About this house rental
The house is situated between San Fransisco (the capital of the island) and San Fernando. It is about 5 kilometres from the port of La Savina and about 4 kilometres from fine sandy beaches on both sides of the island. It is an old farmhouse with massively thick stone walls and high woodbeamed ceilings. It is modernised and very comfortable, but simple. It is not a smart villa.
There are:
Large living room.
Kitchen.
2 bathrooms.
2 double bedrooms.
Small sitting room.
Swimming pool.
The large living room is approximately 7x3.5 metres. The smaller sitting room has a long built-in sofa and a fireplace. There are two bathrooms, one opening off the living room and one by the front door. The first bathroom is large with walk in shower, a bidet, double basins and lavatory. The second bathroom also has lavatory, shower and double basins. The kitchen is fully equipped for four people and has a gas cooker, electric fridge and microwave. Water heating is by gas. The gas is butane, delivered to the door when needed. There is electric light and the pump to raise the water is electric. Linen is provided and is changed weekly.
There are large private walled terraces at both front and back of the house and there is a large garden for children to play in. The pool is irregular shaped and has a shallow shelf on the terrace side. There is a built in barbecue area near the pool. Sometimes in the hot months the Council instigate a ban on fires, at those times it is not legal to use the BBQ.
We usually eat on the back terrace, beside the pool in summertime. The views from here towards Ibiza with the Vedra on the left, are spectacular - especially the sunsets.
Cars, mobylettes and bicycles can be rented on the island. There is plenty of space for parking vehicles at the house on the land, in the shade! If you are going to hire a car, we recommend an electric one as it is more eco friendly and, very usefully, there are some designated parking spaces in the busiest areas. Parking can be very difficult in high season.
We have a house manager team; they speak English, French and Spanish.
In July and August we rent from Saturday to Saturday.

Your description was very good and the property was exactly how I imaged it would be although the door height was quite low for me as I am 6ft 1" and after banging my head a couple of times I quickly remember to duck!. We did not eat out locally often so I an unable to comment, but you are very convenient if you wish to travel anywhere on the island, very central for everything. Once you know what day/time the pool man arrives and along with the cleaning lady for the change of linen/towels etc you are not disturbed by anyone. Wish I was still there, thank you Gay.

Un'antica casa di campagna ristrutturata da poco. Minimalista, naturista, ma anche elegante. Capace di trasmettere emozioni. Un luogo di
pace dove tornare dopo le ore al mare o essere stati in giro per i
locali di notte. Vere controindicazioni non ve ne sono. Per noi è stata
un'esperienza senz'altro positiva, in una casa non comune perché
rappresenta molto bene lo spirito di Formentera. Non dimenticate solo di
essere in campagna, quindi non lasciate briciole per le formiche e usate anche l'insetticida di tanto in tanto.
La proprietaria è molto discreta e ben rappresentata sull'isola. La referente è stata subito disponibile al telefono.
