Izaak Walton Inn has had a complete makeover which was badly needed. Rooms are comfy and clean. The bar is up and running downstairs & it is a fun place with good energy from staff.
To have a true Montana vibe I would like to see softer western music in the dining area, not loud excitable music.

The host were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfy. The place was nostalgic. The restaurant was great and very tasty. We enjoyed the extra things like the shoe drying rack and the Yeti cooler. Great place for Skiers.
It is very quaint.
There is no AC so we had the window open and the temperature was comfortable but this place was originally a soup kitchen for railway workers and the railway is very close to the hotel and it runs all night. About every hour and the whistle is loud. Kept me away most of the first night. Second night I was so tired I did not notice it.

Trail grooming was excellent.

the building
they didn’t have the products (soap, shampoo and hand soap)

This location is rustic and charming, the pavilion for events and hot tub were very nice.
It was obvious they were wrapping up the season, many things were in disrepair, staff doing the bare minimum, many of the amenities that were listed were not available, there was no hand soap or proper shampoo and conditioner provided in our room, there was little to no guest info or maps of the property, no guest info provided in the room and no phone in the room so we had to constantly stand in line to ask questions at the desk, it was very difficult to regulate the temperature of the room the centralized heat was on and without the windows open and the fan on during the day it would cook you out of the room however halfway through the night it hit freezing and we were up and down adjusting the fan and windows to try and find a comfortable room temperature.

location, location, historic past
being a historic building kept with its original flavor means smaller rooms and fewer amenities than 5 star hotels.

It was good but a bit pricey.

track side, a lot of railroad items. Near Glacier
Most of the staff was awesome, 1 was clueless, the
other in the dining staff was beyond rude. The only
supplied soap was attached the the shower wall, how
stupid is that!!!

Dinner was great
We didn’t like being on third floor. But that was alright

The setting is beautiful. We enjoyed being able to sit outside and watch the trains (more outside seating is needed). The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Although we expected the rustic accommodations, we were very uncomfortable in room 19 directly above the kitchen. The exhaust fan below our window (beside the bed) blowing the constant smell of cooking, along with the heat from the kitchen, created an extremely uncomfortable sleeping environment. It was already very hot, and the room has no air, so windows must be open.
Although the room is small, removing the old, oversized chair and ottoman and putting in a small table with a chair would help guest with a place to put their belongings, sit down, or simply create more room to move around.

There was sufficient parking and wifi was good (in rooms near the lobby - note there is no wifi in further away rooms).
The hotel overcharged us before we arrived. We messaged the hotel about the overcharge but they didn't ever respond, despite chasing. When we arrived we asked for a refund of the overpayment and the staff were very grumpy and unhelpful, although they did eventually process the refund.
The wifi didn't reach to our first room so we moved (it worked in the second room). Rooms were very small and dated with no amenities (no TV, no hairdryer, no fridge or microwave). The hotel was very noisy despite there being very few guests. We could hear everything going on in the corridor and in the rooms next door. The room hadn't been cleaned very well as we found candy wrappers between the bed and the nightstand.
One night there was an altercation between a guest and a member of staff - there was shouting and screaming for about an hour and one of the men had a handgun. We felt quite unsafe and didn't feel we could leave our room.
There is an onsite restaurant which we felt was expensive so we didn't use it.
We would not return.

Reliable wifi. Food was good but with big city prices...$50 pp for dinner.
Booking.com and the property did not have consistent pricing. Reserved over 9 months ago and was shown one total price on the website but the property charged a different prepayment. And then a few weeks prior to travel they charged an additional $2 or so on the card. Front desk vaguely said it's probably because of "taxes and fees and resort fees". Shady stuff.
Ventilation was also poor as all the kitchen smoke and smell was strong on the 2nd floor. Luckily it eventually went away.

Food was good skiing was nice staff very helpful enjoyed hot tub
Not all ski a tv would have been nice in room fora basic room the price was ridiculous high nice room but only worth about half of what you charge for what you get I understand it a whistle stop but it out prices the average montana resident I would stay longer and more frequently if there were ski packages or reasonable room rates 5

It is a family friendly venue which caters to folks who love the outdoors. The cross-country skiing is wonderful, but there is a super sledding hill for you kids, a game room, a hot tub. The sleeping cabooses are magical for kids as well.
Can't think of anythin

Location, amenities, ambience, character of the old building.
Room was nice, but very small, a bit noisy with adjoining rooms. Bathroom really needs a fan, and a plunger on hand would be nice.

Proximity to both GNP Entrances was very good, approx midway between them. Meal menu items were pricy, when compared to area restraurant establishments. A cheeseburger for ~$15, compared to Packers Roost in Coram, MT ~$10, which was really a jigantic two patties, weighing ~1/2 ound, which I split and ate the next day, along w/
Just the meal menu items being a tad expensive!

Great little inn . A beautiful location! Slept with windows up. Great place to unplug!
The restaurant on site smelled delicious! But the prices were a little too much for me.
I wish it had a tv. WiFi was so so.

Very quaint and historic inn right on the rail road. Excellent restaurant and cozy bar. Great for outdoor activities.
No elevator so would not be a good choice for those with mobility issues.

Decor from the train travel era made it a fun place to stay. Overall, it is quite low-key. The food at dinner was exceptional. The area is interesting, and we went on some hikes in a less-traveled part of Glacier National Park.
Nothing really.

It’s like a museum with all of its artifacts
No A/C in the main lodge hotel rooms nor WiFi (only available in the lobby).
