My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marreros. The property is a converted mansion 1/2 block away from Duval Street and about 5 blocks away from Mallory Square. We stayed in Room 5, which was on the second floor towards the building's front. We shared the front balcony with 1 other room - Room 6, if I recall. The balcony is divided with a waist level partition. My wife loved sitting out there to enjoy the fresh air and watch the neighborhood roosters.
The room was divided in two, with the comfortable queen bed in the main part and a small sitting area with a comfy chair, mini fridge and a desk with a wooden chair in the second area. The bathroom was small but serviceable, with the only oddity being that the toilet was at a lower height than normal.
Various people told us the area would be noisy due to people walking around and various restaurant bands. But the place was very quiet, perhaps because we went on a weekday (Sunday night and Monday night). The only noise issue apart from the roosters was trash pickup and leaf blowers on Monday morning.
The roosters.... Key West has free roaming roosters everywhere, and they crow at just about anytime. For us, the roosters in the neighborhood crowed from early morning to mid afternoon. They don't crow constantly, but intermittently throughout the day. Marrero's offers earplugs -- I had to use them both nights but my wife slept through without them.
I liked that Marrero's offer free coffee 24/7 (from a Keurig machine) and have several self-serve coolers with drinks via an honor bar system. They also offer happy hour from 3:30PM (?) to 5:00PM, with free beer and house wine and discounted drinks. The breakfast is continental style with bagels, toast, bakeries, cereal, hard boiled eggs, and a few other things. I only wished they had more fruit.
Room size. This is not a real compaint, because the room matches the listing and photos. It was more to do with my wife and I - we thought it would be ok but now we realize that we'd need a larger room and/or a king sized bed.
Parking - there is no free parking - the street outside is city parking at $5 per hour, and there are payed lots nearby. We were able to snag an actual free street parking spot a block away on Whitehead Street - in front of the courthouse. But there are only about 5 free spots there. Along Whitehead street are more free spots, but only a handful per block. BE VERY CAREFUL TO NOTE THE "RESIDENT PERMIT" markers on the street parking spots - do not park on these.

My room #2 was unbelievably spacious and came with levoit air purifier and good size fridge. The location can't be beat, so close to Duval and CVS around the corner 👍

We had time to spare in Florida before leaving for NYC, we decided to spend 2 nights in Key West and this place was great. Very charming and well decorated.
Our room was way to humid, you could feel the moist instantly. There were an air purifier as well as a dehumidifier but they were too small for the room. It was livable but definitely something I believe easy to work on!

Exception location and amazing hospitality

This was a super cute property with unique rooms and decor. The pool access was very valuable! And the staff was super friendly and accommodating!
The rooms are very small and made it a little bit difficult to navigate - however, to be expected with an old property.

This place was charming, we loved the environment, super clean, and the location was perfect.

Location - in the middle of everything yet very quiet. Super accommodating and helpful staff.
Quaint Key West style building with cozy pool area and porches to sit and relax.
Chairs in the room and in hall are not very comfy. Bathroom in our room (#3) could need updating
but everything was in working order.

The History! But also very impressed with the decor. greG
Great location and the staff was very friendly.
We made friends with other couples staying on the
grounds and enjoyed mingling in the pool.

The staff was very welcoming and probably the best part. Jayme helped check me in and was great to talk to but what really got me was when she took the time to mail something we forgot at the hotel (we had already gotten back to Miami by the time we realized we forgot something). I just called and gave her the address and it was mailed out the next day.
We were in the Amistad room and it was super cute and super clean. The hotel was in a great location and easy to get to where we needed, walked everywhere for the most part. The pool is 24 hours which is great even though my gf and I didn't really get a chance to use it. Free water and soda is something that I don't really think about but turned out to be a great perk because most places charge for extra beverages (my gf loves sprite and with the summer heat the water was welcomed).
We did get these tiny ants (smaller than a regular black ant) in the bathroom and by the dresser but it did bother us too much, Florida always has some bug stuff going on anywhere. I think we left some food out on the dresser, they went away eventually. Also, no microwave which was a little bit of a bummer when we had leftovers but not a terrible inconvenience or anything.

Breakfast was beautiful every morning, it was really nice to wake up every morning and have a cuppa coffee and the breakfast that was spread out amazing
There wasn’t anything that disappointed me

The property was absolutely beautiful! We were obsessed with the decor, the staff, and the location!!! Loved the concept of the honor bar and the pool area was super cute! We would 110% stay again! Jayme was absolutely amazing to work with. We even tried to stay another night, but not to our surprise, they were fully booked.

Beautiful and historic building in a prime location. It's not a chain hotel or a generic rental house. From the awesome decor to the "honor system" for grab and go drinks, you immediately sense that you're staying somewhere special. The cool environment becomes part of your overall vacation experience. Marreros is easy walking distance (like, around the corner) from the best bars and restaurants in Key West. Great pool, too — large, perfect temp, never crowded (often had it to myself).

The location and staff are excellent! The new owners did a great job of remodeling too. We've stayed here several times over the years and will definitely return.
It's a old home so some of the rooms and bathrooms are small in some of the rooms. They do have large rooms you can book.

The location is great, walking/biking distance to all the things we wanted to do. The staff (Jayme and Laura) were wonderful. They provided suggestions on things and events happening around town and made sure we felt at home.

The staff was very nice and helpful.. The location was great, we will be back
Nothing specific but the bed seemed softer than we like.. but everyone likes something different and we were very comfortable.
4.6
The staff was very friendly and the rooms very exceptionally clean!!
Not very private, the walls are very thin so we could hear the people coming and going and talking in the room next to us. White noise machines would be nice to drown out the roosters that started at 3am each morning.

The room style is so unique and vintage. They have a freestyle bar for soda, water and coffee, very considerate.

June 2022. I absolutely love Marreros Guest Mansion! I have stayed in Key West many times but this was my first time with them and I was blown away. First off, the room was exceptionally clean and cool. We had access to a shared balcony, but never ran into anyone during our stay. The entire place was decorated so beautifully, I even bought a painting similar to the one that hung in our room. The staff were extremely personable and charming. The breakfast was delicious baked good from a local bakery. Pool was very nice and shaded. NO KIDS! and finally, the location was the best I’ve had. perfect spot to sleep soundly and yet one block from all the goings-on on duval.

Super cute decor. I love a well decorated place. Loved the Bluetooth in the rooms and free water and soda. I didn't spend a lot of time hanging out at the hotel. Mainly just to sleep, but beds were very comfortable and had everything I needed. Makeup wipes were a nice extra.
