location
the accommodations are extremely outdated and
very badly kept with stained floors and dirty sofas
just to name a few. Also when we arrived they were
upgrading the parking lot in front of our building so
the smell was unbearable and it went to the rooms.

The Beach
We chose South Seas island in Captiva for the 4th of July weekend and it was THE WORST EXPERIENCE in years. After you pay a large sum of money, they hold the bank card and another $700 more for the room on top of the other $2,500 (or more) that you have already paid, you arrive at the room and the door is broken, the toaster is cracked, only one bed and a sofa bed, the air broken, in the bathroom there can only be one person because of how small he is, etc. The rooms had nothing to do with the photos, we took a villa (when we arrived the first sentence I said to my husband was, is it here, are you sure? 😵💫 horrible, dirty, the green areas were not pretty, the broken doors with mold, the floor mat at the door of the room, the oldest and dirtiest you could imagine. The STAFF in general a disgusting of the unpleasant, rude and incompetent starting with the Front desk since you arrive the first day you they don't even welcome you, nobody says good morning, there is no education there. The pools are small, not like the photo shows. Horrible breakfast, no variety, in the ice cream shop don't even approach first because of how rude they are and the second thing because of the SO high prices of the water they sell you is AQUAFINA $4 dollars a bottle 😳, and the chocolates at $5 dollars 😳ahh without counting that where the box is to pay there is a water leak. charge $19 or more depending of the drink...ahh and without knowing it, you see when you ask for the bill, if they give it to you, always ask for it because if they don't tell you, it goes to the room and they won't have any idea what they are going to pay. I spoke with several families in the pool while the children were playing and ALL of them expressed the same complaints that I had, the poor attention and the over evaluation of the place when everything in the room is old and broken.

towels, chairs and umbrellas were provided daily at the pool and the beach. safe, community feel. guest were friendly. great view of the bay, balcony was private and quiet
not all staff was friendly or personable. Our A/C went out on us the third night of our stay. Tricia worked quickly to get it resolved but we were still out for two days. staff didn’t inform us of all we could do, and not do. it took us an entire day to learn how to vacation there with our kids. I felt that was a wasted day for us as the parents. I would have loved more information about the property and how to navigate it from a person, not just a map. ex. We were far from the pool and needed to take the trolley and when we got to the pool we were told that no coolers were allowed. Even little things like that would have been nice to know up front.

location is great, very beautiful!
distance between resort facilities is very very, private homes mixed in on the property make a vast location but not beneficial to be so big. the term “villa” is used misleadingly to describe a block of hotel rooms with kitchens. apartment would be more appropriate. quality of food adequate, but higher quality expected at this price point.

We really enjoyed the pool and beach area.
More toddler friendly activities around pool would be nice or a playground. The villa was good but I needs some upgrades.

This a nice resort with a prime location. Outside well maintained.
Our room did not meet what we booked and paid for. The room was dark, old, extremely noisy with defective and rusted appliances. We felt as sub-client because we booked through Booking.com and not directly through the Hotel

The property and the beach is absolutely beautiful. Our villa had a great view of the gulf and sunsets.
The breakfast at Harbour Side was $27 per person and was very basic. Way too expensive for what they were offering. Some of the staff was nice but most never smiled. They don't act like they enjoy their jobs or helping the guests. Seems to be a morale problem. The nicest young man was the one who set up our chairs and umbrella at the beach.

Property is phenomenal. Pool complex is beautiful.
Some rooms need updated. Ours was nice, but could be cleaned a bit better.

Not much. Staff was rude, don’t care attitude. The resort claims things close at sunset. Not true when staff is done. They clean up and take umbrellas down. Claim high winds! As a meteorologist I was dumbfounded.

nice location
everything was old and dated. television didn't work well, had issues that impacted our stay such as the shower didn't work, water leak in kitchen, etc.

Loved the Harbourside dinner out. Rented golf cart and used the beach for my husband and son kite surfing. Being able to sit at the pool and also see manatees and dolphins go by was fabulous (while drinking a pina colada!). Just a really great vibe there.
Customer service at the ice cream shop was lacking. But the ice cream was still great!
