Schönes Motel in ausgezeichneter Lage!

Das Zimmer war schön groß und gut ausgestattet. Das Personal war megafreundlich. Alles in allem ein echter Tipp!

Die Dusche bzw. der Wasserdruck hat echt noch Luft nach oben ;-)

The Shoal Hotel and staff are fabulous. Strongly recommend this hotel.

The location is excellent with a 5 minute walk to the beach and 20 minutes from San Diego. Fabulous spot for breakfast next door (Café Vahik) and very close to other restaurants, Mandarin House is great. Staff and room were excellent. So relaxing that we stayed an extra night .

Okay accommodation but cleanliness could have been improved.

The location was great near to the beach and liked the modern styling of the rooms

The cleanliness of the room could have been improved the floors were filthy I had to make sure my boys wore socks, if not there feet were black. Not what you expect when you were paying a significant amount of money per night.

Great location, Clean and comfortable. Great staff, walking distance to local market and restaurants.

The showers in both rooms had extremely poor water pressure. It was hard to get the soap off. One room had no shower Gell. Traffic noise isn't horrible, but noticeable.

Best deal in the area. The Holiday Inn across the street was more than double for same room.

The newly remodeled room looked beautiful. Bathroom was awesome. It was very close to beach and restaurants which were quite good. Exceptional breakfast coffee shop right next door.

We were supposed to check in one hour early at 2pm, but couldn’t get room till after 4pm. Then they didn’t allow us our late checkout because someone was “coming right in” at 11:30am. We left stuff at desk and when we came back at 2:30pm our room was just being cleaned. Nobody waiting “to get in”. I even offered to pay extra for more time. They basically lied.

The Shoal was comfortable, clean and safe.

The Shoal was close to the beach and close to several restaurants that were very good. We explored the San Diego area by car during the day, but we walked to the awesome beach early mornings to watch the surfing and late evenings to watch the sunset every day while we were there. Our room at the Shoal was large, comfortable, clean and safe.

The parking lot filled up late in the evening so if we were late coming in parking could be difficult. Getting to the 2nd floor by stairs was difficult with luggage.

Never will go not a family friendly place and not a clean place

Staff is so rude. They love to bug about the smallest thing and when you ask for help they circle around and around trying to avoid you or helping you out.

I was harassed every night for no reason

the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. the bed is very comfortable and the rooms are really nice. the location is prime being a 3 minute walk from the beach. they have a big jacuzzi and a pool. overall it was a really great time!

Staff were absolutely fantastic - so kind and helpful, I'd go so far to say the most helpful and polite of our 2 month travels of the USA :D Room was beautiful and bed was mega comfy

Water pressure - the shower was just a drip Pool and jacuzzi could be modernised I think

I hate paying for parking when I pay for a hotel. I guess because land is expensive they have to charge for parking.

Very good

The feel is more like a Motel rather than a Hotel. Also, parking is an additional fee and it is not guaranteed. Parking is also super tight, I wouldn’t advise large vehicles.

Convenient, comfortable and good location

Property was very clean, good location, walking distance to decent food and the beach. Heated pool was very nice. Definitely would go back and stay when visiting the La Jolla area.

only down fall during our visit was the construction going on with the water main improvements. With construction equipment in the street made it very hard to enter and exit the property.
