Restaurant staff was not at all cooperative.
We had to travel 30 min for food cause of our dietary requirements.

Dinner room service meal was excellent. Delicious and timely delivery! Jacuzzi and wonderful shower in room to relax. The entire staff, friendly, and professional. Shout outs for excellent guest service from Becky & team! Thank you, Becky! You are awesome! The valets, all remembered my name. I felt like VIP! I live by the beach in Honolulu and have previously lived in Poipu for 15 years! My go to spot to relax!
Privacy on lanai area, but was rarely out there to hang out. Could see a sliver of beach. I liked the privacy of room.

only a minor suggestion- to add room freshener to the bathroom.

beautiful spot and really nice staff.
we had two coffee machines that didn’t work. the toilet was wonky and the hotel charged to much for basic things.. like coffee.

absolutely beautifully designed. quality, well selected furnishing and tasteful decor not just in common areas but especially appreciated in our room. bed with super comfortable real down pillows and comforter. large quality towels. even lanai furniture had quality furniture with thick cushions and lovely fabric. enjoyed it every time we were coming back to the room. all details like the beautiful glass clot wallpaper and gorgeous throw pillows make it for a very luxurious experience. loved every moment.

Desserts were good, drinks okay, the place was valet only and I don't think they charged us for parking - if they did then that goes in the negative column. Bed was moderately comfy, bathroom was nice. Lanai and view were nice.
This is a $250 - $300 a night hotel that charged us $700. There are limited facilities, the rooms are basic, the pool is basic, service was not especially above & beyond though staff was friendly, etc. Additionally, they try to avoid cleaning your room daily, a move that the union of hospitality workers in Hawaii is trying to warn people about. Overall, this hotel does not live up to the cost whatsoever and I don't recommend it.

Good breakfast, that's all!
My birthday was ruined. To all my requests, I only heard - NO. Try to have reservations in restaurant table- they an answer - It’s too late , overbooked , but I saw empty tables, maybe because I was with child, interested; according to the rules, it’s impossible to borrow glasses for wine, and most importantly, there are no rooms with a sea view, there is only a front ocean and a part of the ocean. When you book a room with an ocean view, you get a PART of the ocean !!! My question - why people's have to overpay for part ocean. ALL, I repeat, ALL rooms with partial views! One more , very bad beach, we always went to the other beaches.
We are rested in different locations, and I can say that this hotel is not worth the money!!!

Very good breakfast: fresh, tasty, with one exception excellent service. Muffins were store bought 😟, but eggs and potatoes were terrific.
Daily resort fee which wasn’t explained when we checked in. No self-parking allowed which was silly. Not enough beach chairs around the pool which made for competition to claim chairs.

I thought it was mediocre. We had a breakfast package that was included however there were many additional charges for ordering outside the limited menu options. On the last day the waitress did not bring out our full order of chosen options.
The hotel was beyond overpriced for the experience and accommodations. The room was a standard 300 square
Foot sized room which was supposed to be an ocean view but was more like a pools view. Yes you could see a section of the ocean however it was not actually facing the ocean. For nearly $1000 a night you’d expect way more. The hotel was fairly old as well. It clearly had upgrades but for example the fairly small sized pool had cracks in it, just crusty appearance overall. The yoga class at 6:45 am was clearly for beginners and only 30 minutes long. You had to make reservations to use the gym which was a dedicated one hour limit for you and your partner. They had said valet was included in the price upon arrival but we were charged $25 plus tax per night in the end.

We loved everything about Koa Kea. The room is beautiful, comfortable, and romantic. The grounds are low key with a relaxing hot tub and perfect sized pool. The entire staff is genuinely kind, warm, and welcoming. Great location. We even took surf lessons on our last day and had a blast with the instructor, Alika! I miss it already.

Location, rooms and facilities were amazing. Everything is very clean. Hotel is not so big so it doesn’t get crowded in the common areas. Highly recommend it.
The beach in front of the hotel, just like a big portion of the island, is rocky, you better have a watershoe to get in the water and go snorkeling. Gym is pretty small, need schedule in advance.

The property was perfect in every way. It’s a small boutique hotel with a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was so nice and welcoming. The restaurant was amazing. The food was beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients and everything was so delicious! We enjoyed yoga every morning on the grass overlooking the ocean. The pool was great and it was fun hanging out at the outdoor bar. There are also nice restaurants, a small market, Starbucks and shops in the shopping center nearby which was within walking distance. And we loved having a Nespresso coffee machine in our room. A great way to start each day! Can’t wait to go back!
Absolutely nothing! Loved it all.
