Our hostess was absolutely AMAZING! She told us about great food places in the area as well as other attractions. We had forgotten something at home and she was able to provide us with what we were looking for as we couldn't find it in the stores near by. Her dog was absolutely friendly and loving. We had purchased something for her as a gift and she made us a farewell treat for our drive back home... which was absolutely divine! I recommend this lodge if you're looking for a homie and very pleasant experience.
I don't really think there was anything we didn't like. It was amazing overall.

nice quiet place to stay. there aren’t any facilities on the property except an ice machine. didn’t stay here for entertainment. very clean.
no air conditioning, which is ok most of the time, because it very shady. we happened to be staying there during one of the hottest days of the year, which made it uncomfortable if you happen to be in your room during the day. At night you could adjust to the air temperatures with fans and open door.

It was a great place to stay, but also next to a UNESCO site.

Ginny was the hostess with the mostest! Our original booking was right at the end of their season, and our arrival was delayed by a few days - yet she accommodated the change. Since we were there during the off-season many places had already closed for the year and a she was extremely helpful in helping us find our way around that.

The location is so convenient to Coastal Maine Botanical Garden and other attractions, yet the setting is so tranquil. Our room was very large and comfortable, clean as a whistle, with a big deck. Jenny is incredibly gracious and helpful—our stay was a delight!

Howard House is great and the folks who run it are lively and very helpful. My only would be that instead of a giant door to the balcony we had a door and a window so i could get some air and light in but not quite so much as the door allows or the full shades prevent.

Beautiful area around the building. Location near Boothbay Harbor without the noise and lots of people.
Very friendly staff.
Could have used refrigerator for drinks, etc.
When we checked out and paid by credit card, there was a surcharge that would not have been added if we paid by cash or check! Since we were not aware of the surcharge previously, we had already paid with a credit card. Since most people use credit cards, we think this information needs to be publicized ahead of time!

Gorgeous Lodge with comfortable bed and lovely balcony to enjoy the morning tea and the evening breeze. Great location with close proximity to Boothbay Habour and the beautiful coastline and nature in the area. Amazing host who offered great recommendations on what to experience and where to eat.
Unfortunately no breakfast due to the Pandemic. Since the property is on the main road there’s some traffic noise during daytime.
