The staff are absolutely incredible! It was incredibly clean. The decor is beautiful.. right on the main street and easy to find
All the people at the bar standing outside until 2 AM very loud and directly below my window. I didn’t get all the sleep I needed. If I ever go again, I will ask for a room on the other side of the building.

Victor is a tiny town but nice for a stop
Our stay was TERRIBLE. And that is not hyperbole:
We booked for 5 nights (>$200 a night) and left after one night. We got no refund whatsoever - and yet we were happier to leave than staying in the hotel any longer.
The hotel room was more DUSTY than what we would normally accept for a room in this price class, but be we made no fuzz about that given the old style of the place.
But when we arrived we found several hairs on the bed and we also noted that some of the SHEETS HAD STAINS, so we looked for an employee to get that fixed. But NO-ONE was on site. The manager did not respond to texts either. The lady working the bar fortunately called around to get someone to swap the sheets (though quite a bit later).
The restaurant was already closed at 8pm and we were therefore not able to eat any proper food in the hotel either (or the town for that matter).
There was a town festivity (Gold Rush Days) when we were there and a band was playing during the night on the fairground just outside our room. We were not aware of the festivity and the hotel did not think it was important information for our stay (especially as our room was facing the fairground and THERE IS LITTLE IF ANY SOUND ISOLATION) - it made it very difficult for us and our children to get any rest during the night - and we could not sleep in the next day either due to the lack of proper drapes. Indeed, there is NOTHING TO KEEP THE SUNLIGHT OUT of the room. The blinds are just blocking the view but not the light. We asked the people changing the sheets if something could be done to keep the sunlight out, but were told that is not possible - so as soon as the sun was up, so were we.
The next morning we wanted to shower and bathe the children but the water came out cold. Again nobody on site! Probably an hour later we got a text that it was fixed. But it still came out cold. At that point we had enough and explained that we would leave.

Old historic building with bird cage elevator
Strange layout of a tiny room, toilet door handle that hard to open, previous guests hair on bed sheets, sink in a room, broken clothes hanger….

We loved that the hotel was built in 1899 and included the original brick on the wall of our room as well as the original elevator. The check in and check out procedure was all over texts which made it smooth and easy.

It was a unique stay! The room was great, we were kept up by their friendly permanent tenants. We stayed on the second floor so nothing too crazy.

This is a hidden gem in an old mining town. Great history the hotel is designated a National Historic Hotel. The whole hotel is decorated in period furnishings, included an antique elevator. Also the history of the hotel includes ghost sightings and interesting stories of the huge gold boom in the late 1800’s. This isn’t a glitz, touristy, 5 star hotel, here you will find friendly people, comfortable accommodations and amazing history.
Loved it all. No complaints .

Loved the atmosphere and old fashioned feeling that the hotel had. The checking in and out process was really quick and efficient. The interior and exterior of the hotel are absolutely beautiful and give off that awesome haunted vibe.
I wish they served breakfast, but we found a little cafe just down the street
