This is what most probably imagine when thinking of an inn in New England. Very friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast included with our stay. We will definitely return!
A comfier mattress would have been a plus but not a deal breaker at all.
4.3
The ambiance, the hosts and staff!
They are new owners and starting renovations so the Tavern was not open

Breakfast was awsome. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful breakfasts, beautiful place, really nice people
Took me three days before I ran into staff, but they had me all set up so I didn't really need them, not enough lights around the place when you arrive at night, also not enough signage, shower was not very big but hot tub was great

there was old food left in night stand drawers

The staff was very friendly and nice.
The place is beautiful!!!
It’s a beautiful place but far away from everything, so you can’t really be there without a car.
The water in the shower were brown every time I opened it. (it changed after a few seconds, but still…).
4.3
good location, breakfast and service
property needs sprucing up. carpet, bedding etc. owners need to reinvest in property

Our breakfast was good, free and we met other guests and shared locations to visist when we got back on the road for the day. We also enjoyed diner at the Inn the night before.
You need to remember that you’re staying in an inn that dates back to the 1800’s. So it is a dated as so. A grain of salt will go a long way.

Blueberry pancakes and omelet were excellent, and our special request was easily granted! The dinner the night before was expertly prepared. The staff helped in every way, and went above and beyond the call of duty.
Maybe a little updating in the room, like a fresh coat of ceiling paint.

Dinner was outstanding. Very nice breakfast .The staff are friendly yet professional.

the grounds were pretty. the rooster crowing added a touch
No heat. it was a very chilly am. the fireplace would stay lit had to shower in cold room, heater didn’t work. the details like coving were dirty. need a new caulking and paint.
breakfast was good but my eggs were cold and coffee lukewarm.
4.3
historic inn, excellent breakfast, good coffee, soft & absorbent bath towels, clean room, nice hot water with good shower pressure, good covid practices, garden setting with chickens, friendly & helpful staff, reasonably priced.
uncomfortable bed, musty smell, rooms need updating (tough in times of covid, especially with financial strains on hospitality industry)

A typical old New England inn. The location is great and close to Manchester. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast which was included was very good. Breakfast being included is a great feature. Owners were friendly and seem to go over and beyond on making sure everything was right.
Our suite being spacious and the bed a distant from the bathroom a night light would have been appreciated .

breakfast very good. Chickens & Dog were very entertaining. Location was great.
I didn't like the front door on spring back hinges. When I was taking in my cooler I scraped my arm bad but luckily I was able to eventually stop the bleeding with large bandages. It would be helpful if you leave a door stop in the hall to resolve this problem.

Great food and helpful, friendly staff.
Beautiful property.
Our room was nice but in the front of the Inn so there was a lot of road noise, all night. Also, the bed was “creeky”.

Great room and fantastic breakfast. The rooster and hens was a hit. The outside plantings were well taken care of.
All good and we have no negative comments.

Our one true love is Traveling and Dining. For us, this ranks #1 in my “Best place to stay and dine” as noted in my Journey Galore (Must Do Again). Our room was so inviting, the bed so comfortable and most amazing for me is the garden. Words cannot adequately describe the feeling I got walking around absorbing the scent and sounds, and sitting there feeling relaxed and enjoying the surroundings (3 lovely chickens roaming around looking for grubs). Most special for us is the quality of service and the food. Every dish prepared by Eric, owner & chef, were superbly done. Beautiful presentation and delicious. No left-overs to take back to our room 😋cuz it was just so yummy! - I had to eat it all. A Must Stay B&B if you plan to be in the surrounding area.

I did not have breakfast. Location is really good.My only dislike is a personal preference for rooms w more light and less busy- ness.Wallpaper and patterns on furniture overwhelm me.
