Great location , main hotel was beautiful and ornate , the breakfast was exceptional.
The rear outside patio was unusable do to rundown patio furniture but there were other areas outside that were well maintained . The property. doesn’t offer the opportunity to see which room you will staying in and the price point is very high to not have that option .

Great location (and would have been perfect without traffic) and good choices/quality at breakfast.
All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Comfortable pillows! - but that's a problem in almost all hotels.
And a bath would have been nice - but accept the limitations of adapting a historic building.

The owners and staff welcomed us like family!
They are awesome and positively impacted our stay at their amazing property.
Breakfast was a culinary treat and the combination of the food, amazing service and eating out on the porch overlooking the water was the perfect way to start our days in Beaufort.
My wife and I will take a hard pass on this question as there wasn’t anything we didn’t like about this wonderful property. Well perhaps if we could have stayed there a couple of more days! 😏

The History of the property.
We loved everything about the property.

The hotel is beautiful and the location can't be beat. My favorite mornings were spent on the porch having coffee + inn-provided breakfast, overlooking the water & marina. I stayed in room 202 (with the soaking tub) and it was lovely. The entire hotel is a period piece, and the art and decor make you feel like you're stepping back in time with all the modern amenities. I found the staff to be very helpful with coordinating any needs (eg. massage, dinner, recos); and during my solo stay, I felt very safe both in the hotel and in the town.
The only small issue I had was under the bed cleanliness. I was setting up a yoga mat and peeked under the bed, and saw a napkin. This wasn't a major deal breaker for me, but for a high-end stay I would expect pristine cleanliness.

Breakfast was delicious, selection was a little slim. Food was hot, service was excellant.
When I booked, my expectation was that I would be staying in the main house. My only reason for choosing this location was that expectation. No where in my booking did it say I had an off-site location. I was put in the lower cottage, which I later found out was for guest with pets. At one point I did mention this and the young lady told me Bookings.com always gives you the cheapest room. 275.00 plus gratuity is not a cheap room. Plus this was not the room advertised next to where I booked. This room was also located next to where they leave their trash bins, so throughout the day, we could hear this activity. The outdoor furniture in front of my cottage was not maintained and dirty, as was the adjacent patio. However, the furniture on the balconies was immaculate. I don't like to complain, but I felt like I was in the servants room. I did not feel like I got the five star experience I expected. I have had better at Hampton Inn's. We wound up leaving early because our last day just wasn't comfortable. Still..a beautiful home..I just wish I had gotten what I thought I paid for. It was our 27th Anniversary...I wanted to do more.

The location was great park the car on arrival and pick it on departure . Everything was walking distance .

The property is family owned and well maintained by Amy and Frank. The location is very convenient. Breakfast was complementary along with a welcome prosecco and later cookies and fresh water dropped in the room. The cabin was clean and spacious. The parking pass was convenient. I mostly enjoyed the terrasses which were great for breakfast or just relaxing.
I liked everything but I would switch the duvet cover for a lighter sheet for this time of the year.

Excellent location and food was fantastic. We had dinner their the first night. Breakfast on the veranda was great!
Outside sitting area was set up nice but most of the seats were dirty.

The inn is nice, but could use some sprucing up. The breakfast was fine, but not exceptional. The server was very nice. The free bicycles they provided for guests to use was a nice touch. The location was great - very walkable to downtown and the historic district.
For the price they charge, I expected the inn to be in better condition. The building could use some sprucing up - the interior paint was scuffed and chipping, the ceiling was peeling in places, the baseboards in our bathroom were damaged and needed a new coat of paint, etc.

Excellent staff, owners, location superb. First class all around.

The breakfast was incredible. The host warm & welcoming. The location was perfect. The cost (room cost much more than we were told) was higher than expected. Our room was outside in an outbuilding & we had to go outside & up stairs to enjoy meals. But room service was excellent & overall the inn was a wonderful experience & we would go back!
Our outdoor building separate from inn. Room was nice but next to garbage bins & street & was noisy.

so close to main area of Beaufort. view of water great
it needs maintenance and cleaning. I realize that there is a huge shortage of workmen, but it was really sub par.

Everything was great, and the staff and food were fantastic. The room (upper cottage) was extremely comfortable and included a wonderful daily breakfast, and we also had dinner one night which was fabulous. We really enjoyed sitting on the upper decks with a glass of wine and just enjoying the view and the breezes. Our entire stay was amazing. We really enjoyed the special touches such as infused water and cookies delivered to our room every evening. I only wish we could get some of the recipes, especially the grits 😊
