Loved it from the moment we arrived. Warm, cosy, amazing wood fire, super comfy beds. Wonderful to wake up and look out to nature and the farm animals. No internet meant lots of interaction and epic Pictionary games with our teens. Being able to bring our dog was great. 10 mins from the beach. Would love to stay again.

We had a great time with our toddler and dog at wattle bank. The hosts Donna and Graeme are lovely. They had the fire going for us before we arrived and our little one loved feeding all the animals.
There was plenty of secure space for our dog to explore and the location is secluded but only 10 mins to bigger towns.
We loved our stay and look forward to being back in the future.

We have stayed in a lot of B&B’s and this is one of the best. The hosts were wonderful, close by if needed but didn’t intrude. A beautiful, quiet area surrounded by nature. Highly recommend.

Positioned between Wonthaggi and Inverloch, the Bass Coast is your oyster. Less than an hour to beautiful Phillip Island - what more could you ask? On site you can engage with the farmyard animals, enjoy a wood burning stove or relax in the sunshine outside. The "barn" is well insulated and would be cosy on the deepest, darkest winter nights.
The layout worked for us but may not for all. The double bunk with single on top is a walk through room to third bedroom with single bed.
Highly recommend a stay particularly with you have little ones and/or a dog.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wattle Bank Farmstay Retreat. The location is central to a host of activities and the accommodation was very comfortable with a rustic charm. The owners were helpful and considerate and generously provided an abundance of supplies for our use. The farm animals really set the mood and would be a big hit with children. A great retreat and we'll be back.

We had a great stay here with our teenager and our pooch. Very comfortable and cozy and the butter, beerenburg jams, bacon, fresh bread, free range eggs, coffee and chocolates were all a delicious bonus! The animals were adorable and the host was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Only a short drive to the best beaches and coastal landscapes. Thank you for a lovely getaway we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Brooke and Peter 😁

Wattle bank is relaxing and friendly. hosts were helpful but not in your face. Rural setting very relaxing.
The TV reception was bad - maybe a taller arieal needed.
For those with children it would be even better if hosts made animals time a bit more interactive, like inviting children to collect the eggs or help feed out the hay. Overall, it was fun.

We had such a relaxing weekend at Wattle Bank Retreat. Donna & Graeme where friendly hosts and took the time help the kids feed the animals and collect freshly laid eggs.
The accommodation was cozy and had everything we needed for a family of five. Generous breakfast provisions and plenty of fire wood & kindling. The fenced off backyard was perfect for the pooch and kids to play soccer.
Looking forward to booking in again next year ☺️

Our family had an amazing experience during our stay at Wattle Bank Retreat. The property is clean/cosy and our daughter loved helping to build the fire, her daily visits to the animals, and gathering eggs. She is still talking about the Alpaca's and cant wait to get back. Donna and Graeme's hospitality was great. We sincerely appreciate the wonderful experience and look forward to returning in the future.

Lovely weekend away with our dog Basil. Although the weather was very wet and we couldnt spend much time in the backyard, our dog warmed to being inside by the fire with trips to the beach and cafes. Really enjoyed the generous breakfast provisions and wood fire.

We had a lovely 2 night stay with our toddler. Barn was cosy and warm. Waking up and saying Good Morning to all the animals in our Pjs at 7am when the toddler woke was fun and spent alot of time wandering to talk to the animals and pat or get sniffed by the alpacas once all ready for the day. Nice safe yard outside barn for the little one to kick a ball around and some tasty breakfast provisions in the fridge. Thank you again, it will be a first holiday for him he will never forget!

We had 2 nights away here and it was wonderful!
The accommodation was cosy and comfortable. The animals were such a highlight. The kids were able to be involved in feeding the animals and collecting some fresh eggs.
For the kids they said it was the best holiday ever. For us it was fabulous. We got to relax and have some family time without all the distractions of being at home.
Great location, close to wineries, the beach and coal creek.

We had an amazing stay at Wattle Bank Retreat.
Donna was very accommodating and welcoming and the barn was very well equipped and had everything that we needed. We chose to spend the majority of our 2 night stay at the property enjoying the wood burning fireplace and relaxing surroundings. The place was extremely clean and the bed very comfy. The provided breakfast of free range eggs and bacon was the best we've had!!
Our 2 year old loved feeding the animals and hasn't stopped talking about the Alpaccas!
Donna and her family were very patient with our not so well behaved Groodle. It was his first trip away and he wasn't on his best behaviour when we went out for a couple of hours on the first day and we felt terrible but they were very accepting and understanding however - next time we will leave him home :-)
If you are looking for a getaway where you can switch off and really relax then this is the perfect place to do it. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I plus our indoors-only rescue cat absolutely adored staying here. It was very peaceful, spotlessly clean and relaxing and we especially loved being enabled to feed the delightful, well-cared-for alpacas by Donna. She was a delightful hostess and we appreciated the fact that she went out of her way to provide us with delicious sourdough bread from the local bakery and our choice of lite milk. The home-produced fresh eggs and home-grown tomatoes were very yummy too! We could not fault our stay at all and it made a great start to our Easter holidays: it was purr-fect and we would love to return!

We had the best time at Donna’s farm. Donna and Graeme gave us the tour around the farm and guided us around the animals. We were even given the chance to feed the alpacas on our own. We are definitely coming back. <3

The property was lovely, the accommodation had everything we needed and was beautifully presented.
Was nice to wake up to animals a couple of meters from door and being able to interact with them as you please.
Property is only a short drive from the town centre if you feel like going for a wonder. The fire place was a great addition for a cosy night in.
Highly recommend ❤️

So many positive things to say about this beautiful property. It is a meticulously maintained and cosy place for a family getaway. Donna and Graeme have done a wonderful job creating a welcoming space and we loved the little details like nightlights in the kids rooms and of course the fresh eggs and bacon for our first morning. The animals were a winner and our kids loved walking around the paddocks visiting the Alpacas and Chooks. The property is a great base to venture into Inverloch and along the coast, can recommend the Cape Tavern in Cape Paterson for a pub meal that punches above its weight (and exceptionally friendly service). Kicking back and relaxing with a glass of red in front of the wood fire was relaxing and a nice way to finish the day. If you’re thinking about booking a stay here don’t hesitate.

We had such a wonderful stay with Donna and Graeme! We have 2 small kids (7 & 5) who loved feeding and patting the animals. Donna answered all their questions (there were a lot!) and really made them feel comfortable. The place was clean and the fire made it so welcoming. The toys and dvd collection were a hit with the kids. It was a wonderful weekend and we would highly recommend a stay!

Winter getaway
I stayed at the barn for 4 nights during the winter school holidays along with our 7 month old puppy and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Donna was a great host and communication was excellent. My son loved seeing and feeding the animals. Location was fantastic as got a farm feel stay but close enough to the beaches as well. Highly recommend

Amazingly friendly, clean and cosy get away
Donna and Graeme were the most friendly hosts! The breakfast was amazing and locally sourced with some eggs of their own chooks. Expect cows and Alpakas and goats and chooks right in front of you door step and an amazing view over the fields. Know that the cabin has small windows only but is very tidy and modern. The wood fire kept us warm all day and night. The beds are super comfy and the shed is in a great location close to any nearby adventures.
Thanks for having us!
