A beautiful and well-kept accommodation with a great pebble beach right in front of the door. We had a lovely time.

it is a lovely property in a superb location.
We were extremely lucky with the weather.
Only problem we had was the steps at the front - as 2 80 year olds it was a difficult job getting up the steps. especially with any baggage. Luckily our son stayed initial weekend to settle us in and returned to carry everything out.
t would be a help to older people if there was a right hand rail, and perhaps rubber strips on the steps.
but overall a lovely week

We came to stay for a very wet Easter week away with the kiddies was just wanting a diff environment for a few days.
It lived up to that and much more, even in the cold wet weather the location and home was perfect,
We was kept very warm and Cosy in this property it really was home for home. We have tried many properties in selsey over the years and this is the best unique home we have found! Deffo recommend staying in this very rear home.

An amazing property. Really quirky with the accommodation built around 2 train carriages.
Kitted out so you could stay there for ever! Kitchen equipment wise, everything you can think off. Really spacious and warm.
Perfect location, just 20 steps from the property, and you are on the beach.
Will definitely be recommending to friends and family and we will be back for sure.

A unique, interesting property in a great setting. Although it was rather tired, everything we needed was supplied including a welcome package. Thank you.

Sadly, we only stayed for 2 hours rather than the intended 3 nights. The only way into the property is via a flight of seven open tread wooden steps. This may not be an issue for many but while we managed them with care (it was raining and getting dark) neither of our dogs, who are normally quite athletic, wanted to climb them. We had to carry them up but they wouldn’t settle in the house and had to be carried down again to the garden. In fairness, we gather from the owner that nobody has mentioned the steps as an issue previously, but for us they ended our visit.

Quirky place right on the beach
It’s a very different place to stay, full of character & set right on the beach.

considerations to the owner to note.
a lovely quirky property, with excellent sea views. A fab location.
The property could definitely do with an upgrade. We were hugely disappointing with the shower - which should come with a warning label. It ran cold and then VERY HOT, all the time, to the point where it can burn you - this is a health and safety issue. For the amount that you pay for this property, its a shame the owner cannot sort out the shower. A rubber mat would also have been helpful, so you don't slip in the shower. The toilet is also quite grim.
It wouldn't cost a lot to sort this. the owner should seriously change this.

Selsey trip
The property has fabulous sea views, a private garden and is in a quiet lane, all of which are a definite plus!
The house is quirky, and full of history, it is comfortable and well equipped, but parts of it seem quite tired, carpets, bathrooms etc. It is definitely a relaxing spot

Stunning vista and so quiet
We knew this property would be quirky and it certainly was! Two railway carriages but so well laid out. The cottage was spacious and comfortable. We spent most of time there on sun deck where the views were spectacular.
Only small criticism - fabulous bathroom with seperate walk-in shower but clear window with then visibility from neighbours as trees don’t provide coverage! Maybe opaque film or a blind?

Lovely location and idyllic
The location and uniqueness of this property make it a fabulous stay.
It’s in need of a little spruce up as it’s looking worn in some areas. Things like a fridge that doesn’t close and shower that runs boiling hot or cold and a light mist at best were irksome.
However saying that the spectacular views and glorious weather ensured we had a lovely stay.
4.0
Absolutely perfect location, across its own stretch of grass and spring flowers from the shingle beach with wonderful sea views across the bay and along the coast. Good sized verandah to enjoy it from too.
Full of character - railway carriage homes are a feature of this bohemian bit of Selsey - very attractive inside.
However, very poor hot water availability for a house that sleeps 6. Not really sufficient / good enough for the price to have hot water for the bath available only in the morning and at night. The hot water was only enough for one bath each time - so not enough for 6 guests. Especially as water pressure in the electrically heated shower (always available ) was very low - just a trickle really.
The fridge should be replaced too as it was difficult to keep closed even following the instructions given.
The child’s bunk bed carriage room was adorable and a perfect feature for visitors with children.
The seaside touches everywhere were perfect.
Overall we absolutely loved our short stay. If the hot water was made available for longer and the fridge replaced it would have scored top marks!

Very enjoyable stay in a characterful house.
The property is well appointed and full of character - one of a group of Selsey coastal properties originally constructed from railway carriages. They have been ingeniously incorporated into a very liveable and spacious house. View over the sea is fantastic with many good walks. East Beach Road leading to the house is very rutted and needs to be driven with care. We stayed in March - heating was good ( storage heaters) , kitchen well-equipped, bathroom with a large bath and separate shower. Bed is very firm - we needed to pad it out with another duvet.

Wonderful stay!
We had the most wonderful few days. The cottage is lovely, comfortable and with everything you need. The garden is secure for the dog, and children, and the location on the beach and view out to sea is idyllic. Flora is an excellent host.

Lovely, unusual place
Don't know whether to call it a cottage, cabin or carriage - because it's actually two carriages and a bit more. Anyway, it's great.

A very wonderful holiday!
We spent a very idyllic week here in late June, having not left London for many months. We swam in wonderful clear sea water and did some amazing walks. Far from the madding crowd. The pictures on the website do not do the stunning sitting room views justice - you feel like you are right on the ocean. Black out blinds in the bedroom where we slept were great, the bed was really really comfy. A very special place - an unforgettable holiday!

Fantastic beach side location
A fantastic beach side property with great character based on the original railway coaches. The views are fabulous as is the location. A great place to stay.

Great holiday
Perfect spot, right on beach. Very quiet so we were able to keep our distance.
House very well equipped and comfortable.
Shower could do with update and with 2 teenagers another shower would have been handy.
We had great weather which added to our perfect week.

What a wonderful place to stay! We were so thrilled when exploring our new holiday home; warm and comfortable and intriguing, with wonderful views over the sea. An excellent base from which to visit Portsmouth, Christchurch, Fishbourne and many others. Or just walk out along the shore, turn left and find sweeping views of the sea and also walk to Pagham Nature reserve with wide open marshes.

New Year in Sleeper Train Beach House in Selsey
We decided to start the new decade staring at the sea. A planned day trip soon turned into taking a house right on the beach. Just the place popped up under Sussex for the dates I wanted on HomeAway. This one.
The owner on confirming my booking immediately sounded lovely sharing in the delight we felt at starting the year looking at the sea.
Arrived just after three, and (two ladies) gained entry following the instructions we'd been sent and immediately up on the veranda outside the door turned around towards the sea behind us and realised we had found a gem. We also felt very secure because the garden gates are lockable and 12 foot high. Due to the height veranda and raised sitting room this didn't affect our sea view.
The decorations and furniture are good quality and beautifully nautical; likewise all the crockery and cooking implements you could want.
On the second day we abandoned a day out we had planned to just sit and stare at the sea. Sounds boring but we were absolutely captivated.
Brilliant for walking our dog along the coast and the most incredible dawn I have ever seen over the sea.
Also the dining room was lovely for breakfasts and suppers. We did make it out to the two local supermarkets and drove out to Arundel on the third day but that was more to feel we had done something than needing to. Could have stayed two more nights. We stayed three. Felt energised, refreshed and happy to start the New Year.
I have rated everything 5 stars except the neighbourhood only because we couldn't see a walking distance café or pub but stress this was a minor thing for us and possibly it was there but we were too lazy to walk far enough to find it. That said, the old village is delightful which we saw driving through back to our lovely escape. Obviously the beach is dark at night but luckily the Beach House has a streetlight just by the entrance gate.
The Sleeper Train is built into the Beach House. I shan't describe it in too much detail but it was just lovely. Brief Encounter days of the trains I remember from my childhood and the 1970s.
I would recommend this lovely airy house to anyone and already have. We didn't stop smiling.
