Mark at the front desk is very helpful! Eric housekeeping brought me fabulous towels! Olivia get me toilet paper and extra soap. I appreciate the kindness.

Not much unfortunately.
Rm 125 Toilet didn’t flush. Shower head dribbled. Faucet was loose. Sink drain was clogged. Window blind broken. Carpet dirty. Mattress and pillows cheap and lumpy. Decor was yard sale grade. We slept poorly and couldn’t shower. Have only one other room available and smelled like an ash tray. Rm 112. Wouldn’t offer a discount or refund. Run away.

Friendly staff, easy parking and walkable location, and a nice seating area.
This is more of an elevated/revamped motel, but otherwise everything was great.

I loved how they updated, blending the old with the new.... Funky! The bed was comfortable. Everything was working except for the cold water. The outdoor space was amazing and when we went outside, the manager, Mark, came out to introduce himself and light the outdoor fire pit. I was there to have surgery in the morning and was in a wheelchair. The room was accommodating.
There wasn't any cold water anywhere to be found. Even when you flushed it felt like a steam bath. That was rather nice.

Great area and ample parking. Very welcoming staff.
The room would have been better if there was a bedside table on each side of the bed. A mini fridge in the room would have been helpful. I didn't have a place to store my leftover dinner. So it went to waste.

Everything was very clean and quiet! The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom felt like a spa with the special shower head and the super plush linens, fancy vegan soaps, and just overall atmosphere! This place reminded me of a hostel I use in Chicago, This is a wonderful hole-in-the-wall place to stay, and definitely recommend everyone stay here at least once!
It is kind of in a weird spot off the road, wish it had more scenery around it directly, but the overall location is a quick and easy entrance and exit from really everything, and close to Detroit for the sights!

the heating unit was a little loud, but not terrible

Very close to down town. Heat and air worked fine. Staff was helpful and friendly
Very dirty and felt like nothing had been cleaned in months. Floors, bed sheets the counters on everything were just dirty.

It's a really neat concept - transform an old motel into something hip and fun. The center of the parking lot has a nice little recreation area with hammocks, outdoor games, etc., so you and your friends and neighbors can hang out. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Location is great, the downtown is a only a short walk away. Free WiFi and cable TV both worked fine. Bed was comfortable with multiple pillows (a big plus in my book). Price is competitive with the alternatives close by. All in all, it is a good option for staying near downtown Royal Oak with few bells and whistles.
Well, despite the name and colorful decor it is ultimately an old motel. Heating/cooling unit was a little weathered-looking and loud with the change filter indicator light lit up. Bathroom floor was cold. The free breakfast is just a egg and cheese sandwich on toast at a nearby diner. Even though I had a restful sleep and my neighbors were respectful, I could hear activities/conversations nearby, so it's not the most soundproof of rooms.

This hotel is a reworked 1960’s motor lodge. Having grown up in this area I know it was low end hotel noted for drug dealing and prostitution. It has been cleaned up but I see no value to this place.
4.1
Location, and mattress was comfortable. All staff we talked to were wonderful. Outdoor fire pit was great
It was a small, old room with some updated features, holes in wall in bathroom, broken tile, no fridge or microwave in a $250 room; perceived value was low.

Walking distance to the Royal Oak Music Theatre!

Great location, staff were overall friendly. Sizeable enough room.
First issue - toilet didn't work properly. Wouldn't flush. Had to get placed into another room. Then at first the digital key worked to get inside the room, second time around it didn't at all. So had to go get a physical key. Well what about the room? Very dusty in several areas, the AC was on its last legs barely hanging together with tape. Didn't sleep well at all. My shower wouldn't go hot for a solid 20 minutes despite turning the knob to the very max.

family feel , good quality products , aesthetically pleasing & clean.
I would prefer no carpet in bedrooms
& glass shower doors over bath tub
