All the staff were very helpful and agreeable.
Coffee machine in the back stairs was a real bonus!
Weather was quite warm; windows opened but there was no opportunity for air to flow through. Sleeping conditions were uncomfortable.
3.7
Friendly, welcoming, wonderful to take a real ale pint up to watch a film on tv
Quiz night & karaoke night midweek, just added to the good atmosphere of a “proper local”
(Great breakfast round the corner at Surbeanton, too)
Would be nice to have a foldaway chair, just to have the option of a firmer backrest than the bed?

Comfortable clean room in Surbiton really close to shops, restaurants and the station. Good value for money.
It was above a pub so there was some understandably noise until they closed, which luckily was 12am each night.

Bar manager/Landlord, who was very welcoming. The bed linen and towels were spotlessly white. The toilet and sink were very clean.
The door to our room couldn’t open property as the bed was obstructing it, so we had to squeeze through. The room smelled unpleasant and stale. The shower had hairs in it from a previous occupant (long and black; I have blonde hair), which made it unusable for me.

Great stay and very close to all amenities and train station

Room was just the right size for one. Bed very comfortable.
It was above a pub so was nice to nip down for a drink in the pub garden after travelling. Friendly staff and I enjoyed the banter.
Outside of central London but with very easy transport connections. Very close to beautiful countryside and you woukd't think it was so close to a major city.
Excellent Chinese restaurant right across the road.
The noise on the Saturday night was understandable as there was a band on and it finiisshed at a good time.
Not so good was being woken on the Sunday night (early hours of Monday) with what sounded like arguing and fighting. I'm not sure where it was conming from and didn't want to risk leaving the room/pub to find out. I didn't mention it after my stay as I'm not sure there was anything the owners could have done given they don't live in and prpbably don't want to fight with neighbours either!

Super friendly staff, very comfortable and clean room, very charming place and well located in beautiful Surbiton
Everything was perfect

Location great and staff very nice. We arrived late and they still fed us (at 10.30pm). Very clean and new bedding and towels. Comfortable bed.
The entrance through the back of the pub was a bit grotty, and my room was very small. Some items recently and nicely updated, others rather old and tatty.

The Properly Was In A Nice Part Of South West London Close To Heathrow And Central London

Clean bedding and good quality towels
We booked two double rooms. We were initially shown to one double and one twin room. The twin room had two windows and looked out onto a busy road. The curtain poles had fallen down with net curtains attached and no effort had been made to reinstate them. We complained and were shown to a double room. All 3 rooms we were shown were shabby. There was a bottle wedged under the window to keep open. In one of the rooms and the curtains didn’t meet properly in the other room, it was noisy both from traffic and people frequenting the bar until 2:00 am in the morning! We were woken by Housekeeping chatting outside rooms and banging about very early in the morning. There was no remote control for television and there were wires hanging from the television in one of the rooms. Carpets were old, worn and not very clean. Wall mounted power sockets were loose. Access/egress when bar was closed was via dark dingy corridor that led through the kitchen into an unkempt back yard. No reception area or means of contacting staff out of hours should it have been necessary. No hairdryer. Nowhere to hang a towel. Dispensers for consumables (body wash and shampoo) were empty and we’re not checked or replenished by Housekeeping in one of the rooms. Housekeeping left one of the room doors open on the latch all day after servicing the room, fortunately we had no valuables with us. Evidence of water marks and damaged plaster on ceiling in one of the rooms and where wall paper had worn it was just painted over.

great location
fantastic pub,wonderful landlord

The rooms above a busy pub are in a great location, and the downstairs bar was full of buzz for the weekly pub quiz. Also serving great
Pizza.
The room was very clean and the beds were super comfy. It was great to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The shower cubicle was nice and big though the water pressure could have been better.
I arrived when the bar was busy, but felt very frustrated when the bar staff repeatedly ignored me in order to pull pints for the locals, so check-in was not great. The entrance to the rooms was through a very unpleasant rear entrance and grotty corridor.
The windows in the room didn't open, so it was very hot and airless, however I was able to get a fan after asking a few times.

it's a fair trade, in terms of what you receive for the money you spent. Well positioned in Surbiton, near restaurants and facilities and 3 min walking of park and green area. Nice and helpful host.
the entrance on the rooms area.
