Ein wunderschöner Ort zum Entspannen

Giannis' Haus liegt direkt am Meer unterhalb des kleinen Dorfs Kastro. Es besteht aus 2 Stockwerken: - im EG: ein großes Wohnzimmer, eine sehr gut ausgestattete Küche (auch wenn die Herdplatten und der Ofen etwas älter sind, aber alles funktioniert gut), ein Schlafzimmer (mit Doppelbett und Aussicht aufs Meer) und ein Badezimmer mit Dusche. Eine große überdachte Terrasse ergänzt das EG. - im 1. Stock: 2 Schlafzimmer mit Aussicht aufs Meer (2 Einzelbetten im linken Schlafzimmer, das nachts angenehm kühl ist, 1 Doppelbett im rechten Schlafzimmer) und ein Badezimmer mit Badewanne. Alle Fenster sowie die Eingangstür sind mit Mückennetzen ausgestattet. Im ganzen Haus hat man eine sehr gute und schnelle Internet-Verbindung. - Der Garten vor dem Haus bietet viele schattige Plätze sowie, hinter dem Haus, unterschiedliche Obstbäume, von denen man sich Obst pflücken darf. Giannis, der sehr freundliche Vermieter, wohnt etwa 5 Minuten entfernt und ist sofort da, falls man etwas braucht. Er bemüht sich sehr, damit man sich in seinem Haus wohl fühlt. Die Insel ist nicht sehr touristisch, aber sehr schön (uns haben die Drimona-Wasserfälle mit ihren Gumpen sehr gut gefallen). Als wir dort waren, war das Meer wunderbar warm. Wir haben eine sehr schöne Zeit bei Giannis verbracht und empfehlen sein Haus wärmstens.

Giannis was the best host we ever had. Gave us Greek dishes and grilled octopus for us. All household items, salt and pepper, laundry detergent, etc. were provided. Great location, far enough from Kefki to avoid noise and traffic but close enough to get there in 10 minutes. Fruit trees were blooming, we had a surfeit of lemons, cherries and plums. Calm water for snorkeling.

Fantastically beautiful!

Fantastically beautiful. Perfect location directly at the sea. Probably the best holiday home we ever had. The house has a great atmosphere, is large and fully equipped as described. The sea has also in September a pleasant swimming temperature and snorkeling is also fun here. Great sunsets! A great place to relax, which we will gladly come back to. We also had the opportunity to meet Giannis, who is not only an excellent cook but also a very nice person. Thank you for the great time!

A peaceful gem by the sea

A peaceful gem by the sea

We already knew and loved the area for its natural beauty and peace, and this house and its host allowed us to fully enjoy them! We (me and my wife, our two boys 4 and 6, and my parents) stayed 12 nights and the end of July 2020, and I would definitely recommend others to do the same. Our host was very nice, a real people person who seemed always delighted to have guests share his “slice of paradise” as he called it. He was also very responsive- we had only one issue while there - on a Sunday evening around 9pm - and he was there in under 10 minutes and quickly had things sorted. While there, we cooked many meals ourselves, but also enjoyed a few meals out. We discovered that there is a taverna just a couple hundred meters away along the beach, offering both good seafood as well as excellent meats from their own production. Their homemade Feta cheese is also among the best in Greece, and there is a basic playground for the kids to enjoy. For a little variety, we also took a few trips into nearby Pefki (a quick 10 minute drive away) where there are plenty of restaurants to suit any palette- as long as you like Greek food. ;-) A downside to the general area is that the roads aren’t all that great, so SUV type cars may fare a little better. Having said that, we were able to survive with our VW Sharan minivan by simply taking it slow when needed and looking to avoid the potholes. As for traveling with children, the house was pretty well suited to it, with latches on the balcony doors preventing them from going out unsupervised. Having said that, we did have to establish rules about not playing around the outside dining table, as there is no guardrail there to prevent the 1+ meter drop. Ditto the internal stairs (though a wall starting halfway up does mitigate a lot of this risk). Obviously there were also rules about visits to the beach, but the yard generally provided a nice safe place for the boys to run around. I would probably think twice about bringing a toddler here, but older kids like mine who obey rules pretty well should fare just fine as long as the parents do their part in establishing and enforcing good practices. Be aware that while you have relative privacy here, you don’t have a complete monopoly on the beach, as Greek custom allows for anyone to come in and use any section of beach, even if it is in front of another person’s house, so that happened occasionally. All in all, a great trip I would gladly make again!

What a wonderful place! Peaceful, beautiful, right by the sea. Lovely neighbours. Cool, tidy house. Great taverna only a short walk away. Giannis is so welcoming and friendly. We are already planning our trip back to this little slice of heaven!

Giannis has a beautiful home in an idyllic spot. The views and sunsets are incredible. The sea is clear, safe and great for snorkelling. The Villa has everything you need and Giannis is very helpful, he even brought us dinner round a few times ( he’s a very good cook). Evia is a stunning island, very peaceful and with great places to visit. If you want peace and quiet this is the place . It made our honeymoon fantastic

Unser Urlaub in dem Haus war ein absoluter Traum! Morgens mit dem Meeresrauschen aufwachen und abends auf der herrlichen Terrasse den Sonnenuntergang beobachten, der jeden Abend anders aussieht! Ein Ort, an dem man seine Seele mal so richtig baumeln lassen kann! Es ist alles genauso, wie auf den Bildern und wie beschrieben! Und Giannis ist ein Vermieter, wie man ihn sich wünscht: sehr liebenswürdig, hilfsbereit und immer sofort zur Stelle, wenn man ihn brauchte.....nette Gespräche inklusive. Die Gegend dort ist wunderschön - sehr grün, sehr ursprünglich und sehr untouristisch! Man braucht schon ein Auto, aber das Fahren ist ein Abenteuer (sehr kurvenreich durch die Berge)! Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants gibt es zB in Pefki und in Istiaia gibt es sogar einen Lidl! Fazit: Wer absolute Ruhe und Erholung sucht, ist dort genau richtig aufgehoben! Danke für alles, Giannis! Vielleicht sehen wir uns wieder!

Eine so schöne Unterkunft am Meer hatten wir noch nie. Man kann wirklich direkt vom Garten losschwimmen in der traumhaft ruhigen Bucht der Ägäis. Mit dem Kanu kann man an der Küste entlang paddeln. Das Haus, in dem der Vermieter im Herbst und Winter selber lebt, ist mit allem was man sich vorstellen kann geschmackvoll ausgestattet. Auch für eifrige Köche ist also gesorgt. Die herrlich ruhige Lage inmitten von Olivenhaunen bedeutet allerdings, dass man nur mit dem Auto im 15 Min entfernten Pefki einkaufen kann. Zum Bäcker in Artemisio ist es 5 min mit dem Auto, in Gouves ein Mini-Market. Ausflüge in die grüne Insel von Euböä. Wenn man die Fähre um 6 Uhr von Agiokampos nimmt könnte man sogar einen Tagesausflug zu den Meteora-Klöstern machen. Der Vermieter Giannis Simos ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Hier kann man sich wirklich wunderbar erholen!
