The detail to the Victorian Era. The breakfast was unbelievable, three courses that tasted amazing with detail to every aspect.
Nothing, it was a fabulous Bed and breakfast.

Excellent breakfast and pretty house and grounds.
The only problem was it was warm in our room and no thermostat to turn on the air conditioning. Otherwise it would have been an excellent rating.

Fantastic great place to stay plenty of history
We own a small marina motel on oak Orchard River and a old hotel that president Lincoln stayed in built in 1840 we were thinking about doing something like this
The owner has done an exceptional job on the grounds and home
Thanks again for a great stay

The decorations and attention to detail at Sutherland House left a stunning impression from the moment we walked in. The staff was as friendly and pleasant as can be. The room was very attractive, and the private bathroom even more so. The coffee station in the hallway was beautifully set up with a good coffee selection.

The woman who prepared breakfast was very nice, and the breakfast was superb. Fresh fruit with mint, oatmeal in muffin shape with fruit and nuts, lovely feta/tomato quiche and bacon. Totally delicious!
The room was small (I get that it's an old house, nicely restored). On a busy road.
No one to greet us. Self-check in. Guess that's the way of the world now.

Beautiful house and rooms. Great attention to detail. Breafasts were superb.
No complimentary Coke Zero in their small fridge and not enough variety of coffee pods.

Beautifully restored and well maintained building. Delicious breakfast.
A/C was a bit anemic in our particular room. Not a huge issue because the weather was mild, but if it had been hotter, the room would have been uncomfortable.

The B&B was charming and beautiful. Breakfast was great (couldn't stay for the second day) and we had a wonderful conversation with the other guests.
Our room was beautiful but a dim. There's a big tree outside!

Lovely setting
There was no one on- site. This property is being handled remotely. Disappointing for a bed and breakfast

We felt like we had stepped back in time. The furnishings were wonderful and so interesting. Everything was given special detail to add to the appearance. We were also fascinated with the copper beech tree growing in the yard!
The Rose Room where we stayed was beautiful. The only concern I had was the step down to that section and then the step up to the room itself was difficult to maneuver since there was no railing nearby.

Hospitality for the breakfast was beyond our expectations! The table setting was gorgeous and the hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Delicious homemade breakfast with a few courses including: fresh fruit cup, the fluffiest pancakes ever, and an expertly made southwestern quiche. Plenty of opportunity to chat with the host, but also plenty of space and time to enjoy the meal on our own.
Room is gorgeous and well maintained but some of the decoration is a bit outdated. But that’s just a matter of opinion- not a true fault.

Fabulous breakfast! Gracious hosts! Comfortable bed. Lovely Victorian decor.
The electric fireplace was a disappointment. Had thought it would be gas with real flames.

The hosts, Fay and Bob, are really kind and attentive. The house is beautiful and well kept. The B&B offers a variety of amenities, including freshly baked cookies every day. But the best part is definitely the 3 course breakfast they offer. The place is close to the city center and its a marvelous place for some R&R. We loved it there. Would absolutely recommend.

Everywhere we looked we were delighted. It has been years since we stayed in any bed and breakfast. I chose Sutherland House because it offered a room with a fireplace and flat screen tv with DVD player at the end of our king size bed and the breakfast had our favorites. Also staying in a place that had only five rooms kept our exposure to Covid low. My husband had heart surgery a month ago. WELL we were flabbergasted at the richness of the decor and furnishings. Everything was very comfortable and inviting the four course gourmet breakfasts made by Faye were scrumptious and the table left no detail unturned just beautiful. The pictures on the website do not do the rooms justice. The location is perfect so easy to get to the Fingerlakes and all they offer and to Rochester and surrounding areas and their festivals. There are numerous restaurants and biking and boating and strolling areas too. The owners were very warm and accommodating. There were snacks and candy in our room and refrigerator in the hall with refreshments plus the coffee and tea bar with fresh baked cookies every day all free and a basket of sundries if you forgot anything all free. I ordered a cake through them and it was the best cake I’ve had in a long time beautifully decorated and three layers. She had it on a lovely pedestal cake plate with plates and forks and cake knife. We stayed in Henry’s Haven that over looked their patio ... just perfect for us. We poked our heads into the four other rooms the second day we were told it would be a full house that afternoon. Each room also had the flat screen tv and fireplace and all had a large hot tub some with couches too all immaculately clean. This is a large home and it was immaculately spotlessly clean.
I can’t wait to go again when all the flowers are in bloom.
The spiral staircase was beautiful but challenging. I learned to take off my high heel shoes before using the stairs. This staircase does add charm to this Victorian home.... but we tried to keep the use of the stairs to a minimum.

Exceptional 3 course breakfast. Handy to many local attractions. Beautifully restored and maintained Victorian home. So many thoughtful touches for guests. Wonderful hospitality.
