There was no security feature on the door to prevent someone from opening it, just the one lock. There were holes where the safety feature had been.

Excellent stay

As stated by everyone else, the owners are great and the rooms are clean. They obviously take great care of the hotel, which is old, but they keep it up well. Will stay here again.

Exceptional

Manager super friendly and helpful. He was able to accommodate changes in my reservation due to uncertainties on my itinerary. He also helped understand the bus lines in Blacksburg and even gave me a ride on my first appointment. Super recommend.

Great location, clean rooms and a friendly staff

The location to VA Tech and downtown Blacksburg was awesome. Although there are not many “frills “, the hotel was very clean, had updated interiors and a nice size television with cable.

I have no complaints about the property. it was a great value for the price and the staff was very concerned about earning my business.

Nice hotel, nice couple that runs it. No pets allowed but that was clear on the website.

Left before breakfast was available. Room was very clean and well done. There was still evidence of being worked on but those were minor. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Loved the shampoo/conditioner and would like to know if it is availbale to purchase.

There was one small lock on the door as the other lock (flip over type) had been removed with the jam part still present. Also I had brought my cell phone car charger but not my wall plug in charger and there was no USB port to plug it into. Had to put it back in the car to charge. My mistake but would have been nice.

Value and location wise a Diamond in the rough.

Room had no odor upon arrival and gave a great first impression.

TV had very poor quality picture. Really my only complaint.

Basic but clean and perfect for a short stay!

The room has that old musty building smell to it when you first walk in. It’s not horrible but not pleasant either. However, the staff keep the room very clean and comfortable. Mattress seems to be new or newish. Bathroom is spotless. It’s perfectly fine for my overnight stay. Definitely not a fancy place but for the price and the location, this motel is a great deal!

Very clean, very well maintained room. Courteous and friendly staff, perfect location. It's an older motel but the owners have gone out of their way to keep the rooms cozy and up to date. I had a great stay and will plan to do so again.

Pleasant and comfortable.

The room was basic but very clean and serviceable. The Staff was extremely helpful and responsive to requests . The location was very good . I wish to commend especially the efforts of the staff to satisfy the needs of the guests.

The property could be improved and maintained better . The WiFi service was not adequate .

Good hotel for short stay!

My husband and I had stayed for one night on our way to do a hike to Cascade Falls trailhead. I could say this hotel is a real gem among others of this type. The hotel's building is old but well maintained. Our room was clean with a huge bed, no unpleasant smells, just clean and nice. Everything works well. Location is wonderful. We had a small talk with a host who had given us some hiking advice. It was very nice. Despite it being a rainy morning we enjoyed our hike and were very happy to do that. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Could be much better if the room has a coffee maker.

I really enjoyed the accommodation. It is well located. Easy to have public transport to the University or other nearby places. The family that runs the hotel is friendly and kind. Always willing to help us. I recommend.

I had an unstable wifi connection in the room I was in. However, I was able to work the same way. The rest was excellent.

The perfect stay in Blacksburg!

My stay at Red Carpet Inn- Blacksburg was PERFECT!! The place was clean, tidy, cozy (yet with ample space in the room for me and my mom), and the location couldn’t have been more ideal! The manager was the most excellent person!! Always very kind and polite, and he went out of his way to help us whenever we had a question or matter. I’ll recommend this place every time, and it will definitely be a go-to for my family in the future.

I have stayed twice at Red Carpet Inn. Both times Harry and his wife have gone out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Harry makes sure he creates not only a comfortable, but a safe environment for his guests.

Great value for money place to stay in Blacksburg. Close to shopping center and has good bus connections to other parts of town. Very helpful staff.
