The location, generous sized rooms.
We booked a city view but looked out on a Aircon unit, asked to change rooms but the girl on reception didn’t want to help and had such an attitude. we did eventually get another room that was not much better. Booking.com needs to check what is available before you charge extra

The front desk staff was wonderful, great energy, very friendly, always greeted us. Same with the valet drivers!
I want to be clear that the staff is great! But our room was not so great. Upon entering there were rotten leftovers in the fridge, crumbs in the bed, and toothpaste on the mirror. During our stay, the bathroom lights flickered on and off, the mirror in the bathroom almost fell off the wall, and we had no toilet paper. We told these things to the front desk and they gave us toilet paper and told us they’d send someone to help with the lights & mirror and the only reason we could tell someone had been in the room is because the cleaning staff left their cleaner and rag. Unrelated to the room, the lobby and elevators smelled like sewage. It was so bad that you had to hold your nose when walking through it. There were a few other small things as well, but I think I set the tone with the above statement. my partner and I both have worked in hotels and we aren’t big complainers, we know that everyone is short staffed but it was really frustrating for a stay that cost $500 for three nights.

The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do. We were able to walk which was a plus.

The staff were very friendly from getting checked in to the bar/dining area. The room was clean and they had pool that my partner and I could play. As well, free cookies and milk at night.
We stayed in 1712 and our view was of air conditioners. It didn’t really bother us and everything else made the experience better.

The staff went above and beyond to greet us open doors and even pet our pups! Great stay, amazing staff!

My wife and I were traveling from Virginia to Colorado and needed a place to stay in St. Louis. The hotel is located in the center of the city, within walking distance from the arch. The staff is nice and helpful, we really enjoyed the complimentary milk and cookies (cookies are awesome!). The room was spacious and clean.
Parking is a disaster. The cheapest option we could find is a street parking garage for $30 per night. Given how expensive Magnolia is, the parking could be free or for a reduced price.

I loved the location, my room was great.
No vending, the elevators are small but worked very well.

The staff was wonderful. Valet friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable.
No complaints.

We loved our stay here! This hotel is gorgeous. I absolutely loved all the details, stained glass, and chandeliers in the lobby and dining area! Our room was a really good size and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower's water pressure was also great. This hotel is located a little further from the arch than some others but is still in a great location.
Our Deluxe City View Room had two windows - one which peeked out into a square on the back of the hotel and another that looked out on to a fire escape and the building next door. Definitely not what I would consider an amazing view, but at least we could sort of see the city. I wish the room had better lighting over the large full-length mirror, and although I appreciated the seating area the coffee table was giant and oddly shaped (circular) which meant I banged into it when I got up in the middle of the night. Also, the only parking available is valet and it is very expensive.

Location
Only valet parking option $48 a night. Room literature stated only ice and vending on 8th floor. No vending only ice and a beat up microwave. When asking at front desk about vending they said laminated info cards in room are wrong, and I was welcome to go to hotel next door to buy from their snack bar. Paid extra for “city view” room which faced back of other hotel emergent exits across alley (no view). Spend a little more to stay somewhere else. No amenities other than bar. Not impressed and really disappointed Marriott would call this a “tribute” hotel. Will not stay again.

The hotel is pretty and quiet. I loved it. The location was great and it was close to some great food and sights. The valet guys were awesome! I felt pretty safe here.

Breakfast and staff were very pleasant and efficient
Shower not great. Bar soap should be replaced with soap in liquid dispenser.

Friendly Greeter gave us 2 free drink vouchers for our anniversary :) she was extremely exceptional. attached restaurant-~sauce on the side was yummy.
only one elevator in working order at this property, could fit only 4 people, long wait lines to get up or down. stairs looked as if homeless were living in them at one point near street access, trash and cans in the landing of the stairwell

The bar is nice, as well as the well the historic touch is has. It is very well located.
I paid extra for a room with a "city view" and extra space. But one of my windows view was to another building and the other faced to a street corner. The room was not bigger than ay motel room.

The location was excellent! I can't answer about the breakfast I ate elsewhere.
3.5
Valet was very convenient, Free bottled water at the front desk, Staff were very friendly, Bed was comfortable, Room was clean, The food from their menu was good and the Bartender's made great cocktail's.
Uninformed of major interior construction prior to check-in, Construction began early morning and lasted past 5-6 in evening both Friday and Saturday, Construction could be heard clearly in our room on the 3rd floor, Door to our room stuck and was difficult to open, TV remote didn't work, Restaurant Breakfast Buffet had minimal options and pastries were hard as a rock, potatoes tasted day's old, sausage tasted boiled in grease.

The furniture had seen better days. My carpet and sofa, both had large stains. Had an arm full of bags. My door would not open. Had to ask my neighbor to call the front desk for me.

Good clean room. Safe place.
The place has a little more character than your typical Marriott, but still updated and clean.
