Cosy and clean
The upstairs position of the second bed

The cottage was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Be aware that most of the photos on the website are from the two cottages at the far end from the hotel. The other six cottages look over a sludgy pond.

We stayed here for 4 nights with 2 adults and 1 baby. A baby bed and high chair was provided by the hotel next to the cabins.
The cabin is made entirely out of wood, this is very cosy. Hot tub is very nice to relax.
You can use all the facilities of the hotel for free (laundry room with washer & dryer, lounge area, coffee, kayak,...)
The location is wonderful, next to a lake between the mountains. However, as it is a small village, it is quite remote so it really depends what you are looking for.

Nice cabin with view. We were there very short amount of time so would have liked to see the area more. We did not deal with any staff due to our late arrival time
Need blackout curtains for summer due to being so light out

Nice little cabins right by the lake! Pretty cool for bird watchers.
It was really tight for 4 people. The ladder going up to the bed in the small mezzanine sleeping area will hurt your feet. No room to leave luggage anywhere.

The entire bunglow was very good and cozy. Hot tub bath was excellent even during low temperature ( 4C)
Dish washer was missing

location was amazing, great mountain view. Whole cabin had a very cozy vibe.

Good location with a nice view
Although with additional electric heater the house was cold.
Not so clean - Guests have to clean and wash dishes and cutlery (which is absolutely fiine!!!), but should be checked before new ones

- The cottage is very pretty and in a perfect location overlooking the mountains and the fjord. All of us fell in love with it.
- Good sized bedrooms, living room and kitchen with adequate utensils and lots of spices and other things left by previous guests.
- It's in a quiet area and easy to just relax there. I think we were the only guests there at the time and it felt more special and private. The small town of Olafsfjordur is quite interesting too. It's a bummer that we couldn't see any northern lights while we were there.
- Only 1 bathroom (toilet+shower) in the cottage. There were 7 adults and it took quite some time to finish showering and getting ready.
- The staircase to the upper floor, very narrow and steep.
- There's a tv but it doesn't really work. Luckily we were too busy spending time outdoors.

Such a cute place to stay! Especially the view from the big family cabins at the lagoon is breathtaking. To have your own hot tub with these views is amazing. The cabin is really cozy and has everything you need to cook. Super cozy and homey. Great place to see the northern lights, too!
Poor wifi, interior looks a little worn out.

We loved the hot tub outside, the location is beautiful and the room is spacious
The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are very steep and a bit dangerous.

it’s in a stunning location and our cabin was welcoming, clean and cosy.
nothing really - it was excellent. the kettle wasn’t working but that was trivial.

Wonderful stay, the bungalow was very well equipped. We super appreciated the hot tub.

Great hot tub. Nice and warm inside while snowing outside.

The cabins are spacious and provide all appliances required to come by. Each cabin has a hottub, which helps relaxing.
The village where the cabins are located has nothing to offer. The cabins are adjacent to a lake - not the ocean - of which only the largest cabins offer a straight view over that lake.

Brimnes Bungalows offer cozy wooden huts right next to a lovely lake, so sitting on the veranda and watching the mountains’ image reflect on the water is just great. And the best thing is that each bungalow has a hot tub on the terrace, included in the booking. Also, the staff were very nice and the place was immaculately clean. The two nights we spent there were definitely among the best during our time in Iceland!
There’s nothing major, but the kitchen could have been equipped a bit better. Also, the village is nice, but does not offer an aweful lot; so be prepared to focus on nature and a good time with your fellow travellers.

The bed in the bedroom were comfortable and the sheets clean and nice.
I was disappointed that the hot tub was not ready for use. We were staying for a short time and thought we could use the hot tub in the evening.
Also the bottleopener for wine bottles did not work - we rented to cabins and they were both broken :-/

Great location, clean and the staff was great
The furniture was a bit old (the chairs, drawers and one of the bed was falling apart)

Nice hot tub in the back of the house, nice place
Bad isolation and insufficient heater. we’ve been cold all night!

Awesome location. Best place for aurora borealis. Very good place for cross country skiing. The whirlpool was so good!
Nothing more. Everything was perfect. I wish i could stay longer.

We stayed in one of the smaller cabins, no breakfast included. The cabin was small but cozy, it was warm and clean. Loved the hot tub. I liked that the location was in the town itself because it meant all service was close by.
I guess a microwave couldn't have hurt because cooking facilities were not that great. I knew beforehand, because I read some comments here on Booking before we left, so I wasn't surprised and had planned for it.

The cabin was OK — not great. The heating system was good. The facilities were clean. There were plenty of outlets.
Much smaller than we had anticipated. The location of our cabin was on the very north edge of the lake so we had virtually no view of the water — just a view of the road and hotel. The view out of the one bedroom cottages is really non-existent. The only view would be when using the hot tub on the front porch. The TV is in the bedroom. Not especially convenient if you want to sit in the kitchen where the couch is located. The wardrobe was full of bedding so you really can’t hang up clothes. There is just a portable hot plate for a cooktop. We had mixed feelings about the cottage. There was no staff around. I’m not sure if we would stay at this cottage again. The two-bedroom cottages seem to have a much better view but there was no staff around to discuss upgrading.

Hot tub was awesome. Location great. Enjoyed our little cabin on the pond. Would have appreciated a small micro-wave. Also, the sofa bed would be great for a child, but not suitable for average height adult.

Really appreciated the hot tube

The bungalow itself was nice. It would be ideal for staying several days. The beds were comfy.
We did not receive any email or message the day before with instructions on how to get it. We went to the office and there as nobody there so had to call. She did give me the information when I reached her, but we were left waiting for a while as we searched to figure out what to do. The hot tub was empty when we arrived, and you have to fill it yourself. The lid was off so there was dirt in there.
