Great location with amazing views.
The rooms were fine, but could perhaps benefit from an update. Breakfast choice was okay, but a little limited.

The location and view from the hotel on the surroundings are really exceptional. The hotel is a bit outdated but that's also its charm. There are a 2-3 interesting walks starting at the hotel.
While the dinner buffet has a large choice, the quality of the different dishes was not uniform, some were delicious while others were (below) average. The hotel/restaurant is clearly also a one-night stop for tour busses, leading to large groups of tourists arriving and invading the restaurant at dinner time.

The view from the terrace and room is why you choose this hotel and this was truly amazing. The room I stayed at had a renovated bathroom, which was very nice and modern. The breakfast buffet has a sufficient selection.
The hotel overall is a bit old and tired, but still clean. The dinner buffet seemed overpriced, luckily it was possible to order from the a la carte menu as well - the food was ok, not great. Coming with public transport, the access is very limited.

The views from the hotel were truly majestic. Breakfast was wonderful.
The rooms are a bit dated but that's a minor complaint.

The view was spectacular even though the weather was not. The hotel is like a museum! The garden with fabulous overlook was lovely and the staff was excellent.
There wasn't anything I didn't like.

Good breakfast, beautiful location and friendly staff
Dinner buffet was quite expensive with not so much vegetarian variety.

The Stalheim Hotel was absolutely magnificent! We loved our family room which was very cozy and comfortable! Our sons loved the fact that they had their own room with their own beds! The views from our room and all around the hotel is absolutely breathtaking. I can see why so many tour buses come and visit. The views are stunning. Excellent breakfast served in the morning with plenty of offerings. Last but not least, the staff at the Stalheim Hotel are so helpful and friendly.
We didn't mind this but some might. The hotel is secluded and no other stores or restaurants nearby. The closest town is Voss which I think is about 30 minutes away. So if you do not like a quiet and tranquil location then this might not be for you but if you love nature and hiking and some rest and relaxation, then book a night or two at Stalheim Hotel.

The location and views
The room and amenities in room were poor and price was high for what you received

only the location
almost everything. rooms, lobby and other places are from the eighties…breakfast is poor and dinner was buffet style but served like in the past

Absolutely amazing view from the hotel. Really good breakfast in the morning as well. Definitely a historic hotel with some older features/decor but overall very clean and comfortable.

Very old hotel and the beds are not comfortable. bad smell

The view from our room was beyond compare. The reason is that the hotel is located in one of the most beautiful mountain locations.
This is a property ripe for a complete overhaul and new ownership. This hotel is charging guests for the view and location. The room, circa 1960s, has out of date wallpaper, bathroom fixtures, and furniture. The hotel lobby caters to the huge number of tour busses that stop for photos, the gift shop and bathroom facilities. Everything from the soap to towels and bedding is from the last century. You are paying for the view which is far too high for the experience. Instead, stop in the parking lot, head to the back of the hotel and enjoy the view for free. Then, drive on to Voss or another location to stay until the owners steps up and makes this a destination hotel. The dinner and breakfast buffet are also not worth the price. Eat somewhere else.

The view
That I was charged more than whatvi booked it for and dealt with a very, very rude manager. When booking it started there were 2 restaurants but when turned up there was only a very expensive buffet option thay was bot worth the money. A completely Rip off.
