on all the windows so they all have a smeared appearance!
There were lots of cobwebs and dust above doors etc so a long time was spent hoovering upon our arrival. The stair rail that is almost falling off was hazardous, especially for our young daughter who has been taught to hold on to rails when going up and down stairs, we felt it totally unsafe for her to go up and down the stairs without us. If we had been told of this when booking we would not have booked. The beds were comfortable but a lack of blinds upstairs is not great especially if your children awake as soon as it is light!! The bathroom needs an overhaul it is definitely a work in progress. So for us it just wasn't up to the usual standard of accommodation that we have got used to in France.

A gem
Lets just say all the previous positive comments sum up this great place , so I will make it brief and sincere. The house is surprisingly spacious with a very homely and warm feel , along with a large bird filled garden. A very short drive to the local town which offers a good choice of restaurants , bars and shops. Simply loads of fabulous beaches and coves all within easy reach as well as historical monuments and harbours. Stunning coastal drives with splendid views , again , all within easy reach. Thoroughly enjoyed our early March stay despite constant wind , rain and mist - that's how good this place is. Highly recommended , and I would think brilliant for kids. Thank you Gerry

Quiet and Relaxing
We have thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at the house in Le Yaudet. The weather has been exceptionally good for the last two weeks of September, and we have had many days when we have been able to laze in the late afternoon and early evening sunshine, while enjoying a few glasses of wine in the garden.
The house is comfortable and well equipped and has been an ideal base for visiting many of the towns and coastal areas of this beautiful corner of Brittany, in particular the Pink Granite Coast and the numerous sandy bays within easy reach.

Excellent holiday home
The house at Le Yaudet makes an excellent holiday let. We were able to genuinely relax inside and out in the lovely garden too. We are a family of 5 and the house felt perfectly spacious for us. It is clean and functional yet not without its own pleasing style.
The area is fabulous, so much to do and see. We had a fortnight there and in no way felt we had exhausted the area's charms and interest.

Lovely Gite - Great Location
We found the property to be everything the owner had said it would be - well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean on arrival. Although located in a small development of about 20 detached propertites the gite was very quiet and peaceful. The back garden was surrounded by mature trees so was particularly peaceful, private and secluded. Our evening BBQs were never once disturbed by the sound of cars or voices - in fact in the immediate vicinity of the gite we could honestly say that 'we hardly saw a soul'!
The location is wonderful. A short walk (about 7 or 8 minutes) takes you into the village of Le Yaudet and to the western side of the Legeur Estuary - a truly beautiful spot. The walk from the village along the estuary and around the headland was a highlight of our holiday and it was great to such a lovely walk accessible without having to use the car!
The whole area is very beautiful and, certainly in late June/early July, very quiet and uncrowded. We thought the landscape, and the coastline in particular, was very similar to Cornwall - with the same unpronounceable names but without the crowds!
Our whole booking was handled very smoothly by the owner who communicated with us clearly and promptly throughout and provided detailed and clear information about the gite and the surrounding area.
Overall this was a very positive experience for us and we would have no hesitation in recommending both the gite and the area particularly for someone lookng for a quiet , peaceful and relaxing holiday. We may well return!
