It took me a day to figure it out, but these are 4 suites on the property of the Boutari winery, which is one of the biggest (and really excellent) wineries in Crete. The suites are beautiful and about 70 meters past where all the wine tastings take place. The whole property is fantastic. The stone building with the 4 suites has beautiful big patios that are literally in the vineyard and olive grove with beautiful views out over the valley and to the mountains. It's a quiet place and the winery has no restaurant (but does have beautiful big tasting rooms that where I'm sure one could schedule a tasting. It doesn't matter that there is no restaurant at the property because 1 Kilometer away is the fantastic restaurant Elia and Diosmos Olive Mint in the village of Skalani.
We used this suite as a base for car trips all over the wine region and were gone all day on scenic drives through the mountains and vineyards in that whole area. It is 10 minutes from Knossos and 10 minutes to the beautiful village of Archanes. It is 30 minutes to the beautiful area around the village of Kastelli, which is surrounded by amazing Byzantine churches and monasteries. We spent three days driving all around that area, which is perhaps the most dramatic and impressive in Crete. Parking is plentiful, free and close to the room. The rooms are big and very nice. The views are fabulous. It's a great place to base. Breakfast is great and served to your room by the hardest working woman in Crete, who ran back and forth to the winery to bring trays of food and drink at breakfast. You can take it in the room or sit on the beautiful patio....
Nothing. It was perfect. Internet is a bit slow but I was told it was about to be very fast when they link it to the winery network capability. They don't push the tastings. But I'm sure one could schedule a tasting of that famous wine. I didn't ask because we were out touring in the car all day.

Breakfast was served outdoors at our suite. The food was mainly local produce, very fresh and tasted wonderful. Evening meal, when available, was a variety of traditional Cretan cuisine, again fresh produce and very generous portions. The staff were very courteous and attentive, but not intrusive. Wines on offer were very good and some exceptional. The site location was peaceful countryside amongst vineyards and olive groves.
Nothing of note.

Great location in the middle of the vineyards with country flair. The rooms are tastefully built and decorated. We loved sitting in the shade under the pine tree in the courtyard. Breakfast and the service was great. We did a wine tasting and the staff member was very friendly.
The bathroom smells a bit stuffy but as it's built like a cellar it's probably hard to avoid. The doors to the shower and toilet need to be adjusted.

I liked the hospitality of the staff, they were very eager to help and make our stay comfortable.
Even though I had emailed that we were vegan (I've booked a wine tour) and had received a confirmation about my request the kitchen was quite unready for our request. It was the first time that happened, (we have already visited the residency three times before and everything was perfect) so it was not such a big of a deal

Wine tasting and tour
Fabulous location and views, fantastic sunsets
Helpful staff
Decent plentiful breakfast
Understand that you are in the middle of nowhere, you may encounter some creepy crawlies.
Evening food on site (if available) could be better advertised, travel to the near village was needed (not a problem though)

For the kind and helpful personnel, for facilities and the landscape.
I dont have any dislike

Beds were very comfortable, large nice bathroom, cozy terrace, everything was styled in a nice way. Personel was very friendly.
Breakfast was very tasty but a bit small
We woke up quite a few times during the night since the very strong alarm lights went on and off (which we think was caused by electricity fall outs). We actually had therefore a poor night of sleep.

Lovely location, in the middle of the grapevines! The view is truly amazing and the winery has some lovely wines! Knossos is like 15 minutes drive as is the airport, so a good choice for your last of the first night. However, to truly enjoy the location another night would have been lovely. The host was friendly and very helpful, she organised a mini tasting for us as we had very little time before the winery closed which is early afternoon. Breakfast was being served on the balcony which was wonderful, fresh and local produce and tbh there's a lot to choose from! Will definitely stay again if/when we are back in Crete.
Nothing!

Fresh air, walk around the vineyard & beautiful sunset. With only 3 apartments, there is a lot of privacy. We stayed at the top apartment and we had breakfast at the terrace, which was great!
Nothing.

Fantastic situated at the middle of the winery hill, 5min drive to Knossos, very nice designed village style rooms, extremely polite personell, perfect mattress, all needed amenities available, fantastic breakfast (really local kitchen creations, fresh prepared, away from the usual breakfast offers)

Everything! Amazing setting in the vineyard with a great balcony to sit and enjoy the views. The room was nice, spacious and clean. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the breakfast and meal with had with the wine tasting were top notch!
Not a fault of the hotel, but it is not really feasible to walk to the nearby village restaurants and cafes so something to take into account. Also the wine tasting and accompanying meal at the estate were amazing but would have preferred to do tasting first separately and then have a glass of wine with meal.

Place is really nice, well maintained. We had a terrace next to the room so we had breakfast and dinner there. Breakfast is super nice, they have everything.
If we must find some improvements: a bit shadow at the parking would be great, especially during summer ! And some tips on how to keep the room cooler

Wonderful locations. Great atmosphere. Very nice rooms
A bottle of wine in the fridge would be nice since it’s in the middle of a winery. And a bit more quantity for breakfast

Everything was perfect. We arrived earlier than expected and the staff were incredibly helpful and let us check in very early. The views to the vineyard all around are fantastic. And this was by far the best breakfast we had in Greece. The location is super close to Hekalion yet really secluded. Superrrr recommended

We specifically chose to stay at Boutari as we wanted to go wine tasting. As we were driving, we wanted to go somewhere that we would be able to wine taste and stay the night. We were not informed that wine tasting would not be available here, so when we arrived at 3pm we essentially had nothing to do until we left the next day. We enquired whether we would be able to buy a bottle of wine and the hostess looked confused before eventually letting us buy some to drink back at our room. The location and surroundings are absolutely beautiful and our suite was amazing, it was just a shame we were unable to do the one thing we came for. We wouldn't have chosen to stay here if we didn't think we could go wine tasting as there are a lot of cheaper hotels that are set in this location without wine tasting too. Would recommend you make sure that this is available if wine tasting is what you are after.
