Great hotel with historical charm and great staff.

We liked the size of the room, the cleanliness, how well it was stocked. We liked the warm decor and character of the hotel itself in Rome.

The River view could have been better due to overgrown trees obstructing the view.

Expectations were higher than what we received. Disappointed for our hometown choice.

Location was convenient for my purposes.

1. The room. 306 built on a slant. The room has uneven floors. Even the bathroom floor was slanted. 2. No ironing board. However front desk provided it. 3. Reported the phones were not working. We were told maintenance would be contacted. No maintenance personnel EVER contacted us during our entire weekend stay. 4. Advertise (photos) beautiful greenery all around the corridors. Nothing but dead brown plants on all three levels 5. The on-site restaurant was the worst. I was told I would have to wait 50 -60 mins to be seated in a restaurant that had very few patrons. Worst part I had to wait 2 to 4 mins for the restaurant hostess to finish her conversation with fellow co-workers before I was acknowledged and informed of the wait time. No explanation was given for the long wait time. But I can say I counted maybe SIX people visible in the restaurant. Needless to say no additional monies were spent at the hotel. Any and all food were purchased elsewhere. I’m big on supporting/spending where I stay but not this time. During this stay others local establishments benefited the most.

Too much money to pay for noise level and no channels on tv

Breakfast was good

The noise from other people staying was horrible all through the night. Whoever was in adjoining room kept tv on very loud most of night and we could hear it. We heard floor creaking every time someone got off elevator. Beautiful place but too much money to pay for noise.

Overall it was a great stay. The beds are comfortable. The River side was a great view.

The building was nice and it was a great location access to everything and within walking distance.

The hallways were extremely hot.

love the location-park the car and able to walk to everything -bar on site was great-gym was awesome

the breakfast could be amped up a bit. it is not included which is fine and i dont mind paying for it but it was like a free breakfast at most hotels.

Great location, yummy breakfast, comfy beds and would stay here again!

Location, location, location!! Also loved the historical building and architecture. The river is beautiful and everything is within walking distance on Broad Street. The bar was great with a good selection of spirits, cocktails and beer. The breakfast was an amazing value with a tasty selection of eggs, biscuits, gravy, grits, cereals, fruit, yogurt, and waffles all for only $8 per person!!! The beds are super comfy too.

I liked being on the 3rd floor however the atrium was rather toasty in the late afternoon and the air conditioning in the room seemed to struggle bc we got a little stuffy at night. But understandable bc it is a very old building. We brought our tiny dog with us since the hotel is pet friendly but be aware that there is a $100 non-refundable pet fee! This is not advertised on the booking website, only that there will be a pet fee. I received the notice about the fee after I confirmed our booking. I have never experienced such a large non-refundable pet fee with other bookings and felt that was a bit expensive for one night!

The hotel property and common areas were very lovely and interesting and took advantage of all the charms of the old building with the brick, original wood floors, high ceilings, and riverside location.

Our room was not a suite but just a regular hotel room. Although it did have a microwave and fridge there was almost no counter space and there was one plate and silverware located too high out of reach above the microwave. Did not match the photos and not what we were expecting.

Funky re-build of the old Battey Machinery company is cool. I like the vibe. Staff was friendly. My only complaint would be how loud the traffic noise was in room 273. But, I accept that converting an old brick factory building is problematic. I would stay there again, though!

Wasn’t informed that there was some type of dog festival in town so there were a large amount of dogs on the property.

This hotel was not your typical establishment.

The breakfast was excellent, well worth the extra cost. Enjoyed the bar area where we could sit in the adjacent area with our dogs in a stroller. The drinks were great, the bartender and servers were exceptional, and the food was outstanding! We loved the ambience of this downtown hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Joy, the receptionist, was welcoming, professional, and helpful.

The pet fee was too much, $100, for any pet.
