Quiet location. Air con worked well. Room was clean.
Tiny room. Tiny, uncomfortable bed that sagged in the middle. No extra pillow. No extra blanket. No attendant. Steep, narrow stairs.

The apartment is very pretty and charming
The stairs, so steep and high. The terrace is not worth paying the extra price, the view is blocked.

Casa do postigo is a beautiful place to stay, great location. It is lovely to sit upstairs and have breakfast or wine in the evening.
The noise when other guest enter and exit
the bulding, the towels were like sand paper. We asked for a iron a few times and didn't receive till the forth day. The noise of the cars passing, difficult to leave the windows open due to this. The kitchen is very small and our cooker stopped working and I had to message a few times for them to come and look. The bathroom is very small but it didn't bother us but I know it will for some.

I stayed in the double room 1st floor: The location was perfect, 10 min walk to the train station and 5 to the hyper centre, just behind the castle, really. The room is really agreeable and clean, nicely decorated and the windows clearly soundproof! The bed is extremely comfortable (soft). Maria has been super reactive when I called her at an earlier time than check in to leave my bag for the day.
The patio / terrace are really nice, especially with the evening sun: perfect for a sunset drink!
I really enjoyed my stay and would overall highly recommend the guest house again, although it is fair to note details that Rui and Maria should take action on (see next)
All in all compared to the listing, I missed having: radio, tv, tea, coffee.
Other than that, few adjustments should be made to make one feel less like camping:
- kettle: can only be plugged and left on the floor because the cord is too small to reach the table / chair > provide an extension or change the kettle to one with a longer cord
- No bin in the bedroom (only a tiny one in the bathroom). This is insufficient > Have a bin in the bedroom
- TV not working? Not that I really needed it, but if you can check it, or leave an instruction leaflet.
- Tea tin was empty > ensure a constant refilling. Most especially if you provide earl grey, have milk available (as individual doses you can find them easily)
- I don’t know why the welcoming tray was presented with two sachets of « bicaffe » which were sachets of sugar. Plenty of sugar, but no coffee. Would be great if you wanted to provide coffee for those who don’t drink tea.
- There were 2 'fabric boxes': one with 2 (two) sweets (was that really meant to be two? that would be a little cheap), and another one empty. Was it supposed to be filled with something?
- Hair dryer storage base is broken and is not secured to the wall properly, moving when you pick and use the device. You want to repair this as a matter of safety.
- Mould in the shower. You can easily remove this with the right product
- Would be helpful to make the kitchen available to guests if you don’t serve breakfast anymore, so we can store a little food for an early rise.
And please . Just have some coffee available to guests. It’s not expensive and makes the difference, even if you don’t provide breakfast.
Thank you !

Location was excellent! Everything was clean and communication with the owners was very easy.
The room is very small, just big enough for the bed and our suitcases, but it was manageable and we were aware it’d be a small room at the time of booking.

Very central location with easy walking access to the main area of the river. Apartment is really cozy but if you are tall, watch your head. Well decorated and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would recommend.
I texted the hosts when we arrived and again a second time asking how to use the tv and never received a response. I'd suggest that they add some basic cooking needs like pepper or olive oil.

location, coziness, calm
lack of help to heck in and check out

The walls are a little thin, easy to hear the next room come in, open doors etc.

Excellent location for shops, restaurants and the sights of Tavira. The area is part of the original walled city and has cobbled roads and traditional Portuguese houses. Close to the small garden outside of the Pousada and the main church area with castle ruins and pedestrianised streets.
Room decorated nicely with a couple of clever additions. Nice little terraces available wth table and chairs. The French bakery is just around the corner for fresh breakfast goodies.
Very noisy guest in neighbouring room slamming the doors at 2am. The front door and room doors cannot be closed quietly and some form of frame sound deadening would help enormously. Compact room with limited seating

nicely decorated and very clean . Being that it is just a bedroom you have it was nice to have the shared patio to sit on . Owner responded promptly . Location walking distance from the main bus station , to the main square with restaurants and the few sites in Tavira.

excellent location
suite had all the necessities.
nice patio
I am tall so I had difficulty standing up in the bathroom and bedroom

Brilliant location, nice quiet street with a good shower and somewhere to hang your clothes properly. Nice communal terrace. Perfect for a few days with a small amount of luggage.
Our room key had a number on it - but no number on the door. We followed the instructions from the email and found it easily. But sadly someone else in the middle of the night didn't and there was no number on their key or the door. So we had a bit of a rude awaking of someone trying to get in our room not knowing where theirs was.

The apartment was in a good location, the kitchen area and bathroom were small but the living area and bedroom were great. The bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable. parking is better in Tavira than anywhere else we’ve been as there are several free lots within walking distance.
The kitchen wasn’t easy for cooking. Just one burner on the convection stove so a full meal was impossible. There were no bowls for our morning cereal. Also the towels were very rough so we chose not to shower.

close to things to do
noise of the trucks

A comfortable, nicely finished space in a good location.
The drains were smelly at times. The bathroom was very cramped especially for a tall person. Some coffee pods and basic supplies would have gone a long way.

very nice location and idea for what we wanted
very little to complain about

Very clean, great location, parking spots close by, within the city wall, nice host. Rooms are rather small which is okay for a few nights.
I am not picky about beds, but this one was rather soft and small.

We stayed in the studio on the ground floor and it was definitely more like an apartment than a studio as it was really spacious. Lovely big bedroom, perfect kitchenette and living/dining room. The space is really nicely decorated and very comfortable. We stayed for a week and it had everything we needed. Rui is a gentleman and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend!
The shower did not drain and so the tray filled up with water very quickly and leaked onto the bathroom floor. The flow from the shower head was also quite weak but I'm sure these things could be easily fixed for the next guests.

Was excellent location great for seeing tavira.
I found key box difficult, as was front door key. A little advise would have been helpful. Room was small but nicely furnished. Double bed small for 2. More towels would have been nice.

This was a small apartment in a lovely and quaint old building. The room was comfortably furnished and there was good air-conditioning in both rooms. The building is a short walk away from the main sites. The host was friendly and helpful.
The kitchen is really too small to do very much. There is a tiny sideways sink and very limited cooking implements. Similarly the bathroom was really very small. I suppose that this is the problem with these old properties.

loved the spirit of the house, decorated beautifully with great facilities.

We stayed in the studio apartment which is really a small one bedroom apartment. It was cozy and comfortable. The location was great! It was just a few minutes walk from all the shops, restaurants and sites in Tavira. We didn’t cook in the kitchenette but it was nice to have a refrigerator. It was nice to have a terrace area.
Very low ceilings on one half of the apartment and the bathroom. It was okay for us but would be difficult for tall people. There’s not much room to put away clothes so mostly had to leave clothes in suitcases on the floor. There’s a Keurig but only a couple of coffee pods were provided. It would be nice if there were more and they were restocked. Also be aware that you have to go up a couple of flights of steep stairs. Not a problem for us but could be for others.

a nice mini penthouse idea with your own balcony, in the center of Tavira.
bed (room) were a bit too small.
9.0
We booked the studio and as it is up high we could open the windows get a breeze and not rely on air conditioning. Plus I liked being able to make a cup of tea when I wanted.
It would have been nice if coffee pods were provided as I would have to buy a whole box for a few days. Getting in to the bathroom was a squeeze which after a few days started to irritate and my daughter is tall and kept hitting her head on the sloping bathroom ceiling.
