Overall I had an excellent experience and love the charm of St. Michaels. The Old Brick Inn is divided into two separate locations approximately 1.5 blocks aways from each other. The main building (The Old Brick Inn) houses the reception and breakfast areas. I stayed in Kemp House. By nature, I am a "hotel person" and love the amenities of a luxury hotel, but this is not a town with many non-B&B options. That being said, I understood that I was staying in a B&B and my room was definitely more rustic than I anticipated, but the charm of St. Michael's made up for it. I stayed in mid-July, and a new cook had just started. She made very savory and hearty breakfasts that I definitely give a 5 out of 5. Other pros - the staff could not have been nicer (George, Jason, and Gloria were very accommodating and friendly; George even called me to confirm my reservation and give me the heads up about parking and how to register when I arrived); plus the shower power, comfort of the bed, clean towels, free parking, and working AC were all great. Both the Kemp House and the Old Brick Inn are central to everything in town and made it very easy to park and walk everywhere during my stay including shops, restaurants, the harbor for the sunset cruise, and the Maritime Museum to meet the ghost tour. I did read a few reviews about the price of the room - it is indeed costly, but consider the time of year you visit and that you are paying for location.
What was disappointing is that I am certain that the sheets had not been changed before I arrived. Also, there were two dead water bugs and a few living lady bugs in the room. It was not terrible, and I knew it would be rustic, but I would have expected the staff to remove dead bugs. I am pretty self-sufficient and therefore was able to take care of most things on my own, so this did not dampen my trip. I was there on my own, and the room was plenty big enough for one, but I do think it would be close quarters for another person. Also, according to the ghost tour I was on, I was staying in "the most haunted room in all of St. Michaels." That made me chuckle and I can assure you that no ghosts visited me during my stay!

I was a little disappointed. The price for 2 nights would have you to believe you were staying at the ritz. TV didn’t work, couldn’t bring outside drinks in. If you pay that amount of money, everything In the room should work.

Location was terrific. Walk to everything. Friendly, helpful staff. Historic ambiance. Comfortable room. Excellent dinner.
Aren’t able to provide breakfast (staffing issue). Noisy AC. Room “refresh” on a request basis, not automatically provided (staffing issue).

The style of the facility was very cute and cozy. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location was very good and in the heart of the town . We could walk everywhere.
Honestly I feel there could have at least been a complimentary breakfast option ( danish/bagels and such ) for the price of the room- or at least a discount on the restaurant on site for inn guests.

We did not stay for breakfast. Our room, as mentioned, was in the Kemp bldg and we were in the Magnolia room. Very small. Beds were comfortable was really small. Thank goodness we were 2 small women.
