The property was pristine. Very clean and well kept. It felt like a step back in time. The room felt like a visit to my grandmothers house. It was quaint, comfortable, and clean. The location could not have been better. It is right on the lake with a pool, rocking chairs, dock, and outside bar if that is what you like. There is even a park and beautiful walking trail right next door.
What wasn’t to like. It was perfect.

Lots! But I have to say the staff, location, and history really stand out. The staff acts as if you’re family, waving and greeting you as if they already know you. Christina and Sarah at the front desk were so welcoming, the knowledge of art, history, and local culture from lovely woman in gift shop and to Mackenzie and Sarah serving us in Tremain’s. Their attitude, attention to detail, and just stopping to talk graciously to guests was beautiful southern hospitality. You cannot beat the beauty of old Florida and walking distance to downtown Mount Dora and whatever quirky fun event they ‘ve got going.
Only thing that was annoying was the assistant manager at the bar would interrupt his staff with directions when they were talking to customers. They were making the customer happy! He constantly seemed to try to put them off guard with criticism instead of encouragement-not a good or confident manager or team player.

Location was awesome. Pool and pool bar great. Room was large. Very relaxing atmosphere.
The Verandah restaurant food and service was poor. I ordered Caesar salad with chicken. The salad barely had any dressing and chicken (which I didn’t eat and was kindly removed from bill) was tasteless and appeared to have been boiled. Our breakfast meal we had was ok but not worth eating twice. Service both meals was awful. Servers stayed inside way to long that we had to go looking for them a couple of times for things we needed.

The room was in a great location with a view of the court yard. The room was a good size and very homey.
As it is an older hotel the AC was not as cold as I would have liked. It would have been nice to maybe have a little more air flow in the room.

Very quaint and you feel the history. The sunset was spectacular! Strolled over to the shops and restaurants which is definitely part of the Mt Dora experience. 1921 restaurant was outstanding.

Loved eating on the porch overlooking the water. Granola did not seem homemade as advertised, but fresh fruit was good. Husband’s oatmeal was tepid and dried out. They seemed short-staffed, but polite.
We told them of a price dispute we have with you $209 on website vs actual $236. They kindly offered to take care of it for us. We would go there again.

Room was clean. Beautiful location. Enjoyed coffee in the morning by the lake. There is a park in walking distance and shopping down town. Would stay again, and again. So relaxing.
You can hear everything in the rooms surrounding you. There is absoultly no noise barriers in this beautiful old building. The main door to the building bangs everytime someone comes in or out. It would not stop me from staying there again though.

The main building had a large porch with rockers overlooking the lake. A beautiful view. The Inn is located just out of the business district so it was quiet. They have a very nice bar/piano lounge and the dinner was delicious and a good value. The staff was excellent.
The room was terrible. While it was one of their less expensive rooms, it was not cheap enough for being located basically in the lobby, next to the ice machine which was being used til late at night. Bathroom was very tight, miniature sink. Either cut the price for that room in half or use it as a storage closet.

Location was quite nice. Hotel personnel were pleasant and helpful
Hotel needs to be updated. I've been to 41 countries and this is by far the worst hotel I've stayed in that cost $300/night. Peeling paint, carpet that is "coming-up" from the floor, paper-thin walls where one can here every drunk person who is returning loudly from a wedding reception at all hours of the night, bed was very uncomfortable with the mattress feeling like it had been purchased in the late 1990s and it was the cheapest one at that time, our first room had plumbing that was bad, etc. etc. Instead of putting all that money into their pockets, the owners need to invest in restoration and make that $300/night an experience that can be justified. In its present condition, this hotel is definitely not worth the money!

The location was beautiful. Food was great. Enjoyed piano bar at night.
The wall air hit directly on face in first bed. No way to redirect. The lack of counter space or vanity space was a challenge. Did not look as nice as pictures.

the pool was big clean and well maintained, as is the grounds. The hotel looks beautiful and historic with a great veranda to sit and admire the lake view with a drink in hand
the room was ample and has a historic feel about it but they need to update the carpeting and a few things to make it more comfortable.
