Location
Poorly equipped. Shower head all broken. One kitchen knife. No blender. Mattresses old and uncomfortable.

The house was nice, clean and provided basic amenities.
The home was lacking in basic essentials, such as enough towels, no laundry soap, there was no kitchen garbage can. The only garbage can to be used for the kitchen was very small, like the size of a small office garbage can and was actually located in the laundry room. Since we own an Airbnb we were disappointed in the number of things we kept finding lacking, such as no coffee or other courtesy's for the guests. The listing states there is a beach, however, there is no real public access. Also, upon entering the area we discovered there was extreme warnings about fires in the area. There were numerous fires in the rea and advisory to stay inside! We should have been informed in advance or as soon as possible that the location was under severe fire warnings and health hazard warnings in the area to stay inside! We should have been warned prior to arrival! We traveled 6.5 hours to enjoy a vacation in a beach front home. There were Kayaks, paddle boards, etc. for guests, so they obviously are aware of the outdoor recreational area, this would be an issue. On top of everything stated, while my husband, myself, my son, his wife, and their 1 and 3 year old infants were all sitting at the kitchen table to enjoy a nice breakfast, the chandelier suddenly out of nowhere fell from above us into the middle of the table!! This was horrifying, glass flew everywhere and the chandelier was inches from landing on my two infant grandchildren heads! The owner is lucky we have not initiated a law suite, yet! This alone is reason to refund our money. Upon inspecting the
chandelier by my son, a professional contractor, it was only held on by two small worn out wires! all this in addition to not informing us about the active fires and numerous hazard health warnings at the location before our arrival, which they were aware of!

It was in a lovely location. The size of the house was very accommodating for us.
I was called while IN the airport catching my connecting flight and asked questions about my guests that I did not have access to while WAITING FOR MY FLIGHT IN THE AIRPORT. I was told that I HAD to have my guests 'verified' before check-in! WHY was none of this mentioned when I BOOKED the house? WHY wait til 2 hours before check-in? I provided what info. I could access. THEN, the (very unfriendly) agent proceeded to tell me the OVEN did not work! She said I would be given $25.00/day as compensation for this inconvenience. (I had planned a small reunion with my 3 kids and spouses, etc, and was planning a "THANKSGIVING DINNER" which included turkey and all the trimmings.) This HUGE inconvenience made it very difficult for me. The house was not very clean. It was dusty and the floors were not clean. The ancient coffeemaker only worked for part of a pot. It's lines are clogged. The lawn and grounds were in complete disrepair, and had not been tended to so far this spring. The grass/weeds were waist high in both front and back yard. The gutters were so full of pine needles and debris the rain simply poured out over the tops. The so-called "path',or "trail" leading to the lake (mentioned as a way to carry the conoes was inaccessible (a small trailer was actually parked ACROSS the path) and too steep to possibly "CARRY" these conoes anywhere! VERY disappointing. I paid nearly $2200 for one week. I was/am not happy with what I received, and I certainly will expect AT LEAST the $25/day compensation.
