short mid-week break by the coast

Breakfast was varied, copious, superb. I especially loved the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast.

Cold Cheriton.

Nice room and comfortable bed.

COLD. No heating in the evening. Cold at night with only summer weight duvet. Had to put my coat over the duvet. Poor night's sleep. No heating in the morning so I didn't take a shower.

Fantastic will visit again in the summer when more lively

The location was perfect as only mins to walk to town and beach the owners were great for hospitality felt very welcoming and the breakfast was at high standards

No faults just be much better in the summer when more things are open

Great location, friendly hosts, clean and comfy room, free on site parking and lovely breakfasts.

Great location for exploring Sidmouth on foot. Dawn and Martin were very friendly and helpful hosts. We had a lovely room, comfy bed and the cooked breakfasts were delicious.

Home from Home

We were made to feel welcome from the very start. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. On my second day I wanted something a little different - not a problem. Even allowed us to leave the car in the car park for a couple of extra hours (next guests were not expected until the following day). Excellent hints and information about the area.

It would have been useful to have known how to access the car park before we arrived. This is a suggestion rather than a complaint.

Very comfortable, clean and spacious room with addition of lounge area. Great breakfast. Well located for walks into town and seafront. Martin and Dawn are very friendly hosts; would highly recommend.

Great location, car parking, situated on the Byes, a fabulous tree lined river walk to town & beach!

Room was very clean, spacious and well appointed, with the bonus of a seperate little tv lounge which was great. Breakfast was excellent and just what we ordered :)

SUPERB!!!

Dawn and Martin from arriving and departing were very professional, helpful, friendly and dedicated to giving everyone a comfortable stay. Rooms are cleaned and stocked up everyday with clean mugs, biscuits, hot drinks and fresh water. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and Martin cooks the best English and brunches as well as a selection of cereal, fruit and yogurt. Fresh filtered coffee all served up by Dawn.

Thoroughly recommend

Martin and Dawn are delightful hosts; helpful, kind, conversational and very inclusive. If anyone was one their own and worried about coming to breakfast and feeling lonely, don’t worry, they both managed to bring guests together subtly and kindly. The location was great - only a 10 minute walk to the ‘action’ of Sidmouth.!

Friendly B&B in ideal location for all the town's amenities.

Very welcoming hosts. Free parking which is a real bonus in Sidmouth. Location great, just a couple of minutes from the shops and Esplanade. Nice cooked breakfast with good pot of tea.

Home from home with great hosts and accommodation

Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens. The room was very clean and had enough storage space for everything. Shower was good, nice and hot. Breakfast was amazing. Great quality food cooked to perfection. The hosts were lovely, including Bo the dog. Had time to chat and made you feel so welcome.

That we couldn't stay longer.

Martin n Sally were very welcoming. Room was Very comfortable, quiet n relaxing. Lovely view from the balcony of The Byes. Delicious cooked breakfast. 10 minutes walking distance, on the flat, into town, 20 minutes to promenade, 5 minutes to bus stop..

Would be very happy to stay again, and would recommend

Excellent cooked breakfast, all perfectly cooked - especially the eggs. Room clean, and beds comfy. Private lounge was a bonus. We especially appreciated the double bed being converted to twin. Hosts have good local knowledge which they share eg pointed out a lovely scenic route to the seafront.

Parking was a little tight, but all on the level so we managed.

Cosy. Very welcoming hosts. Great breakfast. Room had large patio/balcony, probably great to sit out in the summer. En-suite was very good. Short walk in to town. Local facilities Info booklet. Although on a main road, our room was at the back and very quiet.

Limited parking but adequate on our visit. Dearest B&B on our tour of the coast.

Superb

Was made to feel very welcome and the place was easy to find. Good to have parking at the rear of the property. Lovely clean room with a balcony, tv, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, shower gel and shampoo. We had ample storage cupboards and water supplied in the room ready. Nice choice for breakfast, pre ordered the night before. Short 5-6 mins into the town and access to a riverside walk behind the property. Would stay here again for sure.

No direct 'dislikes ' to mention.... Preferences? - only perhaps a slightly bigger tv would be great, but at the end of the day, we don't stay in a place to watch tv or on merit of a screen size. Thank you for our stay. Much appreciated.

An excellent overnight stay.

Room was warm, clean and quiet, and the shower was easy to operate. The owner was very welcoming and friendly and breakfast was excellent. We will use this guest house again when we're in Sidmouth.

A very relaxing, comfortable stay

For my solo trip I stayed in a very comfy single room. The shower was hot with good water pressure, and breakfast was cooked fresh by Martin with lots of choice and good quality items. The hosts were friendly, caring, and very accommodating. Thank you so much, I will definitely be returning!
