The location, the safety, the people, the diverse breakfast made me not mind staying for almost a week.
One of the rooms gets very hot at night. Our fan broke, but luckily was quickly replaced.

Great location and clean
I would add hand soap in the common bathrooms :)

It’s all about the amazing Rose who works tirelessly to keep the place spotless after serving up the best hostel breakfast I’ve ever had anywhere. Flávio is great fun. The location is spectacular, decent wifi, super clean and comfortable.

The people there are not welcoming at all. When I arrived at the place I felt as if I had come to them against their will. During the day they shout and get angry at each other and the employees. It's not really clear how a place like this gets a score above 9. I had to be around, and this is the hostel that was the closest and highly rated. Unfortunately I found myself in a place with strange people. I slept in where there volunteers sleeping, together with the volunteers and local workers. Unfortunately there was a horrible weird volunteer of theirs , who when he was alone with me closed the door, bothering me. I won't say how.
Superestimado, lugar terrível com vibrações de pessoas zangadas, sem atmosfera.
They don't speak English there at all.
The place is on a main road with traffic and construction noises.
The only normal people there were - 1 Brazilian women volunteer, and a guy from Argentina.

It was a very pretty old house that had been converted into rooms. It had a nice big kitchen on the top floor and the whole place was clean.
Also the staff were very friendly and let me check in a little early after waiting because the room was ready which was nice after a long bus journey.
Breakfast should just be included and the price per night raised to reflect this. I didn’t book a room that included breakfast so it felt a little awkward in the morning when I went up to make my own breakfast and a buffet was laid out, with staff cooking. I didn’t feel like I could be there, so just something to consider.

the kingsize bed, it was comfortable. the room was spacious and the nice balcony.
the airconditioning was switched off every day between 9 AM- 9PM, that was unfortunate and not according to the information i had before booking.
and it was very noisy at 6-7 AM when the personnel was making breakfast. our room was next to the dining area.

I stayed only one day at Porto das Palmeiras hostel. It was an amazing experience. The hostel has a great location, really close to the beach, market, banks. I really appreciated the breakfast, my room and the lovely staff. It was a great vacation.

It’s nicely situated in Barra, close to the beach. The rooms are big and everything is clean.
The hostel is quite noisy, the beds are rough and the breakfast is simple.

The staff, location, the breakfast and the room was huge!!

the house was cute and most of the staff very friendly
bizarre small things were missing that just made the quality of life worse for example: no soap tray in the shower, water just randomly stops working (also in the toilet), ac only after 9pm, kitchen in the room was comletely empty and didn't even have gas, no bulbs in the bedside lamps, trash was full when we checked into the room.
Nothing too bad just a bit irritating for the price.

there is one bathroom included the only toilet for 5 rooms, we paid for air conditioner that doesn’t work, and when it start working it drips all over my bag. the stuff was really rude and not helpful. do you self a favor and go to another place, just don’t worth your money 😞

Everything was good, it was clean, safe, the breakfast was nice and quiet at night. The location was excellent and the building is beautiful.
The bathroom was shared by many people, so I had to wait sometimes. But it was clean.

-We arrived very early, although in the beginning there was no one to open the hostel, we fixed this with the owner and they were very friendly and professional and gave us a small discount.
- Friendly staff,
- Good breakfast.
- Great location
You have to wear masks inside all the common rooms/kitchens.
- Kitchen missed oil and good knifes.
- There were a lot of rules about which bathrooms we were allowed to use. There was only one bathroom in the shared dorm that was always occupied and we were told not allowed to use other bathrooms.
- WiFi wasn't great.

The location is great, very close to the beach and the bus stops. The hostel facilities are sparkling clean.

The staff, especially Flavio & Kelly were excellent hosts. They really made a BIG effort to make me feel comfortable. Bed sheets, towels and mattress were all in good condition and clean. Standard hostel buffet breakfast, but still good food. It's a hostel, so it's a bit old. But location is FANTASTIC. 2 minute walk to beach/water and restaurants. I would definitely stay again. GREAT value for price.
