The best hotel in Anchorage

We had a wonderful stay at Snob Hollow Inn hotel. We can compare this hotel with one night stay at Marriott Downtown (included in the postcruise tour) and we can say the Snob Hollow is better. Firstly, the hosts are very kind. Mandy helped us with bagage storage one night before our stay - we traveled to Seward, stay one night, took the 7.5 h Kenai Fjords cruise with Majore Marine Tours ( I recommend this tour) and came back to Anchorage by train (I recommend this trip - the lanscape is gorgeous, you can see also mooses). Mandy and Holly, her sister, are very kind, they helped me also making a long call in US, we are very grateful to them. The room was very clean, spacious, with a nice corner view (sea and trees), very comfy beds with good linen and pillows, coffee maker, good room temperature. Although in my reservation was mentioned No meal included, we found a very nice decorated living room with food - self serving: cereals and milk (cow, oat, almond) that can be warmed at microwave, healthy (organic) snacks, fruits, jam, butter, cheese, coffee capsules and so on, opened 24 h. Location is very good- in downtown, 3 min walking to the Visitor center (a very nice house), 7 min to Trek Bicycle / I recommed to rent/ nearby Tonny Trail. If you take 1 h Trolley, fully narated, for sightseeing Anchorage, you will receive a coupon booklet (included 20% discount at Trek), is near the train station, 10 min walk to central bus station. The neighbourhood is very safe, very clean. Thank you Mandy and Holly for a great stay! We highly recommend this hotel in Anchorage!

Very welcoming, friendly and flexible hosts. That makes your stay so enjoyable!

The location is close to everything in downtown, you can easily walk to different restaurants, attractions! There is a little kitchen, big bathroom with very convenient shower, comfortable beds and a little dinning area with some snacks.

I couldn’t find anything that I didn’t like 😉

Fabulous apartment with everything you need in a fabulous location.

Great location. Pamela couldn’t have been more helpful 😊 Apartment was very spacious, clean and well equipped.

Sadly, the nearby trains tooted their horns during the night as they passed through and as we are light sleepers, it was hard to ignore.

Fabulous location, super clean, generous space, very comfy

Pamela the innkeeper anticipated the needs of guests with fans, hangers, towels, coffee maker, trays, side tables. These rooms had generous space. Location was easy walking to anything in downtown Anchorage. She even allowed us to park our rental car in the driveway.

The only thing that could have made it better was ability to use a washing machine/dryer. Instead, we washed a few items in the sink and air dried them.

Check in was extremely easy. The room was very spacious, nicely decorated and very clean, it had a lovely coffee machine and supplies. The host provided useful information about where to go for dinner. The shower was exceptional.

Clean and quiet room. Great downtown location; only four blocks from visitor center where cruise line dropped us off. Five minute walk to train station, so it's perfect for catching the morning train to Fairbanks. Plenty of restaurants nearby also.

Book it! It's everything you'll need to have a nice little stay in Anchorage.

Spotless, comfortable, and great location. Taking the train to Seward at 6:45am the next morning was an easy little walk downhill with all our luggage. (and I'm not big on walking) Strolled the town too.

There are a few stairs to get to the rooms from the front door. Not a huge deal but still wayyy better and less expensive than any of the hotels in town.

Spacious, clean, well located

This was a sparkling clean room, quite spacious and comfortably appointed. It is located just down the hill, a couple of blocks, from the center of downtown Anchorage. Spacious, clean bathroom.

There was no parking available nearby, and not even a place (driveway?) to unload luggage. If you aren't among the first guests to arrive, you will have to find a spot on the street and carry your things. The owner/manager's pets roamed in the area outside the door. They were adorable but also barked and meowed on occasion.

The room is very spacious and spotless. I have traveled quite a bit, but this is the cleanest hotel room that I have ever stayed…. It is indeed spotless! The beds are so comfortable that I am thinking that I should update my own bed to this bed. The rates are great too. This definitely exceeds my expectations👍🏼

Amazing value in a very convenient location

Great location just a short walk up a hill from the train station. Neighborhood feels safe and residential, but just a few blocks away from the more commercial part of downtown Anchorage with stores and restaurants galore. A great place to overnight on your way from Seward to Denali, especially if you're arriving late on a train and catching the train again early the next morning. Our room, was well appointed and our host made it very clear after booking that our room would not include an ensuite bathroom (though we had access to a completely private bathroom just a few steps down the hall). Our host was super friendly and accommodating, making sure we felt comfortable and settled in with everything we needed, given our late arrival by train. Easy access to our room with an electronic pin code. A really great value for overpriced Anchorage.

Not much to complain about, but make sure to set your expectations realistically when staying here. These are not luxury accommodations, but a really clean, comfortable, and well appointed place to stay that's very close and convenient to the train station. The decor is a bit spartan, though modern and comfortable. The guest house feels more like a converted apartment building, so don't expect a hotel feel upon arrival. Think of it more as a group of converted apartments.

Comfortable room, perfect location, awesome host

Perfect and quiet location, walking distance to everything we needed (downtown, train station, bus stops, Tony Knowles Coastal Trail). Pam was amazing and always available to help with anything we needed. The room itself was a good size and very clean and modern.

We were there during the summer when it's light most or all of the time. Blackout curtains would have made sleeping a little easier. It just took us awhile to fall asleep when the sun was up. :)
