The staff are super friendly and always there to help. It's located in a quiet village near Lingyin Temple, within walking distance to get there. We enjoyed breakfast with local and fresh food.
The room smells a little bit humid, but I know it's the local weather that makes the indoors smell like this. Opening all windows after getting in will be helpful.

This guesthouse is the best!! My room was super cute, and the house was filled with antique-looking furniture.
The hosts were very nice, they were worried when I didn't arrive at my specified arrival time and gave directions to my taxi driver.

Location wise is not very good as it’s located further in where there’s not many food or shops around. It would b better to take didi (cab) when going out / going back. However, besides that, staffs are super friendly! Breakfast was delicious too! (the most typical traditional Chinese breakfast ive had in China). Staffs even help us carry our luggage down & waited for the didi to arrive ! The stay were cozy & theres cats around too!
Location, climbing stairs to reach the place

location was too steep to climb up, struggling luggage, BUT the old guy was very nice he carried our luggage. Up and later on Downwards. He surprised us with slices of Sweet Watermelon upon arrival. The Room assigned had lot of mini steps me and husband fell a lot times. Bed very low, difficulty getting up and down( as we re in our 70s, NOT Japanese, quite challenging. BF was good, but quite late 8am served. ( we wake up at 5am). Place was damp.
If only they fixed the two steps coming from the bed, If only a regular standard bed height. Hosts Very gracious. It was raining and the steps were slippery. its location is steep and high. Going down is scary.

Good location for just visiting Lingyin Temple area. Service is on time and helpful.
Facility is a bit old and lacks of maintenance. Terrible and expensive parking situation.

We had an excellent stay at Dan’s Sea. It’s located in a local village with lots of laneways and villas. Only 5 minute walk to Lingyin Temple. Very tastefully fitted out throughout with lots of Southern Chinese characters. The room was super cozy and quiet. The staff was super friendly, attentive, and helpful.

The hotel is in a lovely part of Hangzhou, situated on a hill with a great view of the surrounding hills.
When walking up the stairs to the property you are greeted by the 4-legged, very talkative owner Fullmoon and when entering the property the kind and welcoming staff takes over and helps you check in.
Rooms are clean, well equipped with tea and snacks, bed is comfortable and shower is lovely. Especially after a hot summer day walking around West Lake.
Breakfast is healthy and a good mix of different breakfast foods.

the hotel is sweet and has a really cute cat “ full moon”. the staff is really helpful and considerate
we are very satisfied with the hotel, location is near Lingyin Temple and it’s quiet. the only drawback is that the traffic jam from city center to hotel is unavoidable

The location was good if you wanted to experience the local area in connection with the temple complex that was located nearby. I also liked the cleanliness of the guesthouse itself.
I think for the price that I paid for the room, there should have been breakfast included within that but I understand when I stayed there that the housekeeper was not around to provide such a service.

Very good location - walking distance to Lingyin Temple (around 10 minutes walking/距离灵隐寺约10分钟步行距离) and North Peak (around 10 minutes walking/距离北高峰约10分钟步行距离),very convenient to move to West Lake by bus (Line 7) , taxi, online Car-hailing or shared bike.
Very clear room and facilities - comparable to five-star hotels.
Very nice owner - free charging for room upgrading to family room, breakfast for kid, farewell dinner and small gifts. Detailed introduction about the around and good suggestions for the sight seeing.
Not for now.

The owner of the hotel (Jason) is very kind, helpful, and polite. He really went out of his way to make sure the trip was special. The hotel itself was comfortable and cozy, in a good location that is close to major tourist attractions, but still a peaceful and relaxing place. The Lingyinsi temple is 10 minutes walk away, and West Lake is also a short taxi ride away (or if you like walking you can walk there in 50-60 minutes, partly along the ancient pilgrim path). The food at the hotel was served beautifullly and the taste was very good. I am vegetarian and this was no problem for Jason, who made sure dietary preferences were catered for. The room was clean and had a good selection of amenities, and also very warm even in the January snow. I would definitely return to this hotel, and also plan to look for the owner's other hotels in China.

Lovely, comfortable guesthouse in a quirky neighborhood in the hills east of the lake. The hosts are absolutely lovely people who upgraded us for free to a MUCH nicer room than I had booked, fed us home-cooked breakfast at the time we requested each morning, and even helped me order medication for my allergies to their kitten (it stays downstairs, out of the way; I would have been fine except that my kid played with the cat for hours and then came back to drop hair all over the room). Great, comfortable room with a balcony and great view of the mountains.
The location was great -- very easy walking distance to the Lingyin Temple scenic area and the cableway, and slightly ambitious walking distance to West Lake and most of its attractions (about 4 km downhill; my kid and I did it twice on 2 consecutive days).
The only pain was getting back up the hill at workday rush hour or ANY time on the weekend - traffic was nuts and the roads are too narrow for the last 4 km or so. If you like walking (and I do), I would recommend planning to walk part of the way back from the lake and you'll be fine.

Good location, it's quite close to Lingyin Temple, the bell of which can be heard clearly in the room, calming.

Shelly was an excellent host with great English skills and an astonishing British English accent. She provided us with super useful tips. The area is a nice neighbourhood in walking distance to Linyin Temple.

We had a wonderful stay, thank you. The room had everything we needed, the receptionist speaks excellent English, gave us tips on how to get where we needed easily. Breakfast was super delicious too and rose tea was wonderful, thank you. Keep in mind that this is a tourist area and getting a DiDi might not be always easy because of the crowd. However it is a wonderful location to stop if you want to visit the nearby temples. It’s around 10 minutes walk to Lingyin temple and the northern peak cable.

From this guest house, it takes only 10 minutes to walk to the Lingyin Temple scenic spot. The location is very convenient and it is quiet at night.
The breakfast is simple and unpretentious, but surprisingly delicious.

The hotel was wonderful, nestled in the hills above West Lake. The setting and rooms were lovely, peaceful, very clean. Furnishings were elegant and calming, wonderful soaking bathtub, veranda that looked out over the hills, good place for tea/coffee and quiet book. Walk to restaurants, tea plantations, and nice hike up one the hills to a temple, took cable car down. Owner was quite friendly and responsive, spoke excellent English! The breakfasts are superb. My husband an I stayed 2 nights and felt mentally refreshed. Price was very reasonable.

Beautiful in in the beautiful silent location. The inn is wonderfully decorated with tribal crafts. Their breakfast was good too!
