We looked with enthusiasm at our holiday. But were terribly let down: (1) car parking was a problem (2) accommodation was basic with no "Visitors Book" to leave comments (3) beds were uncomfortable (4) cooking utensils were sparse. When we normally rent there is always a bottle of wine, a few biscuits or snacks and other bits and pieces to get started. Never Again.

Hi, we have stayed in this property 3 times now ( 2017, 2019 and 2022 ) and its great, close to my family and close to everything we need. We are from NZ and come to the UK every few years to see family. This property fits the bill nicely and we will be coming again. Thanks again for a great stay. Stuart Tovey

This property is well placed for the town centre, the beach and the Ryde transport hub - all within easy walking distance. The road is quiet.
On arrival everywhere was clean and in good order. Kitchen is well equipped. A minor maintenance issue we had mid stay was resolved within a couple of hours of reporting it.
This was our 3rd holiday at this property and we will no doubt return soon.

We loved our stay in this house, which suited us well.
The only problem was the shower, which drained so slowly. With the water shortage, it was an effective way to restrict our use of water!

A week in Ryde
Very happy with the house, cleanliness, equipment and communication. Great location with all amenities close to hand.
I would definitely recommend booking this house.
The only thing I would change is I would install an outside light, as it is dark when returning at night.

Happy holiday
We had a good stay, house conveniently placed for Ryde’s facilities, close to seafront and shops, but in quiet road. Everything nice and clean and worked well. Good value.

A peaceful stay
Conveniently situated half way between the beach and the town centre. Quiet location on a residential.street. Kitchen well supplied with utensils for all requirements. One downside is lack of worktop area if cooking from scratch.

Wonderful place to stay
Really great place for a holiday, located right in the heart of Ryde and within very short walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and shops.
My only gripe, similar to previous years here, is with the state of the floors. All the surfaces in the house, tables, bathrooms etc are immaculate - but the floor was covered with dust, sand, and various detritus - especially under the sofa and tables. This is annoying when you have small children.
Fortunately, a vacuum cleaner is provided - but I’d rather not have to use it first thing on entering the property.
Otherwise, excellent as always!

Great property, great location - would recommend
This is a really great property in a central location. Very close to shops, restaurants and beach. Quiet road with free, visitor permit parking in several surrounding streets. Extremely well equipped kitchen, had everything we needed and more. Very firm mattresses in the bedrooms! Only one slight negative - I had seen a comment on a previous review about an issue with the couch in living room, so was not completely surprised to find the springs had definitely gone at one end. Not a problem for us as I have a bad back and had taken my own chair (so hubby could sit at the good end), but something the owners may want to consider replacing in the near future. Would definitely book again - thank you very much! :)

Lovely little property
Well maintained. Clean. Central location.
Would be helpful to add more items to the list of facilities so that we didn’t have to bring unnecessary items, for example, iron and hairdryer. Not everyone travels by car.

Light & airy, with real character. In a quiet back street but covenient for transport & beach.
20 Bellevue Road is light and airy, with wooden floors throughout. The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge & freezer and just about every utensil you could want! An upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower & toilet means two people can get ready at the same time, and there are sea views from the landing and single bedroom. The seperate dining room off the kitchen is a luxury not usually seen in a rental cottage, and we loved the fresh flowers left for us as a welcome! The decor and individual touches give it real character and it felt very comfortable.
A short walk from the beach and bus & train stations to travel to other parts of the island, it's also less than ten minutes on foot from a large co-op. We'd recommend the Solent Inn on nearby Monkton Street for real ales and friendly service and the Chocolate Apothecary for their wonderful hot chocolate! A walk along the beach to Seaview will bring you to the Old Fort Inn - try their crab ramekin - so tasty I went back and had it again!

Lovely house near everything.
When parking, the house is inR1 and all the nearest parking is in R2, so try for permits there.
The staff at lettings were very helpful and quick to answer our query
Our only bugbear was the not very good electric shower, but that did not spoil the week.

Quiet haven in the centre of town
Calm peaceful haven after a busy day. Great location halfway up the hill - so good for going up or down!
Well equipped with everything one needs (including a cafetiere - WIN!)
If you like to spend your holiday preparing gourmet meals the lack of work surface in the kitchen might be a problem - but for basic food prep it was fine. Plenty of shelves for stowing holiday bits and pieces out of the way.
Lean-to at the side is perfect for storing buggies or folded wheelchair (as we did). Small courtyard at the back is calm and peaceful and not overlooked - though no views due to high fences.
Beds clean and comfortable- but only one pillow per person- could perhaps have done with optional extras.
May well be back next year!

Amazing location and lovely house- photos don’t do it justice
A terrific property with a sea view from the single room and hallway. 5 minute walk to the beach. The house has a lovely sitting room, table in the (decked) garden area and a table in the kitchen. Plenty of space, all good. Only one gripe- the awful pillows. I would definitely stay again.

Great place for a holiday
Great place for a holiday, ideally situated a few minutes from the beach, and a few minutes from the local shops.
Really recommend it!

Good location, high standard accommodation
Supplies left much appreciated. Good accommodation to Island Holliday Homes usual high standard. Excellent location - rare opportunity to do self catering in central Ryde.

A lovely stay
We had a lovely time in this spacious cottage. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided including a travel cot and high chair, books and toys for our two year old.

Neat, central, quiet, cozy cottage in Ryde. Highly recommended.
Lovely quiet cozy cottage close to bus stop, ferry, beach and shops. It is fully equipped and tastefully decorated. An absolute win and I would highly recommend it to any one wanting to stay in Ryde.

Deep Clean ?
This property gives the impression it requires a deep clean, whilst I appreciate everyone has different standards this comes nowhere near to ours.
Whoever gets paid for cleaning ,should return the money,it's a rush job. It's a pity there is not a facility on this review site to show photos ,that then would be self explanatory.
As there are double yellow lines outside the property parking permits are issued with your booking ,fine, except you need to return to your vehicle everyday to replace on a daily basis.Ok if your using the car, otherwise a pain .Would not like to holiday high season as parking was an issue in September.
Cannot understand why the local authority hasn't adopted the same procedure as other resorts whereby you purely scratch off your dated stay, walk away and forget about the car, bearing in mind this is a hilly area.
Bus station nearby with a reasonable service .

Definitly give a good spring clean sometime, it smells very musty when first entering property.
Suited us very well, just enough room. Property was very musty and in need of a good clear out and clean. Smells on first entrance to the property. In whole very good location and will recommend and use again in the future. Thanks

Great home away from home for our young family
We had a fantastic time staying at 20 Bellevue road - the house is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. We were staying with our 3 year old and our 7 month old and the house was well set up for children, with cot, high chair, toys, washing machine and children's cutlery etc. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking (even relatively sharp cooking knives, which is rare in a holiday rental I find!!). The house was well-located - walking distance to the beach and train station and parking permits were provided for our car too. All in all, a fantastic base for our holiday on the isle of wight.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bellevue Road--perfect location, comfortable and stylish, well-equipped kitchen, all the baby things we needed (travel cot, high chair, toys, dishes), and wonderful weather to boot! We'll be back.
